This is an award winning portrait shot my goodness 😮💨.
I love watching your informative videos. And I especially appreciate that you show us "before" photos as well because many photographers or youtubers only show the "after" processed photo already and that does not help us viewers much. Thank you so much!
Your shooting style and editing is so iconic. Recognized this video immediately as I scroll through UA-cam list at 60mph lol
nice how-to, with lots of details and respect to viewers . Somehow we all once started from scratch
Good job thanks for your patience and the teaching sprit
Thank you for this video! I've been admiring these shots on Instagram, and I'm glad you gave a more in-depth description of how these shots came to life. I'm looking forward to your video about the ND filter. I'm curious to find out why you would prefer that option over one that screws on to your lens. Keep up the great work!
The video on that should be out before this weekend 😊
Fricking Amazing video as always Francisco!!
Thanks so much for this video and sharing your skills. So well explained and detailed 👏👌🏻
Much love to the Building the shot series and great to see the 20th edition Joel :) 300 Pro looks super portable addition for a traveling shooter :)
Love your videos and really got my mind thinking in the right direction. Amazing shot and thought process
Another amazing video. Great stuff as always.
Very nice, detailed tutorial. Thank you for sharing your approach! Looking forward to more.
IMHO, I would think twice about installing an internal ND filter. Seems like a perfect opportunity to introduce debris into the camera body.
I just found your videos. You have a cohesive look to your portraits. There’s something unique about your style with those creamy environmental backgrounds and foreground flash create 😅incredible separation. Almost like it’s cutout from the background. It’s a nice look. These are good tutorials. Thanks.
Yes. Sal del Rey translates to king’s salt. You must be one of the Hernandez from Manila not from Mexico. 🙂
I actually have a lot of Native American in me, but not sure from where exactly.
am here first...Love from Zimbabwe
Thanks for another great BTS. Have you considered editing the highlights on the sand foreground from the strip light in the lower right? A Solid Colour fill layer matched to the amber of the water under the log would work? One can use a Luminosity mask to target those highlights and then set the blending mode to Overlay or Softlight depending on the saturation desired. Anyway, nice shot and excellent use of the 35mm FL.
I definitely see what you mean. Looking at those highlights are a bit distracting to the rest of the image. I'll probably go ahead and fix that now before I forget. Thanks!😊
Just received my 6 stop and 10 stop (10 stop is for landscapes) last week, so I'm looking forward to seeing more content from you, relating to these filters. Thank you
Hey Matt! How do you like your filters? What are you using it on? Thanks for sharing!
Sorry! I thought your name was Matt. My name is John. Interested in buying those filters. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. Cheers! John
@@jkspinalchoice I used the 6-stop for the first time, a few days ago. I'm not 100% used to it yet, and need more practice, but I can definitely say I like them, and see the potential. I'm happy with the results from the first time, so I know I'll be happy when I'm more comfortable with them. Jump on it, dude. I feel that they're worth the price, for sure. Good NDs aren't usually this affordable. Sure, they're a little pricey when the glass size is considered, but the alternative is considerably more, as well as much larger and less convenient.
@@CraigLively Thanks for getting back to me. I am really looking forward to ordering a set. I already own 4 ND filters, and boy are they expensive! Using this ND Filter would be awesome. What camera are you shooting with? Where did you order it from? What did it cost? Thank you!
@@jkspinalchoice A7riii. Prices on website. shop.stcoptics.com/product/clipfilter_sonyff/
I like the idea for using ND filter
What You think to put on the back light CTO Jell? Will be nice orange touch of light on the model arm, orange colour will be more natural, looks nice, but where from come this white light?
Yes that's a great suggestion. Using a CTO gel would have been better for this photo.
Loving this series 👍
Great video! I didnt realize how much power is lost with HS over ND filter! Really was amazed! Loved how you tied in the environment with your beautiful model. I am interested in ordering a filter for Sony A7iii.
Thank you for the great tutorial and info! Cheers! John
Thank you for this great tutorial.
Sal Spanish for salt, Del= Of The, Rey= King. Beautiful location. Excellent explanation. Did you use an ND filter to soften background and subject?
Photos taken in RAW file? Sorry for all the questions Newbie here.
Awesome bro!
Thank you for this great tutorial sir
I use the godox ad300 pro on my channel for photoshoots.Nice video.
Loooove from Kenya 🇰🇪
Thank you so much!
Great video🤩
Hey which level of ND did you end up preferring in the end? I am trying to decide on a strength - 3 stops, 6 stops, not sure - to be used around midday and early afternoon
Wow bro, nice work.
Came on just in time 🇨🇩🙏🏿
awesome!!
Do you have a shot of the scene without the ND so we get an idea how bright the ambient was
Love the channel been a fan for a minute! Much Love / TPD
I dont want to sound like a weirdo but yeessss... The feet need lines, the body and skin have texture. Its what makes it so intresting. I respect who ever wants to do it how ever they prefer. Im just saying this, coming form someone that likes drawing human bodies and apreciates paintings and art in general. Still, the shot is really good. I like the tones and how everithing was placed. She is way too cute, I dont think I could handel a model that cute.
Definitely understand your feedback. I say on the video I went overboard and I did. One thing I hope people realize about this shot is her leg skin looks extra smooth because it's out of focus but you're correct in that I made that and the rest of her skin too soft.
Please add the flash power for every shot! I'd love a whole series of 1.2 shots with the 6 stop nd and the large parabolic.
thank you...................❤❤❤❤❤
I felt that the most impactful edit was the way you changed the colour of the sky. I didn't at all feel like it was too much. But curious how you were able to edit the colours of that select area?
awesome video
So, you are not using HSS to save power that you need to add to overcome the ND filter and you are adding chances of motion blur due to a much slower shutter speed and possibly adding colour cast and reducing image sharpness introduced by the ND filter. Did you make a semi-quantitative comparison of the trade-offs?
WHat is the name of the ND Filter? its not on your equipment list.
Just in time 🇨🇩🙏🏿
Am not seeing the ND filter in your list of gear...
Do you still use the ad400pro? How good has it turned out? Greetings.
How come people can dislike such a vdo like this? I really don't get it.
Envy is a terrible thing .. This guy is a genius
They are disliking that he dumped his bro in the middle of the night for calling out his gf racist slang use.
wow beautiful
What do you see in view finder when you have in and filter. Dives it change in live view
man i have not touch my DSLR for almost 4 years :) Thx
I'm learning a lot with your videos!!Thank you. Where can I find this clip ND filter for Nikon 610? Is it available in amazon? Please help.
I've seen people mention you can use focusing rod on this softbox, but I don't see and info on it. Have you any insight?
How are u liking that 35mm 1.2 ? I’m stuck between that or the Sony 1.8
Absolutely love it. I got it because it's the first Sigma Art lens specifically designed for the Sony E mount. So it performs amazing. The Sony 35 1.8 is nice but think about the size difference between the two. If you don't mind a bit bigger the 35 1.2 is 🔥.
Do u use continuous light for your shoots? Plzz reply 😊
No, I use the flash.
@@fjhphoto thanku 😄

What filter is this? Did I miss it? And also your link to "My Lighting Kit" is broken.

which light is most useful
Which computer you recomend to edit..
Did not find the IR-CUT ND64 filter to buy, could you tell where this is?
I can't afford your flash umbrella. can i still use a cheap umbrella.
Do they make those ND filters for Sony APS-C sensor?
damn this is it...ALOHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I want to sell/trade my AD400Pro for the AD300Pro. And def need to get that ND filter, beats swapping lens filters.
That softbox looks quality/expensive, but damn, it's HUGE.
Curious: Are you matric metering or spot metering?
What are your light settings though
nice work
I feel like you had an awful lot of adjustment layers to get the color back to what it should have looked mostly like OOC. Love your thought process though to get to the final image.
6stops ND filter, how this gonna be is standard filters ND32 or ND64 ?
ND64
please show me your camera setting 📷
Hey do you have a color grading video?
Not yet but working on one now😁
Do you have any classes on skillshare?
If you use a ND filter and stay below higspeed sync shutter speed, can you just use a speedlight and get enough light out of a softbox? Or do you have to use a strobe?
For this specific shot the 300 was barely enough. There's 300W of power in the AD300 Pro. There's only around 60-65W of power in a speedlite. So no a speedlite would have been too weak.
Where would I order the filter for sony a7iii?
How do you work around or avoid chromatic aberration
Is this hss with a nd filter?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
does it work on Sony A7III?
Do you like LR Classic better than LRCC?
Yeah, I prefer Classic because it's design is what I know already.
do you change the color temperature?
I shoot auto and do change it to fit the warmth to a certain temperature if it needs changing.
What does BTS mean please?

I shoot raw.
I really enjoy and appreciate the amount of work you put into your videos, but man learn some Spanish 😊
Hello
Sir, l love your work. After the first six minutes of commercial endorsements I lost interest in watching further. Please don’t take this as a complaint you do excellent work.
Prime example of a comment for why I'm considering making just paid tutorials.
You should've gotten a model that was ready to get down and dirty.
Thank you for this great tutorial.
