  • Double check the Sticker in the fridge for the correct amount of Freon this system needs to run efficiently. Too much freon or Not enough will make the compressor run more and temperatures will not be reached.

    Im trying to fix my nightmare Samsung French door fridge. You are the only one who gives the psi rating for the coolant. I’m trying it your way. Let’s see if it works.

    Did you check 0 on the gage before you connected the system. Every gage has adjustment screw on the right side of the dile. You have to unscrew glass or acrilic cover and turn screw rifght or left so the niddle stop at 0.

    Do you have a pressure recommendation for R600A? I probably overcharged my fridge and lowered the pressure to 5psi. It’s running and working now, but it’s still frosting in the back.

    If you open the bullet valve and bleed out without a recovery tank... will all the freon evacuate the system, or will some stay in the compressor/condenser/evaporator/tubing as a liquid?
    Can a system be overcharged and NOT show an excessive amount of PSI?
    Wondering,.............. Thanks.

    I think my "tech" overcharged my fridge after compressor change.
    it calls for 7.76 oz and he put at least 2.5 cans and got the pressure to 25 psi.
    The line takes about 5 minutes to freeze up. I should not run the fridge until I bring the psi down to 10 psi right?

    Added too much freeon myself because the hose wasn't tight enough on the bullet valve. As a diyer can I buy the correct equipment to evacuate the freon?

    QUESTION is that 5 to 6 psi static pressure or running pressure?
    Thank you!

    Bro..I arrived at a store today that had a warm sandwiches cooler I saw the pressure was at 23 when it should be 17-19, so I released some getting to 18.5 several hours later I get a call the cooler is at 26 degrees! Any idea how this could be happening?

    Thanks for a great instructional video! On my Amana fridge/freezer, when the compressor kicks on at the start of a new cooling cycle, a light frost forms on the copper line running from the freezer compartment back to the top half of the compressor. The frost only stays for about 30 seconds, then fairly rapidly melts off in a distinct line traveling away from the compressor, then the copper line is wet. Once the compressor is running, the copper line is dry and at about room temperature. Is that likely to be an overcharge of R134a? (Both fridge and freezer are operating at 40F and 0F degrees accordingly, but the appliance does seem to run for a while).

      Has it been recharged of Freon. ? I recommend checking the temperature with a thermostat gun or the ones you leave inside. If for some reason a temperature sensor inside the fridge went bad then it will not read the right temperature making the compressor run more then normal. If you check the temperature and it is off by a lot then a sensor is the issue. If it was overcharged then that also does affect the efficiency of the system. But like you mentioned it is a light frost then it just has a bit extra. That won’t affect it much unless it was completely frozen. So start by checking the temperature and let me know what you get.

    will too much freon cause the compressor to make more/loud noise on start up, and then quiet down after a few seconds? I have a Samsung French door. The fridge is at a good temp but the freezer is only getting to about -3 and ice cream is soft

      but my lines are not frosting at the compressor. The original problem was compressor was running louder and then one day, not cooling. also had a 81E error (compressor not starting). I got it going by hitting with a rubber mallet on startup. I added a can of R134a (12A) but I see the can says equivilant to 18oz 134. I also added 2oz of refrigeratant oil for 134. The label in the fridge says Design pressures (high/low) 230PSI/103PSI, so I thought the low side should be 103. It's at 50 now. capacity is R13rz / 160g(5.64oz) so I'm guessing way too much??

    I have mine at 5 and it’s still frosting over. Should I let more out? And will it damage it if I leave it at that?

      Check inside the fridge and on the sticker it will say how many ounces. Let me know what that is

    Hi ve changed the compressor but icecream in it stays soft it’s refused to harden when put in a soft state what could be the issue

    • @JesseApplianceRepair
      @JesseApplianceRepair  2 роки тому

      if you have changed the compressor make sure there is enough Freon Gas in the system to cool properly. on the model of the machine it will tell you how much freon to add... usually is about 6-10 ounces... if you add more then normal that also causes an issue not to freeze or cool properly

    Evidently there's a leak or it wouldn't have a piercing valve on it Freon stays in their permanently unless it is leaking so it's not going to do you any good unless you fix the leak

    You can't put refrigerant back in the 30 lb tank.. There is a one way safety valve on them. You need to use a recovery tank.

    • @JesseApplianceRepair
      @JesseApplianceRepair  2 роки тому

      Yup that is correct. I just wanted to give a quick simple example and I should have mentioned a recovery tank and not the one the freon comes in .
