Thank you so much for sharing. Now I might be able to do this and want to wear it in public when I'm finished. Also Xtra thank you for not using an annoying loop of music.
You are a genius. Like always. You are my best. You bring smile on my face and I feel so happy when I watch your shared videos. Thank you thank you thank you 😊
This is brilliant! I have problems with armhole gaping when I sew, and I was afraid that if I made a dart in the armhole that it would be too noticeable. It is not, though. I had tried rotating the fullness into the bust dart, but that made the bust dart too pointy. I am going to try this method.
Me too. I wonder if the people who design sleeveless tops, realise that women’s bodies are curved and we have bosoms! 😂😂😂 This was genius - I’m off to get my tops out and alter. ❤
Will go and fix a few of blouses with this, but how about those with sleeves? I have a few with loose and shaggy sleeves. Thank you for sharing this, at least can fix those without sleeves.
Hi, Thuy. Thank you for your video! Could you advise what can be done if there's some looseness higher in the armhole, closer to the armpit? Would this trick also work?
ok but what about a knit fabric like t shirt material? still shoulder and side seam, with one side usually needing slightly more removed from one side of the shoulder seam than the other side. But very good solution for all kinds of flat weave fabric top fit issues, thanks.
Nice! But you need to try on the dress again after sewing the darts, to make sure you took in enough of the loose fabric. You may need to make that dart deeper/wider.
That adjusted cut into the armhole over the dart would be too deep into the fabric for me…too much side boob to spill out. Will have to just suffer thru adjusting these sorts of things using the side seam reduction method…
Anyone who ever did a bit of dressmaking could tell you you need darts for the bust and armhole to fit. However that is quite a job putting in a dart after the garment is finished. Got quite a bit of unpicking and some tricky sewing.
Stop sewing 1" from the bust point or you will have a Madonna pointy shape on the top of each breast. Google Madonna if you're too young to get that...ha! Anyway, you'll find it more flattering.
That was a lot of work and luckily it turned out right. The stitches are usually too tight to go back in there and reconstruct it. You end up w holes and torn up seam allowances. I wouldn’t buy it to start with or just give it to the Salvation Army.
I’ve been sewing the side seam for years! Now I know better. 😊. Thanks for sharing your talent. It’s really helped me out.
This looks like the best way to conquer this problem. I will definitely be using this tip, thank you for sharing.

Omg! You are too good. Showed us the easiest way to fix this problem.
So helpful! Would love to see a whole "simple alterations" series!
Such as, Is there a way to take bulk out of the crotch seam on wider leg shorts?
Thank you Thuy. You make sewing look so easy and enjoyable. You're a very good illustrator.
You are a master of your craft. I love watching your work.
Nice demonstration but some commentary would be helpful.
Fabulous work….so happy to learn this trick…thank you!!!
Thank you for this video I tried this method as I had a dress and it was too big but this method worked perfectly. Again thank you
You are a genius.

You have such talent 🙂
Ah, clever. I always take it up through the side seam and it never looks right!
My god I have this issue with every sleeveless dress that I stitch . Thank you for this video ❤️

Thanks for not have any annoying music in the video!👍

Ja, finde ich auch.
Хорошая работа. Выточка из проймы мне нравится больше чем из бокового шва.
Gute Idee. Ich hatte schon lange danach gesucht.
Thanks for a great tip. How did you match the same measurement with other arm hole?
Thank you for helping me understand sewing
Excellent ! 👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you for this video very helpful. Greeting's from South Africa
I'm little (under 5 ft) but have to buy a larger size top due to dd/ddd's and have this armhole problem all the time. Thanks.

ياريت تعملينا فستان بلا أكمام وتوضحين هذه المشكلة
This is amazing! What can I do if I have knit fabric? It’s so difficult to undo the bias. It keeps ripping.
You are so talented ♥️

Great advice

I wish I could alter my clothes like you do. I have nice Tshirts that are just too bid for my waist.

I think it is a good trick for ready wear.
Bravo👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Looking like this also would be a great idea for adding darts for women with narrow upper chest but large breast cup size?
Спасибо.
Perfect work! Thank you
excellent tip
Genial!👏
What sewing machine are you using here?
Looks good on the front, but the back remains about 3 or 4 cm bigger and will come forward...🤔
I was taught to always start sewing from the arm to the bust when doing a bust dart otherwise it makes a point at the bust
Without commentary it's hard to figure out what you are doing
Welcom
What was wrong with taking it in under the arm. Much simpler, the only time I would do what is suggested is if the bust was making it gape
Plz show how to fix nd cutt the sleevs on this type of armhole.
Cô Thuý may thật đẹp, cám ơn cô...thường thì tôi "nhíp" trên lằn may vai hoặc lằn may ở nách...bây giờ thì biết làm sao rồi...đẹp. Once again, thanks.

Thanks. Commen problem for me.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤👍
Great tips thank you, but it looks like you should have taken it in that much again.
Good but your 1 armhole is deeper than other armhole
🌹
😍
I like my women silent and helpful.
🎉🎉🎉
Oysa bunun daha kolay yolu var gibiydi😅
👍👍😘😘🌺🌺
No sound???
🙏🙏🙏
RONG CUTTING ,,6, 6 1/2 , HOBO LAGE ,,
Where is the pattern?😍
too lengthy process 😅😅

I agree. Also . Good luck matching the darts. Very hard to do!!!
Easier to go at the side seam.
And you get darts ending at the nipples 🎯
