I don't normally comment, but I'm annoyed and sadly unsurprised that there are people in the comments taking it so hardcore seriously. I play with my friends all the time and I know even during basic games just trying to farm sometimes I can't keep a stream of thought going, let alone in Arena where you're trying to, like you said, absorb a load of information while formulating thoughts IRT to the game AND be entertaining. The mental stack is insane and I applaud you everytime I watch a vid. I won't tell you to ignore the comments since that defeats the point, but just know that myself and my friends appreciate you, at least. Also, any loser that's mad about suboptimal gameplay can just play on the PBE themselves if they're so pressed about it.

I don't play league except for a game of aram every so often and a little tft, but you're content is still so enjoyable because your personality. It takes me back to a good time just having fun with a game I would play on the daily.
While I can't say that I'm the most regular viewer of the channel I do enjoy your videos on arena since you are one of the few not trying to optimise everything from day 1. My recommendation to avoid negative comments is as follows: 1. Don't respond to negative comments. Showing that you're reading them and it's affecting you is a surefire way to get more of them since you're feeding the trolls and the attention-hungry. 2. Don't make absolute statements. For example, "there was nothing I could do" or "this is unwinnable." This draws out the sort of people that will scan the video frame-by-frame to prove that there was something you could have done. 3. Don't fish for pity too often. While it's an easy ego boost every once in a while, doing it too much results in losing the good commenters or at least the ones willing to put up the facade. Viewers are a parasocial relationship, and people that settle with parasocial relationships tend to be socially maladjusted. This means getting any sort of community or following through things like Twitch or UA-cam will result in an abnormal percentage of people that won't know how to communicate thoughts in socially acceptable ways.

Hey Ross, don't let the haters get you down. Somehow the youtube algorithm recommended your channel to me which I have not watched you since probably quite literally 10 years ago when I used to play. I don't play league except for a game of aram every so often and a little tft, but you're content is still so enjoyable because your personality. It takes me back to a good time just having fun with a game I would play on the daily.

While I can't say that I'm the most regular viewer of the channel I do enjoy your videos on arena since you are one of the few not trying to optimise everything from day 1. I hate that mindset on fun game modes, even riot called it "a mode for the dreamers and the memers" but people just want tier lists of the most broken builds to play over and over again.

Bro i was laughing so hard when you were telling people to stop being egg heads. Its actually confusing to me that people spend their energy putting negative comments on a youtube video. Like, do they realize that they're just giving you more traffic? Dummies, the lot of them
My recommendation to avoid negative comments is as follows:
1. Don't respond to negative comments. Showing that you're reading them and it's affecting you is a surefire way to get more of them since you're feeding the trolls and the attention-hungry.
2. Don't make absolute statements. For example, "there was nothing I could do" or "this is unwinnable." This draws out the sort of people that will scan the video frame-by-frame to prove that there was something you could have done.
3. Don't fish for pity too often. While it's an easy ego boost every once in a while, doing it too much results in losing the good commenters or at least the ones willing to put up the facade.
Viewers are a parasocial relationship, and people that settle with parasocial relationships tend to be socially maladjusted. This means getting any sort of community or following through things like Twitch or UA-cam will result in an abnormal percentage of people that won't know how to communicate thoughts in socially acceptable ways.
I definitely don't respond to them because honestly, these people commenting are viewers, just thought i'd put it out into the ether that i'm not like, a faceless bunch of 1s and 0s on the internet all the time and I don't wanna say they "hurt my feelings" but yeah man they get to me - I definitely don't wanna pour energy into people actually just being dicks for the sake of being dicks - i'd way rather put my thought and appreciation into people like yourself who write thoughtful messages like yourself.
