  • In this video my buddy Adam harvests some Gooseneck Barnacles and mussels and cooks up a storm. The perfect day of Coastal Foraging on Vancouver Island. Sunshine, Fresh Hand picked Seafood and good company. What an incredible day.

The beach you left from is such a special place to me. Every summer as a kid we went there and enjoyed the west coast lifestyle for a week.

Cleaning, eating, dripping and dumping skins and barnacle gunk right over all of the cooked ones. Very appetizing for the others, I'm sure!

Besides ginger, try adding lemongrass into your soup base for an incredible aroma & taste next time.

Check the regs in the area you are harvesting in.

the location has intentionally not been mentioned

Well, you don't have to be "specific" -- something general will do. But the complete absence of location is noticeable.

you forgot to leave the mussels for 24/48 hrs in a seawater bucket to let them spit out sand.

yea there wasnt much time between harvesting and eating but they did soak for like an hour lol - was still good but i usually try to soak them for a few hours. not quite 24 hours though thats a lot!

That's not the way you take mussels and barnacles off the rocks and there is a limit on mussels and barnacles and it looks like you went way over the limit.
