This razor has the efficiency of a R41 and the smoothness of the R89. Just a wonderful razor, for me the best I have ever tried and I really have no need to look for other razors. I warmly recommend this razor to everyone. No nicks, no cuts, no irritation, no blade feel.
This was my initial purchase into the foray of safety razors, thanks to this video itself. I'm highly impressed with this razor, and I would definitely recommend it.
You cannot go wrong with Parker safety razors. My favorite is the 98R and it's my go to. My second is the Parker Semi Slant. My personal opinion, Parker is the best bang for the buck.
Wow!!! Geo did not mess around with that shave. Looked to be very efficient and smooth. I may need to take a closer look at the Parker 97R. Looks like a very good comparison to the MUHLE Rocca.
Hi Geo, Wild Bill here from the Show Me State. Awesome video as always. Parker razors are truly hard to beat. I should know I have 5 of them. Lately in several of your videos you use a spoon to scoop soft soap from the tub. Well this got me to thinking how cool it would be for you to make a Shave Nation spoon to do that task. I know I would buy it. (PEACE) WILD BILL
Love the vids!! Stropping straight razor as this popped up!! You got me hooked!! My next step is the safety razors just for the fact that I shake too much!!! I imagine they are more forgiving right? Any ways, have a smooth shave!!!
Nicely done Geo💈💈 Parker has a ton of razor models, anyone should be able to find one that works for them. Capt. Choice Island Time sounds nice and I know it's a good product. Great video as always, thanks. Enjoy!
Does the outer part of the blades comes off a little bit from the head (like with a King C Gillette Safety Razor) or it sits flush with the head preventing nicks and cuts on the nose? I liked King C Gillette's razor for the weight, short handle and such. However, since the blade protrudes a bit outside, I'm getting my thumb cut very slightly everytime I untwist the head to change the blade, which is something that bothers me on the long run.
@@geofatboy haha yeah I was like : how stupid can I be not thinking upon doing that simple thing. Anyways, I bought (by some errors) the 97R. I say error because at first I wanted the 87R. Regardless of that error, this razor is a freaking beast. Super aggressive, super agile, it works perfectly. Only gripe is that I used a Derby Premium blade (they were really cheap for a pack of 100). As for the Derby, I might simply use a new blade at every shave since my 2nd shave this week with the same blade wasn't as smooth as the first one (I'm using the technique of hot face, but cold blade). One day I'll do my face a favor then buy a pack of Feather Blades.
Hey Geo! I am new to DE shaving and started with a Merkur 34c. What would a good open comb recommendation be that's not too aggressive but can handle 3 to 4 day shaves for a beginner?
Hey Geo, unrelated question, but I wanted to ask specifically about the fool's pass; I know it's dangerous but I'm a bit fanatic about having the undernose area super clean. New to your channel btw!
PLEASE READ THIS GEO!! I recently made the switch from Carthage to DE and have been trying a variety of different products. I live in southern Ontario Canada and am displease with the small mediocre variety available around me and on canadian amazon as imports are usually $40+ after shipping for something as simple as pre shave and shaving cream let alone after shave. I tried to order the "Proraso refresh Gino tin" and it's not available to be shipped to my address unless I order from their website for a whopping $80+. From watching your videos I really want to try it and have ordered the items individually for roughly 80$ on the dot but I cannot justify spending this if it won't last. I was hoping you could make a video for me! "DE / WET shaving products available in and around Southern Ontario" Love your smile and your website is inviting! We've shared some chuckles 😃, your Canadian shaving enthusiast, - Goose.
Hi Goose, thank you for your kind words and support! Honestly, we're in the midwest-USA. I'm not familiar at all with whats around the Southern Ontario area. We do ship to Canada just about every day though. Hope this helps!
Hello Geo, I'm concidering buying 1 of 2 brushes, the Trafalgar T2 Synthetic or the Chubby 2 Sovereign Fibre, do you have any comments on one vs the other? A video review of this would be great!!! Thanks so much! -David
Even when cleared, there's a residual slickness (aka ghost lather) left behind. Otherwise, the blade won't glide well, and the skin might get irritated.

I used feather blades on my 87r, smoothest shave I’ve gotten! Thanks sir Geo!
Nice work!

Nice review. How does this feel on aggressiveness as compared to 94R ?

Great video and choice of Island Time.

always a big fan of Geofatboy ❤️

If your hands shake, you'll enjoy the safety razor more.
Hi.. can u share your comparison view on 97R and 94R ?
They have the same head.

So right Terry-Thanks for sharing.
97R and 94R have the same head and same height handle. The only difference is the knurling of the handle.
Thanks KR
It has the same head as a 91R?
I believe it is.
Will there be reviews of your own brand? I'm really curious to see the _Shave Nation Circle Swirl Closed Comb Safety Razor_ *SN266* .
sote-Thanks for the request. SN266 it is on the list!

You mean blade overhang. Place a towel in your palm, then adjust it. VOILA-No more cuts!

Not yet. Working on it!

Thanks Dad-I've had a lot of questions about a comparison between these 2 brushes so I may just do a video on that very topic!
3:33 Parker no Merkur! 😄
Nice! I was wondering if anyone would catch that! You have keen ears! I left it in on purpose.
Great shave! But I always wondered... why do you clear the runways? Just don't paint them :D
Even when cleared, there's a residual slickness (aka ghost lather) left behind. Otherwise, the blade won't glide well, and the skin might get irritated.
That actually is quite smart! Thank you for the reply!

Geo, your new intro is wayyyyy too long.
But it’s okay. You should keep it if you like it! I’ll skip forward!
