The kids in my daughters class invented a tag game and called it Swine Flu (this was the year that the swine flu was a thing). One person was the sick person and everyone else were the healthy ones. The object of the game was to stay healthy to the end with each player that got tagged turning into an infector. The game has remained at the school for over 15 years now with slight variations after COVID came in. Now they call it Infection and use pool noodles to tag each other. A whole football field full of 4-6 graders running around with floppy pool noodles swiping/smacking.bopping the healthy to make them infected.....good time indeed.
My students played Covid Tag. All the kids run around and one person stands in the middle and points to someone they want to be IT and then switch places with them so everyone can keep their 6 ft distance.
When I was in 3rd grade I played a game called Victorian Orphans, where the fun came from creating a drastic background where you could choose your parents death!! Cholera and factory accidents were the most popular 🤣
When I was in school we played amoeba where we linked arms and moved as an "amoeba" "eating" other kids around us by trapping them in the middle. When they got "eaten" we would all scream ENTER THE AMOEBA" and they would become part of it. The objective was to see how big we could grow the amoeba before we had to go back to class. Yes it was high school...no I'm not ashamed
In fifth grade our teacher started a special time for me to interpret her dreams lol also we would include the rest of the class sometimes when we would tell scary stories or we’d do the Ouija board 🤷🏼♂️🤣
My four year old students have started some weird hunting game on the playground. The boys all run around in groups with small hand shovels chasing the girls. When they get close enough, they'll throw a shovel at a girl's head and cheer. The girls smile the whole time 🤦🏼♀️
The second graders at our school started playing red light green light this week. After a while we noticed something strange. The caller (a girl) was facing a tree and there was a boy beside the tree with his hand in the gun shape. When the caller said red light and turned around she began calling names of who was moving and the “shooter”, “shot” them as she named them. The ones who had been “shot” fell to ground as the other children continued to walk past them. Realizing what they we playing by this time we called the “shooter” over and asked “What are you guys playing?” He responded “Squid Games” another child child chimed in and said “I watch all of it!” with a proud smile on her face.
Loved the video! When was teaching Second grade some students had started a fight club. It was just like the movie - scared the crap out of us. The supervisors never went to look behind the wall ball wall, which is where it would happen!😨
Over the summer at the lake, I overheard some kids essentially playing water tag Marco Polo but it was five nights at Freddy's, so one of them was the security guard and the other was the robot lol

It’s my favorite game of all time. Everyone lies on their back on mats on the floor, hands folded on our chests in a peaceful pose of eternal rest. Eyes closed. The one rule: anyone who moves or makes any sound loses. (Snoring is not considered a sound or a movement.) Anyone who loses doesn’t get a special snack from the stash of fun-size candy bars. Anyone who loses also must SILENTLY work on vocabulary words until the game is over. Let me tell you - third-graders can be very competitive! Sometimes the game would go for a half-hour or more. It only ends when *I* say it ends, and there were days that had no losers. The entire class would lie silently on the floor for a half-hour or more! Everyone wanted a tiny Three Musketeers bar and no one wanted to work on vocabulary words… As you know, of course, there was really only one true winner - me! How else could you get in a 30-minute nap during class time? I’ve often played Cemetery with my nieces and nephews as well. My triplet nephews are terrible at it. They’re 22 now, so things like phones and Insta and the Ticky Tocky thing are somehow more important than Uncle Dave’s quiet time. I was doing recess and when I looked over to the kids they where burying one under the wood chips. When I asked what was happening they said that he died so they where burying him !
When i was little i invented a game called the great shoe jump, and we lined up as many shoes as we could find in a row in front of the couch, the game goes as forth where the contestant's had to climb the top of the sofa to the back part the highest part and jump each shoe was a point and at the end of 6 rounds whoever had the most points won... This game was only played once, as forth, this is how the one and only round of the great shoe jump went... --- I jumped then she(my bff) did jump then i went again and that's when i landed and well i broke my entire right foot every bone the doc said it looked like someone took a sledgehammer too my foot i was 6, and the game was banned for life as it should be.
I had 4 year olds play 16 and pregnant in camp on the bus to swimming lessons. They’d shove their towel under their suits. I liked when they corrected each others placement so it didn’t look like “boobies” as they said
I haven't worked with kids since the earlyy 2000's but back then, before marijuana was legal basically anywhere in the US, let alone the red sea that is Oklahoma, i had kids that would sit around in a circle during play time, pretend to roll joints, and pass them around like friggin' Cheech and Chong. Lol
I baby sat a lil girl who invited a game to play with my daughter called murder where she pretended to tie up and bury my daughter alive and told her scream for help so she can cover her mouth and told her she was going to bury her 6 feet under I’ll tell you she said this al under 5 minutes they were 4 and 5 we had to stop having her over because I brought up the concern but they didn’t want to address it. She also told my daughter how to spread her legs and scream and a baby will come I was pregnant and was uncomfortable with the show she was doing I had explain to our daughter a less graphic version after
