Thank you for making this video, along with your insights. I've been going back and forth on this one due to the walk through videos I've seen of the older version. It's a truly beautiful deck.
If the thin cardstock was the issue, that's been fixed! 🙂 I agree, it's a beautiful deck and I really love working with it. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Whoa wait a minute. There's a mass market version?? How did I miss this? It's January of 2022 now. The new version looks good and it shuffles! Yes, I'm totally getting this. Thank you❤️
Thanks for sharing this! I always thought this deck was gorgeous but didn’t purchase it because of the thin card stock. So happy the card stock has improved. Adding to wish list now 😉💚
I’m in love with Antique Anatomy Tarot. It’s my deck of the month and am pairing Oracle of oddities (3rd Edition) with it. Also, I’m Using Tarotbound to “deep deck dive” & really connect with it!
How wonderful! I love the oracle of oddities too. I'm working on getting all three editions of those so I can make one big oracle with it. And thank you so much for your pruchase of Tarotbound, I really appreciate the support!! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I haven't been able to get my hands on the mass market edition lately, I noticed it's out of stock on book depository (though the Modern Tarot Reader is available)
It's out of stock in a few places currently, hopefully be back soon. I think I heard the deck and book is the same in the Modern Tarot Reader verison, maybe someone has a comparison video on that. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Very helpful, thank you! If you have a chance, it would be great to have the measurements for the thickness of the first and second mass market editions, so we can determine which deck we receive on new orders.
The art on that deck is so pretty. I don't see myself reading with it, but I nonetheless really like the art, so now I'm trying to figure out how I can use it to have an excuse to buy it. :D
When I come across decks like that (that I love and want but know I won't read with) I use them for meditation decks, pathworking or journaling prompts. But then I'll find any excuse to buy a deck I think is pretty lol. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
This is in my wishlist, occupying the pip/antique section XD but I'm not in the hurry do I guess by the time I'll buy it book depository will have this version. Looks like the mass market light seers. I kinda wouldn't mind if I got the skinnier version though just cos my hands are small and it's easier to shuffle. Thank you!
You could get the newer version and then put it up for trade for the older version. That might help get you the thinner cardstock. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thanks for this video! I want to order it on Amazon.ca (I am in Canada) but i am afraid i will get the old card stock again if they are just trying to sell up all the old decks.
I wonder what do they do with the old decks, when the cardstock issue is addressed? Do they just keep selling them til they're gone? Or does the publisher require them to stop selling it? Thank you so much for this comparison...I know what you're gonna do with that third edition...can't wait to see!
They definitely keep selling them :( I just went to Barnes and Noble and picked it up and it’s the old card stock. I was going to order it but amazon is out of stock
I think they just keep selling the stock they have on hand until it's gone before replacing it with the new stuff. Makes it a little risky for a bit, but I do believe this new cardstock verison had been out for a few weeks now. I am so excited about the art project I have in store for it, can't wait to share it with everyone! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
That's a bummer, I know they just sell out the old stock first in the brick and mortar stores. Perhaps you can return it and ask them if they have any the newer editions in the back or something? Hopefully Amazon will restock soon, they were in stock just a few days ago (when I scheduled this video) and then the weekend hit and they were all gone. Figures lol. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
I really appreciate this video. I have hesitated purchasing this deck due to the negative feedback about the cardstock. But when I go to the sellers, I have no idea if the item I'm ordering will be the new edition or the older edition. The Amazon link lists the 2019 edition. The Barnes and Noble site has negative card stock reviews so I'm assuming it's the old edition? I not sure how I could guarantee receiving the new edition unless the seller specifically lists it as the 2020 edition. So how did you find your new edition?
I just ordered mine from amazon. I was pretty confident they had the new stock in after talking with the creator. They are at this moment out of stock (hopefully to be replenished soon). So that should mean that they are awaiting a new shipment from the publisher and that should be the new stock. I'm not sure that there is a way to know for sure, I'd say either wait for some place that's out of stock to replenish or purchase it from some place with a good return policy. Also buying from one of the major retailers like Amazon is probably more likely to have the newer stuff because they move more volume. The smaller more local stores probably don't turn inventory as quickly and so you might be more likely to get the older version. I know that's not really a super helpful answer, but I hope it helps a little. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot Thank you for explaining! Looks like a few of us here were concerned we would order and get the old dead stock and not the new edition. Good point about Amazon. They would probably be the best place due to the high volume they sell. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately I don't have any info about the EU editions. I believe that those are released through a different publisher and might not have been updated. I will see if I can reach out and get more info. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot any updates on the UK edition? No pressure of course just wondering if you have heard anything about the Uk versions card stock? :)
I don't have the box from the first one I bought, but the two books both have the same ISBN number. I haven't found any real way to distinguish between them. They are making any of the ones with a thinner cardstock so I'd probably find somewhere that's currently sold out and then wait for it to come back in stock. Chances are that will be a new shipment of decks. I hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Thanks for this review, this deck is extremely cheap in Spain, so if you speak/understand Spanish, check it “TAROT DE ANATOMIA Y BOTANICA ANTIGUAS: BARAJA Y MANUAL PARA EL LECTOR MODERNO”
It's not fair, I got the Spanish version (that came to my country) and is thin also but the back is even more light brown/grey color, I love the design but I'm afraid that break's
That's a shame, but if it's similar to the first release I was able to use mine for a long while without ever damaging it. Have you considered maybe rebacking it to give it some more structure? 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️
@@DawnMichelleTarot the box says it was made in China and have 2020 Spanish edition but is so thin I wanted even in English but is so expensive to my country that no shop wanted to bringing it and if I buy it online sure it's get "lost" on the mail

I need the Guidebook. I don't have any but I have the cards. Can I buy the guidebook only?
I am not aware of anywhere that sells just the guidebook. You could maybe check on the publishers website. I hope that helps! 🙂

I have the flimsy deck. The ISBN is 978-1-4197-3914-9, the book is 917-1-4197-3914-9
Those are the same numbers I have both on the new and the old, so I don't think the ISBN had changed any.
