hello! i think it's possible, but the bus trip is quite long (www.kamikochi.org/plan/access shows the transport options). the bus i took only drops us at the bus stops, there's no guided tour

Hello wanna ask! I will visiting kamikochi in mid november. But the reservation for bus is already sold out! If I wanna go from matsumoto to kamikochi by train. Should I making the reservation for the ticket?

hi! i travelled by taking the train from matsumoto to shin-shimashima, then bus from shin-shimashima to kamikochi.
i only reserved bus tickets from kamikochi back to shin-shimashima, because the website said that reservation is necessary for that.
but kamikochi is closed during winter months, remember to check against your trip dates!
