This little dog just makes me happy to watch. Even a video where you’re showing me how to walk him better and brush his teeth and clip his nails. I don’t even own a dog but he’s so cute it makes me smile and my afternoon happy. Thank you from the USA 😘

Nello is gorgeous. Such a cutie. Teeth-brushing is a challenge for me and my greyhounds, but at least they like the taste. Keeping nails clipped is a bigger challenge as they hate this chore. But we're all happy once it's done.

Thank you 🥰 and yea it‘s not Nello’s favorite either but it‘s necessary 😌

I have the same issues with my Whippet. Nail clipping is a full Olympic wrestling event. Teeth brushing is not great either, I can't get her to open her mouth up to brush the inside of the teeth, or just get the outside of the back teeth. Sheesh!

Your programs are exellent and accurate .
Your dialogue is calm and unobtrusive.
I cannot conceive of the notion that an Iggy could EVER be found abandoned or subjected to pain in training 👹 We human beings have knowingly and wilfully removed dogs from their “ natural” environment therefore we have to be altogether responsible for their total wellbeing . No arguments.
These Iggies are so full of emotion ! They are super intelligent in this respect.
I am in the UK at the moment and have found a friend to care for Tortoise and Beetle in our home. However I still feel terrible about leaving them for four weeks.

6:37 This is what we call a lovely "grenouille" (frog) position.
We like also a "scarf" position, when the Iggy is sleeping around the human's neck.
BIG hello to Nello from a fellow Iggy living in Paris! :)

Oh my googleness!! I'm in love with Nello! Thank you for sharing. I have a Whippet, she's not as loving unfortunately 😔, I love her to pieces. I have been entertaining the thought of getting a cutie Iggy.

Girls are not as affectionate as boys, but I prefer females for several reasons. They mature faster, tend to take to potty training a little sooner, don't smell as musky as boys and are a little more independent. If you get a boy iggy, be prepared for the little guy to urinate his chest often.

I would love an Italian Greyhound as a pet but I am in an electric wheelchair. Will one of these be OK with this?

There are no links to the harnesses in the blog post…it would be super helpful to know where both the y shaped and 3 point harnesses came from.

Great video and thanks for your tips. We pick up our little iggy boy end of February. We have two Boston terriers, both good with other dogs so hopefully they all get on well.
How did you kind things with Nello’s legs? We have heard that their legs are very prone to breaks, but everyone we’ve spoken to says they’re ok.

Give them bone/joint supplements as early as possible. And spay/neuter within 3 yrs. This helps them to develop stronger bones. Also, allowing them to run everyday helps and making sure they don't jump from high places.

Nello is such a lovely boy😊 I was wondering if he is a picky eater, and if he’s ever sensitive to certain foods? I have two Iggys, and one of them has a tendency to throw up.. does Nello throw up at all? Just curious because there’s not much information on this issue and seems like everyone feeds their Iggys quite differently. Would love to hear your perspective, thank you!

      Thank you 🥰
Nello is very picky, put luckily not sensitive at all. He only very rarely throws up. There could be many reasons why your Iggy does that, one of them being low blood sugar as well. It’s definitely not uncommon, you just need to work out what it is exactly 😊

My tip : Dont use an extending style lead. This will teach your dog bad habits that they are free to roam.
For a puppy extending leads are a bad idea for learning to walk well.
For dogs that really hate nail clipping time: Get a partner to hold the dog under the belly with legs dangling. They are less willing/able to struggle. Use a torch or stand near a bright light to illuminate the nail - you can see the quick inside the nail even on dogs with black nails.
