My heart sank when you explained how the little lights in the sub had been destroyed during the great Resin-Fimo war of 2021. I feel like the darker colours on the sub honestly could've worked pretty well paired with a bit of lighting.
I'm usually more of a lurk & like kind of person, but wanted to take a moment to comment and say that I find your videos hugely entertaining. I've never really built anything other than Gunpla, so the way you go about creating these pieces from scratch is insanely impressive in my book. Honestly, the perfect kind of content to wind down to after a day at work IMO.

Darker sub would have worked, if it wasn't for that pesky film!! I think the only solution is to find a way to donate it to Bill Murray, who will appreciate it more like this than if a total success.

It makes me feel better seeing that even the folk who are really really good at stuff with tons of experience still make mistakes or have things just not work out first time. I ugly-cackled at "3cms' worth of inches of resin". I know it wasn't what you'd intended, but I really loved watching you solve/lessen the problem with the submarine. Thanks for sharing it anyway - it's really appreciated in a world where, as you said, lots of creators seem never to make any mistakes! I always learn something with your videos, and your sense of humour always cracks me up (no pun intended). Take it easy, and I look forward to whatever you've got planned next.

All I'm going to say, is that from one resin artist to another, It's both sad and comforting that resin mistakes are just as common and part of any resin-art-making process for every artist as it is for me.
And from an ex-pre-teen girl who is now in her mid-twenties, you have successfully done what every teenage girl has done at least once in her life: painted leopard print on something. Although, for us, it was usually on our nails and it also usually came out lookin' pretty meh the first few times around.

Honestly I think it looks amazing even with the mistakes. It looks more like the sub has been down under the water for a long time or maybe they're in deep water where the light wouldn't hit it the same, resulting in a much darker look to the whole thing. Also, shark looks epic, and even the acrylic rod looks a bit more like a light and the bubbles add to the movement. Even if it wasn't intentional, I like it, it looks great!

And like you said, it's interesting to see a project not quite come together as hoped for. Life's full of moments like that, and they're worth remembering, too. And even if the end result wasn't quite what you wanted, that adorable tiny sub is still preserved in video!!

I'm glad you showed us this video, mistakes included. It reminds other artists that we're not the only ones who make big mistakes, and that it's just part of being an artist

I appreciate so so much that you posted this. I recently cocked up a project of my own pretty bad last second and I look at all these great artists I look up to and they never seem to have the mistakes I do and it makes me harder on myself. I know, logically, they do probably mess up too but I can't help but feel a little more of a burn because I never see anyone else screw it.

I actually like to think the cracks/bubbles are from the sub imploding after getting bit by the shark :D its more of an added narration for me, and I like it because of it!

Tbh the bubbles and they way the submarine is Burnt kinda makes it look more realistic, the bubbles add onto that effect as well! I think it turned out great!

I really enjoy your humor and watching you make such tiny and fun things for us to enjoy! plus showing mistakes is always a good thing in my opinion. And the solution really did work wonders! much improved! can't wait until your next video! RIP tiny yellow submarine. your were adorable.

I'm really really glad you still posted this video even though it didn't turn out like you hoped. It's refreshing to see the honest 'side' of art and encourages other people (like me) to not be discouraged about their own mishaps. Especially with all the time and effort and money you put into yours! It still looks better than what I could do 😂

I've made a few spectacular (and expensive) failed resin projects. Most recently I spent weeks assembling, sanding, priming, and prepping a client's sculpture for a large-scale rubber mold from which to cast resin replicas. Despite years of experience, thousands of dollars of materials, and seemingly all the right conditions, the entire thing went sideways and destroyed not only the mold but also the master. Casting and pouring is great when it works.

    So a couple things:
First: love this build and the problems that came with it! The bubbles honestly add a lot more dimension to the thing. My only add would be an ocean bottom or something to add more depth to it. Otherwise really love this build!
Second: (preface; I don’t know if this already exists) but have you ever thought of doing a mini vlog or something showing off you favorite builds or most unexpected ideas for builds or something along those lines
