A wonderful performance of what is, probably, my favorite musical piece. The deeper tone of the double bass helps bring out the spiritual side of the piece. When played on violin the obvious sensuality can overpower the deeper dimensions of the composition. [Not that I don't still love Chee-yun Kim's rendition of it.]
I know what you mean. I love strings in general, but the deeper tones of both cello and double bass are my preference. I could listen to solos on both all night, assuming the soloist can play well of course.
As in Bottesini, I am beginning to think you might be the player Mikyung Sung has most followed in interpretation because your performances sound so similar! (And of similarly amazing quality and beauty)
Catalin Rotaru-san. Bravo! It is a beautiful and wonderfully Sonata Frank very romantic. By the way, when did you a priest? Shaved same with me also 's Bravo! Let's duo of skinheads when you came to Japan next time! Satori-Keigo Hasegawa
Satori-San, I think both the sonata and Franck are romantic....haha; I will be in Japan next year (Phil is making the schedule) and I would love to see you and play with you :)

5:45 Second Movement
Double bass reach until this cello notes?
The the solo bass typically has an f# below the cellos lowest C, so pretty much all solo bass is in cello range
this is beautiful! is it your arrangement? i'd love to give it a try
it is a mix between Sankey and Levinson arrangements; but you can try either one :)

@@bassocat It does sound kinda like a Cello since we're in solo tuning. It does remind me of the Cello version arranged by Jules Delsart.
Cat, read it in Italian at loud voice: "BRAVISSIMO" ;-)
