One big disadvantage of the Gen5 Detect is that you cannot attach the crevice tool to the end of the wand. This is because in order to attach the wand to the main unit, you need the crevice tool inside of the wand. I tried it at Best Buy with a Dyson engineer and he said that I had to buy a separate crevice tool. The built in crevice tool is too short to say vacuum under a bed. As the V15 has no built in crevice tool, I can attach the crevice tool to the end of the wand.
I bought the v15 complete direct from Dyson Australia, then the submarine came out. I was told the submarine head did not fit the dyson v15 . Arent they all out of the same factory?
Of course, if you choose the V15 to save money but the trigger is a deal-breaker (I have no idea why they didn't at least offer a trigger lock), you can always put some tape around the pressed trigger to keep it on.
Good video. I'm not knocking you, just some creative advice. Create more of a script so you don't repeat things over & over & say the same thing multiple times. But good video, I found it helpful.
Thanks for your great comparison review. Going to buy one of these, and I’ve been watching a lot of Dyson review videos. Yours was the most helpful.
Appreciate the thorough review. Thanks!

The submarine only works with the V15 submarine. If you buy the regular V15 absolute it will not work
Just a note - therea a trigger clip for $5 available on amazon for the V15
Yo thank you lol honestly the holding the trigger down was almost the deal breaker. You just saved me a lot of money
Is both can use on tiles
Thanks man, I really needed this info.

Just mentioning the v15 mentioned is the v15 S (submarine).
are the hepa filters identical and interchangeable?
V15 and Gen5 filters are NOT interchangeable. Gen5 filter is larger.
Indeed you can feel the weight difference..but O said to myself some exercise would be good
I got the v15 detect by mistake and i was wondering should I return it and get the gen5 detect instead
The submarine module cannot be purchased and used with other V15 models that are not the submarine model.
Pull the head back, crevice tool, long neck too... i has to cover my sons ears
Submarine attachment DON'T fit v15!!
I thought it does
Sorry but submarine is meant to wash titles, not precious wooden floor.
