    Just honest and bold. I completely support her position. The music industry has taken everything from us. Be yourself and accept your own. I have a company and I look for Black employees first. Their color will get them in the door. Their abilities is what will keep them there. That may be a bit too real for some of you...But frankly I don't care. I'm trying to have what the rest of the world has....Something of our own.

      According to a certain journalist, Donny Hathaway had Phyliss’s same attitude, and my dear father, still to this day, has NEVER believed he jumped out of a window to his death. He still says, “Somebody pushed him.”
      It seems as if all the black artists who insisted on owning their publishing and running their own business ends up dead under peculiar circumstances: Michael, Prince, Sam, Phyliss, etc. Why? 🤷🏽‍♀️

    well spoken. and like most of you said; this is whats lacking from our artists. now, u can pick on Black Artists and managers and CEOs all day but the bottom line is the Green Dollar. u can hire as many minorities as u want to Buuuut, its all about capitol. what can you bring to the table??? when you bring it, can you keep bringing it. some artists and managers are one-sided and thats how most of them fade out just as soon as they come in.

    • @MeimeiLovesmusic
      @MeimeiLovesmusic 4 роки тому

      It’s some people who make the Green the only bottom line ... but it doesn’t have to be. Like she said, she wasn’t in a hurry because she was making a fine enough living singing ... meaning she was not all about Green and actually looked at life holistically, which is the better way. Her thinking allowed her to slow down and care about her how to operate her company the way she wanted which was to hire more blacks. This was her way to give back to her community who put her in the successful entertainment world. Makes absolute sense and the the right thing to do!

      Hint hint, they DIDN'T. Tina Turner moved to Europe and has isolated herself there. Diana Ross while she doesn't have as many staffs as she did in her heydays, her family office is staffed mainly by you guessed it, white people. Beyoncé's staff is mostly white with the exception of her dancers/band and body guard, even her secretary/nanny is white. I say hire on merit, but don't be out here preaching black, black, black, but then turn a blind eye to providing opportunities to black people.

      @@talesbyciel you’re partially wrong and mostly right here. Diana Ross has managed herself since the early 80’s with the exception of a brief period in the 90’s where she was managed by her eldest daughter. Her assistant and secretary both of whom are Black, were employed by her during this time, one of which still works for her.
      She did have a Jewish attorney and publicist around this time. All Black backing singers as well as band members as well.

      Spilled what tea? God y’all are some of the lowest individuals on the totem pole when it comes to intelligence.
      And for the record both women mentioned, had blacks on their staffs at this time. But you’d have to read a book or do some
      research to know it.. and like the man said years ago.. u wanna hide something from a black? PUT IT IN A BOOK

      @@dddddadadad1796 Whats your point? Phyl was right. Let me first explain to you what spilling tea is and then I am going to explain why this is categorized as a tea spill. Spilling tea...is when you give either inside information that the COLLECTIVE DOES NOT HAVE...or you give a VIEWPOINT that the collective might not see clearly or may be out of focus. Phyllis is hitting on SO MANY points...that she shatters the tea glass! 1. She is talking about a system...where the majority of money is made off of AA and yet when it comes to hiring them...the jobs are being directed elsewhere. Now FROM BOOKS and life in general we know this has always happened...but Phyllis is pointing out that it is also being done by AA in the industry! 2. She flat out calls out 2 artists BY NAME. She was not coy or shy. During that time back then...artist did not do that for fear of upsetting the other artist! However, Phyllis is unshakable. Now why is this tea? Because...and I'm sure you know this from the MANY books you've read...Diana Ross...comes from a background...where the staff was all AA! MOTOWN RECORDS! So, if anyone...should understand the importance of hiring the people you make money from (Her own people) it SHOULD BE Diana! The fact that she doesn't...says a lot about her and this is the point Phyllis is making! If you have drive...and passion to be the best...and you are AA...how can you think others in your group...do not possess the same drive and professionalism? And if you feel they do...why haven't you hired them for the managerial positions? In so many words, she is saying that Tina and Diana hold the same stereotypes about their own people...that others do. And though they don't say it with their mouths...they do with their actions. The way she breaks it down, in her calm classy way while looking absolutely stunning...in and of itself is fierce! But she calls them out by name almost as if telling them "to do better". So, um yeah...for her to tell this BACK THEN...SHE SPILLED THE TEA..LIKE I SAID! LOL. Now, you seem to be one of those internet people who searches comments for arguments...so understand that after I have thoroughly broken this down for you and explained "spilling tea" and how it applies here...anything you come with I will no longer be responding to. Because I made it plain. If you still don't get it...go back to the many books in your arsenal and read them a bit SLOWER....the way I just read, you! (Mic drop)🎤🎤🎤🎤
