I’ve done a lot of sculpting on 1:6 scale horses. I really appreciate this video, because collectors are always asking these questions about how to repair broken ears, tails, legs, etc. Thank you for sharing!! 💜🐴

Oooh, I hadn’t thought about it from a repair viewpoint. I’m glad it’s helpful for that too!!

Fabulous tutorial, thank you! I have a question however, about the wires in her ears... How to you get them in there? Do you drill a hole for the wires in the bottom of the (cured) ears? I make ears *very* similar to this but I don't use wires (I'd like to, tho). I can't figure out how to get the wires in the bottom of the (hardened) ears. I either break/shatter the "tail" of said ear, or draw blood from my personage, or both (most often the case). I've tried putting the wires in before the ears fully cure, also, but that leads to smooshed ears, twisted ears or both. And the wire falls out because the"seal" in the clay has been loosened from all the twisting and smooshing.
Thanks in advance. Your videos are just awesome! ❤️

I didn’t think I would need the wires until after they hardened 😅 So yes, I did drill them after. I taped them to my table to secure them (I didn’t want to drill while holding those tiny things), then drilled a little hole with my smallest twist bit. The other thing I could have done was not cut them so high up when I removed them from their bases. That would have given me more to glue inside the head without wires.
