Fairly certain we passed you just outside Flagstaff. Your new truck and trailer combo and setup are unique enough to be fairly certain anyway. Fellow Canadians passing in the desert. Safe travels.
Terrific video Ray! I always enjoy how you show the satellite view of your route. We are pretty new to RVing and route planning seems to be the thing we are struggling with most. My preference is to avoid big cities even if I have to go miles farther but then you have to worry about finding gas stations that will accommodate the rig and campgrounds along the way. I guess that's just part of the learning curve we have to work through. Keep up the great videos, we enjoy them all! Safe travels to you too!
After 4 months at an RV park in Tacna, AZ I left Monday & dry camped that night at Cabela's in Glendale, AZ. I was at Costco Tuesday when the doors opened & immediately headed North after picking up a prescription. I stayed in Barstow Tuesday night (incredibly windy!) & am spending two nights at an RV park in Tulare, CA. I'll head to Sacramento tomorrow to spend the weekend with my son & his family but the forecast is for rain all weekend. I'm working my way back home to McMinnville, OR and was hoping to avoid the rain but no such luck. Any forecast I look at shows rain for the next few weeks. I'm still jealous of your new truck but happy for you. Safe travels.
Sure looks like you gave the new diesel truck a good testing, like a kid in a candy store using that exhaust brake. Thanks again for using the map to explain you’re route. 👊👍😎
I so enjoy seeing your Snowbird Trip! I'm sitting here with my cup of coffee this morning watching your video. I take notes of the places I would like to go and your information has really helped me to put it all together! I so look forward to your trip along the coast!
Nice and useful video. Good Luck Ray , you have long way to home. We are back to home and still waiting for spring under freezing rain and strong cold wind
We will look up Mobil Homesteading when it is time for us to hit the road. He looks like he really does a good job. We also like his views. Thanks Ray for the trip
Ray we have been following you for a few years now and we really enjoy your travel adventures. So I have a question that I was hopping to see if you can answer or make a recommendation. I really want to purchase a Drone but I am not sure which one to purchase. I am a Android user if that helps. Thanks in advance for any comments. I have purchased many of the items your have reviewed and recommended. Mark
Thanks, Mark! I have to admit I know little to nothing about drones. But in my mind, I'd want to buy one of the better-known brands so that the parts and accessories are readily available. I think two big things I'd want are long battery life and the lowest noise possible. Nothing worse than a loud annoying drone flying around. It's one reason I've never bought one, that and I have other things I wanted more. :) Cheers, Ray This one looks pretty good - www.dji.com/mavic-pro-platinum
We spend our time in Needles...proximity really works for three states. The road from Searchlight to Nipton with the Joshua tree forest... IS the largest in the world. that solar system on I 15 is truly amazing. will be heading back north to Pender Island late April....Been down to Yuma recently and over to Los Algadones, Mexico...safe driving, and keep up the work.
Have you guys visited this place. wildcatzoo.org/. Its an organization that is working to save the worlds exotic felines. Near Rosamond, California. 10 dollars to get in and they have some really beautiful cats.
We usually stop in Hollister and driveway camp at a friends place and day trip to the coast. Find it so busy to tow and camp anywhere on 1 near San Fran. Last time I visited Big Sur in the spring, you could barely find a parking space to pull over into. :( Spring flowers were amazing, though. I guess there are just too many people living in the region now. Cheers, Ray
Google says the routes are 2 minutes difference in time and 5 miles but the CA roads from Laughlin to I40 are in terrible shape and curvy, I'd rather stay on NV highways as long as I could.
We head there from Paso Robles a few times a year, and grated, the River Road is rotten but getting better. I'll take 95 then hang a right to I40. Not too much traffic, fuel stops are ok and a "fun" drive on 58. Boron is such a garden spot but it does have a fantastic Mexican restaurant. Enjoy the journey.
Really? I haven't had any issues, never been pulled over in California. I find fuel is about 25% higher on average than in Arizona but a little cheaper than back home in British Columbia. Cheers, Ray
Nice recap. The grade out of Primm NV is no joke. Have to make sure to keep an eye on the temperature gauge if hauling heavy! The Ivanpah facility is a joke. It takes huge amounts of grid energy to run overnight. And kills hundreds and hundreds of birds that happen to fly between the mirrors and the towers. I still don't understand why regular solar panels weren't used instead. Would've been way less intrusive to the area as well.
There was a couple flashes of what looks like a title page? Another channel I follow Flying Sparks Garage had it happen in a video they posted today too. Could be a u toob main bus B undervolt?

Safe travels Ray!
Thanks. :)
Use Park Advisor app. Another 1 hr up the road probably is dispersed camping. Check it out.
Thanks, I have that app. :)
Enjoy these updates with the maps and all the info. Well done.
Kingman is cool

Great video Ray. Always enjoy your travel summaries and you do a great job of narrating the highlights to check out along the way.
Thanks. :)

Sounds like you are making good miles Al. Safe travels. Cheers, Ray
Hello from Willamina, Oregon. Yep, more rain, but we seem to be getting breaks into between and of course, it is a warmer rain😉.
Safe travels!
Yeah. Hit me hard. I have gas not diesel. LOL
Sure looks like you gave the new diesel truck a good testing, like a kid in a candy store using that exhaust brake. Thanks again for using the map to explain you’re route. 👊👍😎
Yes, have close to 4000 towing miles on it now, loving it. Sure flattens out the terrain. :)

Ray, Thanks for another great video. Truly appreciate the three new places to stay during our 2020 RV trip out west. Be Safe and Be Well.
Great to watch you two travel & the stops you make, can't wait to go to get my fifth in Florida after 6 weeks of being sick
Twin Arrows was OK for the buffet on Friday.
We will look up Mobil Homesteading when it is time for us to hit the road. He looks like he really does a good job. We also like his views. Thanks Ray for the trip
Enjoyed the play by play description of your travels. Some day will we'll put together a cross country trip out west but it's a long way from NY.

Thank you Ray, I've wanted to stop at Peggy Sue's every time I pass by but never get a chance. ;-)
Birds that fly over those solar facilities are vaporized.
I imagine, looks like it would be pretty hot!

I think those are part of the solar array and collecting data.

No, haven't heard of it before, look interesting, though my cat-allergic wife may disagree, haha.
Here is where I heard of it. They visit the place. ua-cam.com/video/qmc9xdjQ5IE/v-deo.html
Love your vids ray, is there a flying j or pilot servtce station at the casinos ?
No, not the ones I was at but plenty along the Interstates.
Cherry is one of my favs too ^5 Ann
Just curious if you get out by Half Moon Bay, California on your return journey?

If you were going Mojave why not just head to I40 to the south, and punch it! I40 from laughlin is only a few mile

We used to fly B-52's low level in the St John area.
Be careful in California anything over size is getting a ticket and will be constantly hassled be the police and gas prices are insane..good luck

Are you guys gonna have a need up in California
No, won't be in California very long, going to visit a few friends and then heading to Oregon.
@@LoveYourRV Thank you

HA!! I finally caught it to see what it was.... now that I know.....
It's just the title page.
Fun times! Peggy Sue's is just 8.1 miles from my favorite BLM camping spot.
What was that!!??? It flashed while you were talking about the snow.
Not sure what you are referring to, maybe my mouse clicking on the map?
There was a couple flashes of what looks like a title page? Another channel I follow Flying Sparks Garage had it happen in a video they posted today too. Could be a u toob main bus B undervolt?
Weird, must be a UA-cam glitch.
It's the title page flashing every few minutes.
@@laurieberg2880 you're right. Pretty interesting.
