    Damn that’s impressive, well done! I just traded my rhino on a new x4 this week. I love my new x4 but will always love the old rhino as well!

    That thing rips pretty good! I like how he says it's a torque machine. That's what I want is that low end power.
    Was the 777 as big as you can go safely or do they make bigger kits?

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  3 роки тому +1

      The 777 is as big as you can go to have a long lasting reliable machine anyway. Not sure if you can get any bigger jugs or pistons for a 686 yami off the top of my head but even our build has room for more power if we want.

    Love the Rhino build.. Awesome job. Did you post a parts list of the motor build?

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  Рік тому

      I didn’t as I actually didn’t buy the parts but Greg, the owner, did. If you are wanting to know what exactly went into the build contact James from JBS (where Greg got all the parts) and ask for the parts list for a 777 stroker build like the Raging Rhino Build on Appalachian Mountain Riders. He’ll be able to let you know everything that went into it!

    Now that it's been a while since Raging Rhino is done, how has the durability? Is it still running good?

    Hey! I'm loving your output! I have a quick question. I recently purchased a 2012 and want to install additional lighting on the front. I don't want a bar, as I'd prefer something a little more dunebuggy, orbs and such. Any suggestions? Thanks and take care...Lee

      Honestly, it’s hard to beat Harbor Freight or Amazon specials. Do they put out the light like the more expensive brands, no, but they put out enough and are a vast improvement over stock headlights. The little light bar I run on the front on my Pioneer 500 was a Harbor Freight cheap-o and it’s been going strong for over 4 years now. Not only are they a tenth the price they also don’t seem to draw as much amperage as the more expensive brands so you can get away with out dual battery’s.

    I wanted to ask you when you put your rings in the piston the rings come with a15mm end gap ratio did you leave them alone or did you set the gap a little higher I heard 18mm and 21mm

    Great vid! I have a stock rhino 700 and the max speed is 37mph but i feel like it could go faster but it feels like theres a speed limited. Is there anyway to bypass this ‘speed limiter’ ? Any help would be great

      Aftermarket CDI box

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 роки тому

      First thing is check you cvt for wear as you will loose speed if there is. Second, a performance CDI will gain you a good bit. Add a stage 1 cam, which is a fairly simple swap, and you’ll have a decent bump in performance and speed!

    You mentioned the Rhino clones in one of the video in this series. Could a MSU 700 engine be built the same way?

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 роки тому +1

      I do believe it’s based on the 686 in the rhino’s and share a lot of parts so it should

      @@AppalachianMountainRiders Yes from what I can gather the cylinder is from the 700 (686) but the head is from the 660. Mine will do a little over 50 mph on a flat road. I'd just like a little more umph to get up the hills when we ride in the mountains.

      @@meseawell Those Chinese 700’s are geared taller ( in the transmission) than the Rhino’s are.
      When the Grizzly came out Wiseco made a 686 big bore and I believe you could get it in different compression ratios.
      People did the 686’s on the 660 Rhino’s as well and when Yamaha came out with their 700 it was 686. I think stock for stock the 660 would beat a 700 Rhino in race but I could be wrong.
      Not sure if the China clone 700 could take more power everything on them is built of lesser quality usually.
      The one way bearing for the 660’s will work on the China 700’s but the splines are different than the 660 for the wet clutch. Maybe they have same splines as the 700?
      700 Rhino uses a 6 shoe wet clutch the China 700’s have a 5 shoe clutch.
      Just talked to a guy with a Massimo 700 and he went with a JBS Slug kit for the wet clutch, the slippery washers for the secondary clutch as well as an Orange spring and an oem Yamaha 700 belt. It made quite a difference he said.
      Then you can shim the primary clutch for more low end.
      I bet they’d go good with that taller gearing.
      Knowing China they probably cloned the Mud Buster cam.
      I’ll have to measure it one day and see what the cam specs are.
