    I actually like the air bubbles. When you move from surface to sea, as the Sharkasaurus Rex obviously does, you’ll have a ton of bubbles behind you. Actually, I wish there were more bubbles, mostly around the feet and tail, to give this piece a good sense of *movement.*
    Turned out perfect anyways!

  • @tessiepinkman
    @tessiepinkman Рік тому +498

    Some of the bubbles just give the scene a sort of "movement" that it wouldn't have without them, and adding red blood-resin into that big bubble was a genius-level move. It looks great!

  • @christinakinch

    These resin pieces are always so well done. The bubbles always work out in the end for you, in this piece they add movement imo. The way in which the red resin dispersed throughout the blue resin is also very effective. Also, since the 'sharkasaurus' has no blood near its mouth, it can be inferred that this apex predator sometimes hunts for fun or simply to eliminate other predators.

  • @oakenshadow6763
    @oakenshadow6763 Рік тому +15

    And thirdly, I actually love the air bubble underneath him! It gives the illusion that he's just crashed down on the other shark or brought his leg down onto it from above the water, and moved so fast the air bubbles haven't escaped from under him yet. My dude, this is so random and the sculp is so nice!!!! Awesome!
    And two small tips here: try making the form with less trim on the sides, and putting it to cure in a pressure pot/chamber, so that any bubbles inside the resin get squashed into imperceptible tiny sizes. The other one, try to seal the base and sculpture before you do any pours. Basically "painting" (quite a few methods to do the same, including just brushing it like paint) a relatively thin resin layer top of the sculpture and base and let it cure, displacing air as you apply it and trapping the rest inside the shell it becomes.

  • @W._Langman
    @W._Langman Рік тому +26

    Idea: pouring coloured resin in stages is tricky because you get dividing lines, because you can't get the colour exactly right. Is it possible to mix the colour with only one part of the resin, then take a portion of that at a time to mix with the other part?

    This is genuinely one of the cutest lil guys you've made so far on the channel and he turned out pretty great. And as for the bubbles, what ocean doesn't have bubbles and turbulence from all the movement? Phenomenal job all around.

I'm ultra happy to support you on Patreon and seriously "folks" -- to keep this amazing stuff coming you should really send Adam at least a couple of bucks a month. Maybe skip one Chai Latte a month to make room to support this man's AMAZING work.

    The end result with the glamour shots are terrifying but the way you narrate the creation process is so absurdly hilarious that I’m starting to think that the opposite of fear may actually comedy, like you tackle a scream of horror with its natural opposite: laughter

    I really love this one! I don't think the bubbles take away from the piece at all. If anything it adds to the entire scene. I mean it is an underwater scene, and there are bubbles in the water. I really enjoyed this video.

    Seeing hints if the back, man you really did muck that up. But i think it's so cool how hard you try and spin the failures into successes. It may have looked really bad but i would have loved to see the other side and just ignored the flaws. I swtg resin is cursed but everytime you make a masterpiece with it. Thanks for making my Friday extra rad :)

    Honestly, the bubbles actually look thematically appropriate. You've got a couple of fish on the bottom of the ocean that just got done with a fight and one's presumably still moving. That's going to cause some obvious turbulence. Mix that in with your fixes and it honestly looks really good.

  • @KeepEV0LVING
    @KeepEV0LVING Рік тому +1

    I think the bubbles are pretty good in this setting. The blood fix on the bottom i think was perfect. I think putting some sand flying up from his feet would have made it cool as well. since his steps would lift up the ocean floor sand

    So, what if you made a velocigator? I'm think like some terrifying hybrid that was genetically mutated to be the ultimate hunting machine. It looks like an alligator from the top, but when you look at it from the side, you see the large powerful legs and the wicked hooked claws. The velocigator can reach a top speed of 53 mph in jungle terrain.

    There’s a technique where you ‘paint’ a thin layer of resin onto your item that will be submerged in resin (i.e. sculpture) so that any air pockets (bubble sources) are totally sealed off. It seems to be a pretty successful technique, so maybe you could give it a try?
