This Seasonal Marsh Pattern Just Kicking Off!

- It's official: Spring has sprung.
Some people get clued into that by noticing buds on azaleas, pollen covering their cars or bird nests in potted plants.
For me, it's when speckled trout enter one particular pattern -- setting up in bayous to feast on young spring bait stocks. They're always joined there by redfish and flounder, and if my most recent trip is any indication, it's going to be a banner year for the latter!
Check out the video for all the details.

Salt Strong (bit.ly/40PercentOffPrawns) - Спорт
Those flounder looked beautiful and delicious. Flounder tacos, flounder po’ boys, flounder Étouffée, smoked flounder, flounder sautéed in a lemon cream sauce, flounder oscar……….
In that area, instead of bouncing the jig, reel it in straight really slow. You'll get more bites most of the time.
Nice!! I would love to see how you launch your boat solo. Always something that makes anxious
That was a great red fish you caught.❤❤
Another nice video.
Good job !
Went to Marsh Island yesterday, nothing but cats and a stingray.

What setting on your Humminbird are you using for SONAR?
Hi Todd, great video as always. Question, what type of boat cleanup do you do after each salt water or brackish water fishing trip. I’m looking 👀 into some in-shore boat options and really like the Avid Boat side console 19ft design too.
I hose the boat down, and wash it with a mixture of Dawn dish soap and a tiny bit of bleach. That's it.
Can you do a "long term" like/dislike on the new boat... Thank YOU! In the market!
Need a flounder recipe baw
Check out the video coming later this week
Great video but you didn’t throw your SB 57 . I want to get one what color would you recommend

Hey Todd since you brought the subjects up, all 4 what do you think caused the great decline of the Flat Fish ? I agree w/your opinion that the 45 day closure for keeping flounder seems to be working. I wonder if Texas and Alabama are seeing positive results from their closed seasons ? As always, enjoyed the video and since you kept 3 flounder will you be calling Joel over for dinner w/you and the Mrs ?😮
The simple truth is the decline was due to the opening of the Bonnie Cary spillway year after year. Once they stopped the fishery started coming back if it was already on its way back before they put the restrictions out there of course the restrictions make it to where there’s more fish, but there comes a point where there’s too much restriction like in this case they were back on an incline before it opened now they’re saying that because they did it they’re coming back stronger. Well that’s a false narrative. They were already on their way back and just say that because we close it made it a stronger come back proves that they did it for political reasons and that is to stop us from being able to feed ourselves and our families if you have a family of five or six people and you’re surviving on what you can catch and you happen to be the only hunter gatherer in the family these regulations stop you from being able to take care of your family. That’s the plain simple facts. and you have to remember it’s not the physical actual scientific biologist that are setting these rules. It’s the government officials above them who know nothing about any of it who are making the rules.
Although it may not fit a narrative, the fact is that biological data had shown a dramatic decline in flounder populations across the entire state, and Louisiana's head saltwater finfish biologist, Jason Adriance, led a strong charge to reduce harvest. The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission agreed, ultimately settling on a closed season, and it was the right decision. Having said that, flounder were showing signs of a rebound before the first closure was implemented, and may have come back to sustainable levels on their own, but for obvious reasons, the annual closures have sped that up, and led to more flounder in the water.
Todd, on your typical solo trip, how many hours are you spending on the water? Obviously dog days of summer will be shorter trips, but in general?
Anywhere from 1-10, but I guess an average would be 5-6
@@MarshManMassonIve been trying to figure out if it makes more sense for me to bail on bad days, or grind it out, even if it turns into all day. I fish a lot, probably 2-3 times a week and I’ve gotten to the point where if I’ve gotten zero bites after a few hours of running around and trying, I will give up and head in, but that always leaves me wondering “did I give up too easily?” lol
@@MarshManMassonand since I’m never really looking to do a meat haul, it works for me but still makes me wonder when so many times you find them at “the last spot” lol
Todd, do you ever worry about putting bug spray on your hands and then handling the bait? Or does MR not have any effect?
And what is the total length of your boat when using the collapsible tongue you have? I'd like to upgrade my boat, but also need to park it ands a small SUV in the two car garage.
Probably mostly a vanilla scent for gnats not like normal bug spray. Might have a different effect if typical bug spray even has an effect.
I've seen no ill effects from the scent of Marsh Romance transferring to the lures I use.
Before I bought my boat, I went to an Avid dealer and measured the distance between the tip of the prop to the collapsible tongue to ensure the boat would fit in my garage. I don't remember exactly what that length was, but I'm sure Avid can tell you -- if you don't have a dealer nearby where you can go and measure it yourself.
@@MarshManMasson Thanks for responding Todd!
Where is this marsh?
He will never ever say !!!
