Just give them housing. What a simple solution. How about they go to shelters or jail. If you GIVE them housing you just make the situation worse. The housing gets destroyed, they still don't get essentials of food, healthcare, etc. It also doesn't address mental illness, drug addition, criminality, sanitation, and a host of other issues associated with homeless people other than the fact that they don't live in homes. The only humane way to deal with "homeless" people is supervised shelters or jail. Interestingly enough, many homeless refuse to go to shelters or even be put into housing because they want live in their own way, but we all end up paying for it.
LA is a semi desert with hot and dry climate and crazy traffic, SF weather is nice but stupidly expensive. I have lived in both and i have since left to east coast and haven't missed anything.
Give them what we give the incarcerated - minimal healthcare, career counseling, 3 basic meals per day (rice beans veggies), and a 7 x 3 ft pod to sleep in. Living areas should be secure and video monitored to minimize cases of abuse. I love my neighbors who use drugs, steal electric, make kids cross a street now, and pay crossing guard, live for free, and so on.. But that's ok, CA's fault. Lol..
Why does everyone feel like it’s a cities responsibility to house the homeless? SF has been housing homeless in hotels during the pandemic and spends over $5,000 a month per person. Cities don’t have unlimited resources. They shouldn’t be doing drugs if they want to turn their life around.

There are many of these former pedestrian tunnels in LA. The city should just take some ground up concrete from building demolitions and fill these tunnels, then seal them off permanently. Then they can deal with the tent cities on every block, one by one. The city cannot possibly offer free housing to each and every one of these homeless individuals. Many couldn't get jobs even if jobs were available. For every one individual that is just "down on their luck" there are countless more with serious substance abuse and mental health issues . I say that from experience. I was once where they are: jobless, broke, and with no one to turn to for help. I still have nightmares about sleepless nights in shelters, or all night movie theaters. It was a quick fall down, and a long slow climb back up...but I did it.
Wrong, dude. Those bums are homeless exactly because of their own choices. They are owed nothing by the city. Other people figure out how to live, survive, even thrive.
For such an important intersection due to the proximity to the school why not have guards at the tunnel(s) so it can be used for what it was designed -- to let pedestrians cross busy, dangerous intersections without endangering themselves and endlessly frustrating the motorists. NO homeless allowed; NO drug dealing allowed. Is that too "Pollyanna-ish?"
Honestly I love how they got creative and put TVs and stuff in their encampments. I just wish the drugs weren’t an issue. I would say tiny houses would be a good solution.
Just send the homeless to join the military have them serve their country if they want a place to sleep and get food not be in our streets enough is enough
It's VERY simple people...Housing is offered to those that want it - with that comes rules, and no drug use. SOME want to remain homeless so they can keep partying without responsibility, accountability, or rules. Fact is, so many hotel rooms and living spaces are available...MANY simply refuse it...Perhaps we utilize a closed military base to "reposition" those that want to party like it's 1999 so we can enjoy our neighborhoods again! Gotta love Cali!
Or can’t afford it but okay. Hotels cost money. And have you ever been in a homeless shelter? You’re better off on the street. True fact is, most people don’t start off as drug addicts when they go homeless. They have other issues. And then when people like you beat them down constantly and make them feel worth less than stray dogs, you don’t care anymore and just want to numb the pain. A lot still don’t go down that path but a lot of the older ones especially with metal issues do.
So it's someone else's fault they are homeless because they don't give them homes! I wish someone gave me a home instead of working and paying for my home for 18 years!
Arrest the homeless. They’d rather be in jail with 3 hot meals and a bed then these encampments. Set up shelters for when they’re released. And a job center next store

Give them what we give the incarcerated - minimal healthcare, career counseling, 3 basic meals per day (rice beans veggies), and a 7 x 3 ft pod to sleep in. Living areas should be secure and video monitored to minimize cases of abuse. Some will leech off this even, but it would be livable yet uncomfortable enough to motivate a fair amount to get it together.

Just give them houses. 👏 you buy them one first.
Why does everyone feel like it’s a cities responsibility to house the homeless? SF has been housing homeless in hotels during the pandemic and spends over $5,000 a month per person. Cities don’t have unlimited resources. They shouldn’t be doing drugs if they want to turn their life around.
Excuse me, why should I have to spend my tax dollars to provide to them for not wanting to improve their own lives.
Do you understand that nobody want to hire them for work??? You're definitely a kid who has no experience in a job sector.

There isn't one single smart person in this entire video.
Ikr, instead these dipshits wanna fill it with concrete or just let the scumbums take it over.
How about enforcing the laws and having law enforcement remove them.
Dang I wish someone gave me a house too. Where do I sign up?

They’ll sell the houses and buy drugs/liquor. This is under the assumption they actually want out of their situation.
They cannot follow the rules of the shelter. Which is no drugs or alcohol
Just send the homeless to join the military have them serve their country if they want a place to sleep and get food not be in our streets enough is enough

So it's the city who is supposed to give free housing to the homeless? Okay got it.
Where do l go to get my free apartment on Park Avenue?
Instead of giving them housing? Can they come live with you? It's not free, bud...
It’s not the cities job to house the homeless. It’s the homeless job to get a job.
