Ooh love that the example is a strappy bodice. I have a similar pattern to yours and struggled using other methods where its a full bodice block.

Good demonstration but what if you don't have a waist dart?

You can create one to move the fullness but just dont sew the waist dart. U just need a hinge point to move the extra fabric
