I know. When I watched my first YT vid on possums a year ago and then Wiki'd them......such short lives. :( I sure do enjoy their night time visits in my backyard at night. 😊👍
What's the usual life expectancy of an opossum?
They're fantastic animals. It's sad because people who don't understand animals/nature mistake them for giant rats and abuse/kill them.

My parents had generations of opossums that would get fed at her back door for decades, all named George. The home and parents are gone but I see a George or two all the time ❤

There’s an opossum at a vet clinic?
Huh that's a cool disclaimer at the end. Usually it's more along the lines of "don't get an exotic animal", but I like that this one doesn't condemn the action, but rather condemns the action only when done without consulting a proper expert, first.
They look like they were assembled from spare parts from other animals. Rat tails, bear ears, koala feet, kangaroo pouches and shark jaws. God knows where the pink noses came from.
I’ve loved opossums since I was a child. They are beautiful creatures. We back on a river across from a park in DE and sometimes see them out hunting under the street lights.

So glad they are well cared for if they can’t go back into the wild. A friend had one that turned up injured and not releasable. They kept it and It was litter box trained!!

They are cute...and I thought I heard in another video they don't live very long. I just looked it up and they live up to 2 years in the wild and up to 4 years in captivity. Wow, talk about living fast and dying young.
