Trains at: South Kenton, WCML/Bakerloo Line, 31/07/17

- An excellent and action packed evening spent at South Kenton station on the West Coast Mainline and London Underground Bakerloo Line where we see countless services from London Midland, Virgin Trains, Southern, London Overground, London Underground and freight from DB Cargo UK, Freightliner and GBRF.
This station was brilliant to come back to after nearly a year away from it, the monitors at the southern end of the station do tend to get in the way some times but I can't complain to much, for some reason the north bound 390 pendolinos made a horrible screaming noise when passing past the monitors. At first I thought it was because I was getting a little to close to the edge of the platform.
I had a slightly strange end after I had finished filming, I was waiting for my train to take me to Watford Junction when one of the station staff approached me asking what I had been doing the entire time I was there as apparently a couple of the LU drivers had got in contact with the control room because they were concerned about me because of the length of the time that I had spent at the station, their concern was that I was going to do something whilst I was there. So I had to convince the staff member that wasn't the case at all, I was purely doing train spotting so I showed him the film I had done and I thought that would be that. However it turns out that the BTP (British Transport Police) had been informed about me and it was actually them that got in contact with the station to get them to ask me what I was doing, safe to say I had an interesting evening.
My next station will be Birmingham Moor Street to start off my Chiltern Mainline Series.

I think the pendolinos are gorgeous when they pass by and are spectacular .
They are one of the better looking units on the WCML

Just to let you know, the London Underground signs for the numbers is the way of them identifying where each train is. So there is train 235 in South Kenton right now but number 236 is behind it and needs to be held up a bit. Keep up the good work.😀

Loved this evening video. :) The Bakerloo Line will be extended to Lewisham and Hayes from Elephant and Castle. I think London Overground should extend their Watford Junction services to Hemel Hempstead.
Whilst it would be good to see the LO stock running that far north TFL haven't and probably wont get track access to operate their trains up there because it would be seen as direct competition from the current TOC operating on the WCML

It does if you look on real time trains or track see those numbers show up that’s how they track the trains
The number on the LED screen is the 'running number which is the LU equivalent of a Headcode and the unit number is the white painted number above the driver's window.
Ah right I see, even to this day I still get confused
Never knew the tube and overhead trains were compatable on the same tracks, thats live!!

These trains are amazing bakerloo trains are good but they are old but that station is great to film at
There were some great trains passing through that day, the LU stock is definitely in need of refurb or replacement

Hey, we should record some videos of the trains at Woodside Park, Queen's Park, Wembley Central, Hendon, Harrow & Wealdstone, New Southgate, Kentish Town, New Barnet, Arnos Grove, Hyde Park Corner and Oakleigh Park one day.
Well that certainly sounds like a good plan to me

Have you ever thought of doing a london underground series? I just did. I think you'd like the Victoria line because its frequent, or the Central line which is long. Don't think you should do a Waterloo and city line series as that line only has 2 stations
So the Chiltern mainline series starts from Birmingham moor street to London Marylebone

The 377 at the start is post to be going to east Croydon right not Clapham junction

Because it runs adjacent to the line, hence why in the title I've also included the London Underground line that serves the station

Has anyone heard about the London Midland take over bid. Apparently they are losing the franchise to the new West Midlands Rail from this December

Why is it that Under and Over share same tracks
The London Overground operate trains from Watford to London Euston, the Underground operate the Bakerloo line which runs from Harrow and Wealdstone to Elephant and Castle, this means that they share some of the network
