That’s like a required skill if you live in the cities of SE Asian countries or Third World countries cuz organ trafficking and human trafficking is a serious problem. Luckily for me though I live in a town near the coast where people know each other, but I did go to highschool and College in the city so I had to develop these skills.

"where do you work? did you just got off from work?" "are you a student?" "sorry if i disturbed you i just never seen someone wearing such shiny shoes" as he followed me in an elevator to get off from the train station. there was also another guy in the elevator, but he just mind his own business by texting on his phone. then as the elevator door opens, i just followed to the other guy's direction and walked faster so that the random dude couldn't ask me anymore weird, red flag questions 😂😂

Regarding her "victim blaming" it's not completely Michi's fault. The thing is safer countries like Japan or USA also gone thru that shady era as well. Even New York used to be very shady back in the 90s, even having strip clubs in Time Square. Or when Japan still in feudal time, bandits and criminals roam the land and some of them done things.
As those countries became more prosper, they try to be better. Sometimes too good they ended up became too sanitized from the cruelty of the world. Hell, I still think it's dumb that American houses have no fences or just low fences. Even when USA have great police response, but I saw a lot of crimes that's preventable just by having more obvious structures at home.
The most recent thing I heard is about this couple who went around the world. They stopped in India, sleep outside and the wife got grape ed by a gang of local men. What baffled me is how the woman then try to defend the grape eists like they're just some innocent men who don't know better. Lady, your body just got invaded, do you even have self preservation?

What is the weapon carry policy in Indo? My guess is no guns of course but how are we on knives or knuckledusters? I carry a pretty decent heavy thumb flip knife hooked to the inside of my pocket for safety/box opening. It’s heavy enough to use as punching weight but also sharp and pointed for safety purposes. That said I’m also 6’4” so i tend not to get messed with outside of drunk idiots at night at the gas station or dark parking lots.

That's the southeast asian way, Philippines is the same way. The best cheap item is always at the shadiest part of the market, and don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be sexist, but if I a man find this sketchy place dangerous, what more for a woman. It's a lot more dangerous for a woman than a man, to be travelling those sketchier areas. That's why no matter who you are travel in groups is always the best safer option, there is strength in numbers. Especially if you are woman, and be safe out there.🥰

It's not victim blaming to warn people to not get in a burning house. Just because the fireman haven't arrived yet (or don't exist because asshole government put money elsewhere), doesn't mean danger isn't real, even if it's your house and you have the right to be there. It's important to be aware that sometimes there are dangers that are not supposed to be there but are, and it is a logical consequence that putting yourself at risk increases the odds you will be harmed. The exact details of how to fix things change a lot from situation to situation, but even if the existence of the danger is someone else's fault, once you're mentally mature enough to be aware and understand what the situation is, it is a dumb move to open the door to the danger when you have the voice not to.
But of course, way too much nuance with this topic; way too many subtle ways things could be different that significantly change which arguments would make sense etc, can't fit even all arguments in a single comment, or even explore all nuances in a discussion thread. But TL;DR; we don't live in a perfect world, don't be dumb if you have the choice.

I kinda do victim blame sometimes, because most of the time these cases happens, it's always loners going to the skechiest of areas. Absolute zero survival skills. Like why are you there? Even male friends go there in groups. You're a customer there, but you can be the product as well if you're not careful. Like think about it, lah. Why do you think the police haven't cleared that area yet? It's either crime is too thick police can't do anything about it, or the police is in cahoots with them.
Also, this happens all over the world. Even in Japan, stay clear of Taishi, Osaka or Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Hell, New York City as well. But yeah, please be careful everyone.

Not saying I know the Indonesian people but isn’t Indonesia a muslim nation? From what I do know of arabic countries isn’t being a young single women walking around without a male escort asking for trouble? If so, how would she not know that? Is the creep who said “racist” things maybe associating her pale skin with being non muslim and thus fair game for assault? For a muslim woman to bear only her calves is enough to run afoul of sharia law in some places. How is she not putting two and two together? I’m confused.

Much of what you are saying is definitely something that still happens today in western countries too. And with all genders too. But yeah...
It really is a societal problem... ~.=.~
Also: I'm still so happy to see such an awesome Indonesian person here. My dad's side of the family is Indonesian so I'm so happy to see and hear stuff from you about Indonesian culture and everything.
