    I worked for prestons for 10 years as a driver I remember Richard asking me are you going to potto Steve? I would say yes Richard and he would always be excited and say it’s a lovely place, big respect mr. Preston r.I.p.

    I am saddened to hear this news. I knew Mr Preston personally from 1999-2003 when I toured the steam shows of yorkshire in particular Pickering and Duncombe Park in Helmsley. I was only a lad and got on well with his family in particular Jamie and Jake his grandsons. They may remember me I had the old allwin flick ball machines on the back of a big red van. The family brought great entertainment and still do if I'm not wrong with their fantastic shows and acts from all around the country. Rest In Peace Mr Preston. All my love to yourself and family in this difficult time from your former friend and fellow steam lover Ian x

    Great video Paul,
    I 1st meet Richard in 2009 at the FOPS AGM and see him again GDSF 2009. R.I.P. Richard.

    so the showmen used up all the steam coal that wasn't theirs just in case the new owners of this show engine turned up? this engine certainly has a interesting history. I have seen Lightning being lit up at the Great Dorset steam fair
