Girl!!! Let me give you some advice about those over-critical 'Karens' or 'Kens' who are nothing but compulsive, annoying, grammar police who have nothing better to do with their own time! These folks really think they're giving 'constructive criticism', when in reality, they have a superiority complex and judge others based on something so ignorant as "um".
I've watched episode 1 through 7 already, and you have been wonderful!!! Thank you for your courage! Thank you for your voice! Thank you for continuing to be an advocate for those who may still be trapped in that abusive environment!
I started watching epidode 8 and see that you're now being intentionally mindful of how many times you're saying, "Um". Girl!!! Stop it!!! We have been abused by these idiots our entire life!!! Tell him OR her they can go police another podcast!!!
You are great!! Keep your head up and say, "um" 10 more times... on purpose! ❤

Regarding your first few comments: you are beautiful and courageous for speaking up. Your content matters! People will start their healing process because of your courage to expose. Yes, ums can be distracting. But people need to get over it. Moses had a stutter! God is using you! ❤ I took it as a sign that you were very conscious of what you were saying and choosing your words wisely. Your presentation skills will improve organically with time. Anyone benefiting from your courage will know that and tune in regardless. What you have to say is important to the edification of the body of Christ. ❤

      Bravo Robyn!
Episode 8 was 100% better than previous episodes regarding your presentation and delivery! You are pacing yourself, not rushing and using alternate words like, so, and, now and but instead of "Um". Or, you're simply, pausing, then going on! You only said it a few times and it's ok, and actually comes across naturally when it's used sparingly. Your content is EXCELLENT! And now your verbal presentation skill is matching your classy look, content, very professional and well planned podcast! I didn't mention my observations and suggestions to hurt or offend you in any way. Megan Kelly is one of my favorite podcasters and you have the potential to be equally as good. Like Megan, you have the look, class, content and presentation required to be one of the best! Correcting these little things has ALREADY made your Podcast 100% better! I'm a fan! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Please except my apologies if my observation and critique was in anyway hurtful or offensive. That was never my intention. You're doing GREAT! God bless you!

Unfortunately I worked there when that took place. We had an all staff meeting about it but they wanted to talk “around it”…not be totally honest but then the media put it out there. It wasn’t good at all.

Interesting. Citygate Church, which is Pastor by Eric Petrie in Cincinnati, who is a spiritual son of Rod Parsley, had a racial exodus around the same time at their church.

Hi, just heard you on Susan Puzio. Im a former HR Director and cannot imagine 1) not having a team and 2) in such a toxic CHURCH with a 3) narcissistic head mega maniac! I sure hope he and those like him, repent. Question: im just scanning your videos. Is every video just about WHC and hot Rod?

@MegaManiacs-2024, I didn't perceive racism in that clip. It's important to base opinions on facts to maintain credibility, unlike mainstream media's tendency to encourage blacks towards suspicion of every action or statement by a white man. In my view, excessive focus on racism in the media is harming race relations in our country and the Western world. However, if you feel led by God to share this perspective, then continue to do so.

@MegaManiacs-2024, I think your video lacks proper context as it relates to Pastor Rod being a racist and insensitive. If that short clip of him commenting on the Founding Father’s during the timeframe of 2020
George Floyd riots is all you have, that’s a big stretch to make the claim it was racist and/or insensitive. Can you share further details??

Hey Joshua, thanks for your message! This episode particularly was about discrimination in the organization that was displayed in many different ways! Like I mentioned in this episode, I have another episode that will drill down on race further, however there will be guests with real life experiences there, not just from my point of view. But to answer your question as far as context; Rod was called out by several high profile pastors along with the staff particularly, those that are black and brown for several reasons! First, what he said about the founders of the nation freeing their slaves was inaccurate-Thomas Jefferson did not and arguably having slaves in general is/was racist! Secondly, comparing slavery to babies with birth defects is also very offensive! Racism is still a very real issue that affects so many people and racism is a choice contrary to birth defects! This episode was touching on the many areas that I had to deal with as the HR Director and points affected many, including myself during my time there!

@@MegaManiacs-2024 Thanks for the feedback. I would point out just from the video you played that Rod wasn't being racist - he was making a point about how our Founders, like all of us, are flawed. We as a nation and people have made many mistakes along the way in our past, slavery being the worst of them all. Slavery was/is wrong, period, regardless of color or ethnicity. And Rod was wrong in that Jefferson didn't release his slaves, but him being wrong about that doesn't make him racist or insensitive - just inaccurate. I believe his overall tone was basically, "as a country we screwed up 200+ years ago, but how does rioting and expecting reparations do anything to right the wrongs of the past?" And his point about "show me a country that's done it better" is well received. We, as a country, were founded on Christian values and have been afforded amazing rights to freedom from religion in our Constitution (among other rights) - we are free to worship and serve whatever God we see fit, if any at all. You and I both know there is only 1 true God, but as a country we got it right to not allow the government to suppress our religious beliefs and tell us who to serve/what religion is acceptable.
I attended WHC for many years, from 1992 -2017. I've seen amazing miracles there, have been taught undeniable Biblical truths, experienced the presence of God powerfully, have been delivered from alcohol there through the laying on of hands - but having said all of that, I've also seen things that I flat out don't agree with - and that's all from the congregation's point of view. I know people who used to work in the business office and within some of the ministries at the church, and I know current members of the executive team. One person in particular has vouched for your character as an employee and as a Christian - and your heart comes through well received in these podcast videos. I don't believe you have ill-intent and I commend you for what you're doing. And considering all of that, I will say one thing; there's not a single time that I've ever heard Rod say anything that was racist.....insensitive maybe, but we all do that from time to time, some more than others....but he is not a racist. More than half his congregation is people of color. Why would they stick around if he's racist?? I do think you hit the nail on the head about Rod being a narcissist in previous podcasts, both him and his daughter. I can only imagine what those closed door meetings are like based on what I've seen from a congregational perspective - and having you give your experiences has been tough to hear. My hope is that possibly there is repentance for these wrongs on the Parsley's behalf, but in order for that to take place you must first admit you were wrong......not sure I see that happening honestly. From a brother in Christ perspective, I love Rod and all of those folks at WHC, and hope/pray for a positive outcome through all of this. But please tread carefully when making a claim as heavy as racism, that's not something to say lightly.

@@joshuawhitley5105I agree with you. I had the same experiences, and was there in the 80’s and early 90’s. I distinctly remember him preaching against racism. He said, “When you go to the emergency room, it doesn’t matter what color the person was that donated that blood. Our blood is all the same!” We need to be careful about calling someone racist. It is one of the worst things you can call someone. Blessings!

@@joshuawhitley5105 I have been watching these episodes, also as a church member and HPS attendee until I graduated and moved away for college. I agree with what you’ve said in this comment completely. Nobody is perfect, and there are some glaring imperfections without doubt, but that doesn’t mean God cannot and has not used them and the ministry to do amazing things for His kingdom. I also love the family and pray for the best possible outcome for all involved. I feel that the podcast is presented out of a place of compassion and commitment to those who have been hurt, which I commend! But the insinuations and labeling are dangerous. Also have concerns about the *ultimate* goal of serving as a voice for the abused and broken in the format of a podcast titled Mega Maniacs. It is said in multiple episodes that the intent is not to villainize / humiliate the family but the title itself inherently does just that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here, Joshua, I could truly relate!
