Should depend on house design. What I've found is most people don't do proper build for hidden roofs, causing problems later... especially waterproofing. If you're doing proper hidden roof, it wouldn't be a cost savings option. Hidden roof isn't any less compared to gable roof (your type), it's just a different concept. If you cut corners with waterproofing etc, it'll leak. It's ridiculous, some people use just tiles for waterproofing 🤦♂️
@@Bilegagn the whole point of hidden roof is to give it a box-shaped facade. It's a design concept. I know people who prefer that design. Gable roofs eventually fade and will need changing sheets or repainting since they're exposed
@@aberba My house was designed with a open gable roofing and I am at a roofing point now and wouldn’t want to make such a huge alteration to it. I’ve a rental proper I am working on that’s a hidden roof and I know this off the back and will be looking forward to it. I do hope both stand the test of time though
You should probably call the people you bought the wood from and ask whether it was bush cut or sawmill as your followers want to know. Anyways, during the time you were buying the wood, I need similar wood and from all indications your wood looks to be Esa. Your Esa was costing lower than the same kind I went and asked in the Amasaman locality. Do you mind sharing the information of the place you bought it from and their number? Thank you
Hi, this has been very helpful. I am helping to re-roof a village school in Ghana. The size of the building is 42m x 14m so we need 400 roofing sheets...? How much do you think timber is needed? I have been told the cost is rather a lot and I need to double-check.... can you help??
Eiii I was in Ghana this December and the carpenter for my 4 bedroom wood work roofing is charging me double for your price. Can pls have the contact for your carpenter or company.
Hello Jackie, Could it be that your building has a larger surface area for the roofing? Remember my building is on a half plot. Where is your project located?
You did this video about 9 months ago.. I understand prices are very high now. Can you give me an estimate of how wood work will cost currently for a house like yours? Thanks
@@AfricaBuildingHub If you want to help us, you gotta ask more questions but is most likely Sawmill since you bought them from a seller in the market lol.
Hidden roof or normal roof. Which do you prefer?

Hidden roof has a lot of problems and it also hide the beauty of the house.
Jacob I disagree if you say it hides the beauty of the house. It looks more modern and minimalistic.

So how much can this cost today in the new high prices
at least two times the cost
Which is affordable using wooden frames for the roofing or using metal frames?
I believe you should get a quote from both vendors. Prices differ from one merchant to the other
How did you get you know the estimate of the materials required especially the wood taking into account the area of the roof (roof plan)?
Floor plan can be used to get an estimate. Once the block work is done to the lentil, you get a clear picture
@@AfricaBuildingHub Thank you for your reply. How much do you know about steel trusses as compared to Timber trusses apart from the cost.
Now 2x6 is like 90 cedis
What type of wood did you use?
2x4 is 67 cedis now
2x3 is 47 cedis
2x2 is 35
