Did I understand you correctly that you doubled the recommended dosage ? I admire your courage and objective. None of you corals fainted? All inverts OK with that ?? Your tank and rockwork is outstanding. Beautiful torches & hammers.
Love the videos... Only criticism i have is the loud volume increase during your intro.....I have to mindfully be prepared to lower my volume or just fast forward every video past that
Big fan I order from you guys all the time! Gotta mention one thing though chemiclean is rough on the biofilter ive seen alot of tank crashes in the weeks following using the products. So buyer beware its an antibiotic
I dosed my DT last weekend. 80 gal with 30 gal sump. Cleaned it up. Did a 40 gal water change but skimmer is still blowing bubbles. Any thoughts on that? Maybe I should throw a bag of carbon in the sump
I just used chemi clean on my tank for the first time. i was really hesitant to use it, but i am now very happy that i ended up doing it. some of my coral were looking pretty annoyed by the cyano so it was time for more drastic measures for sure.
@@Mindboggle100 I used the stated does on the box of chemi clean and it has not come back since thankfully. My tank has actually been amazing since I used that where I felt more comfortable getting some nicer coral for the tank 😌
@@meaganbrink6937 Pleased it worked for you Meagan... reefing can be i nerve wracking, its so easy to get issues, and takes a long time to fix them! Chemiclean seems like a miracle worker by those standards. Good to know, cyanobacteria did not return in your tank. Glad you have more coral, as that can help too, since all life competes for the same nutrients. Are you in USA? If so you guys are blessed with a lot of good reefing stores. I'm in Sunny (Joke) England, and even getting coral here is much harder, its less mainstream than the USA. Maybe one day you will post a video of your tank? it would be great to see the progress. Hopefully your corals thrive! Thank you for your reply. I always find comments a great source of help :-)
@@Mindboggle100 yeah the tank has been a struggle since I started it for sure but I started small with a 30 gallon and knew it would be difficult but not impossible. I am really glad things have evened out since I did that treatment though. I will mention I added quit a bit of macro algea along the back side of my tank in the display after I did that treatment so that probably helps as well. O wow I didnt know there wasnt much access to the hobby stores over there for this. The closest for me is a bit of a drive but an hour isn't so bad considereing the next store is 3 hours away. The US has some advantages I guess at least for hobbies like this haha
@@meaganbrink6937 Meagan, thanks for the tip about Macro algae. Eventually I hope to get some more bio-diversity, aka macro algae and pods introduced. I'm thinking of attempting a refugium area, I like the idea of using a bottle in the sump! If your tank happens to have a sump buit in the rear, it could work for you too? My tank is definitely very barren currently. It is as you say, difficult to get a balance...I made the terrible mistake of letting my Nitrate & Phosphate run too low. I had the dreaded Dino's as a result. (Keep your levels above zero! ) I'd say 30 gallons is a great tank size. I had a 24 gallon, and that actually was my best attempt yet! Not too small, a good choice to learn with. Of course I'm still learning all the time, but isn't that part of the "fun" ;-) Sometimes, I think I should never have upgraded... I still have the 24 gallon, I might go back, if I don't up my game sooner than later! Yes, regarding the availibilty of coral, you definitely have a massive advantage in the USA. During covid, it was almost impssible to order any livestock & I had a single clown fish for months on end. He was a lovely fish, and very cute, until the Dino's took him out :( Chin up Meagan, it sounds like you are winning the aquatic battle! I hope my resolve holds out too! Its great to hear your experience, it makes me feel better to share the pain! Comments are a great way to get feedback and well worth the time. Thank you.
turn your lights out, water change, feed heavy for a few days, water change , turn lights on again and its gone. Then stabilize you tank parameters and they won't come back.
@@Mindboggle100 My nitrates were at 0ppm, and that caused my dino outbreak. I did a few things - fed more to get nitrates up closer to 5ppm, and then did lights off for a few days and water changes. Continued to feed heavier. The goal is to boost your beneficial bacteria with the higher nitrates, and they out compete the dinos. I also added quite a bit of liquid bacteria to boost their populatio . Dinos went away. I then installed a uv system to encourage the dinos to not come back
This is very helpful actually. The first time I used this to instructions it didn't work. I tried again a couple weeks later, and didn't fully work. It eventually came back. So this time I did three treatments back to back to back, and it worked. I think next time I'll just try double dosing it like March does. I couldn't notice any adverse effects after putting in the carbon to remove it. My nutrient levels recovered to the same lower levels as previous ~5ppm nitrate, 0.10 phosphate
I’m not saying it doesn’t work. I have the product at home myself and it works every time. But...I don’t open my UA-cam to watch products getting pushed, and this would be the third product in a span of a week he has put a spot light on. Maybe I’m being harsh but but this is the World Wide Web. Come at me bro 😂

Do you have to have to vacuum the dead cyano out of the tank or does it get dissolved and pulled out through the filter socks?
dont have to vacuum out
Great video , what causes red cyano? My po4 are at .02 and my nitrates almost undetectable .
Lol you just answered your own question. Cyano comes from very low nutrients as well 😂
beautiful tank
Just ordered it from America to England l, heard good things
Lol I just found this. Instructions we dont need instructions. I'm the same.
I wish they had a "one stop shop" for D-D-D-dinos...don't even like saying the word.

you do not need to cover your tank glass, or anything. room lighting is ok. you just need to starve them .
