No THERESA. you’re not alone. I cringe very time I hear made up words. My family used to call Walmart Wally World. I quit responding to them and eventually they got it also they called aunt Dorothy aunt dorth. WTH is a dorth? I said. Now it’s a shacket WTH. Can we please use correct grammar. It’s either. Jacket or a heavy shirt period. Rant over. lol
My nickname in Spanish is Concha and my husband would call me Conch or Conchie. Hell no! He finally got it after pointing it out multiple times and not to kindly on the last time.
I don't really get it though because they're just words. 🤔😂 And getting mad over words isn't a battle worth picking, imo. Although I didn't like when my neighbor started calling me Heth instead of Heather. In that case it was that I perceived it as over familiarity though, because he didn't ask if that was OK to call me that.
I got a “shacket” from Walmart last fall. It was a nice corduroy, but it was an impulse buy and I only wore it twice. I was happy to send it to my cousin’s consignment shop this season. Ha. And yes, shacket is a cringy made up word, imo.
