Winter camping in freezing temperatures looks very uncomfortable. Personally I would choose a warmer climate every winter. But you choose your adventures so I can watch and learn. 🙏❤️
We full timed in a ‘17 GD Solitude for 5 years and we over wintered our last two years at Santa Fe Skies. We had to give it up to take care of family with declining health issues. One of our favorite spots but I’m so sad you didn’t mention the walking trail at the park and ALL THE AMAZING METAL ART located thru out the entire park. Any of you that plan to spend time in NM should visit. The sunsets from the ridge are amazing and it’s a family operation with wonderful staff. Can you tell I miss it something fierce?
That is so awesome! We loved seeing the art around our site. We really wanted to walk around the whole park but the weather was not nice when we were there and we worked a lot and spent most of our time with family. Hopefully in the future, if we ever go back it will be when the weather is nicer. We really liked the staff there. They were always friendly and helpful. 😀 Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
You made us cold just watching this video! 😂 But Shion cracked us up calling everything a blizzard! 😂 But was smart to remove the snow from the slides!
As a Canadian we are very familiar with the freezing water lol. Your water container would have been totally ok if you just set them in the shower till they thawed, then you could use it. If your hands were hurting while warming up is not unusual. This is why frost bite so painful. Be safe out there!
@@BrokenDreamsRebornyeah, no need to fuss with them as it increases the chance of the container being damaged. How do I, a Canadian, know this? Ahem experience 😂.
Two years ago we wintered in Missouri. For the last two years, we’ve been in Nova Scotia, Canada. We’ve got a plywood skirt covered with a vinyl skirt (the wind blows the vinyl skirts right off). We go through 100 lbs of propane a week to keep warm. So yeah, -25C isn’t all that unusual for us.
Oh wow! That is a lot of propane! We kept having to get our 30 pound propane tank refilled about every 2 to 3 days! Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
"And that's how you drain a dump station" LOL! 🤣 Oh. no. about the water jugs. Living in Michigan our whole life, we are done with snow. Enjoyed your joy and enthusiasm though! :) - MIchelle
Wow we did not know you ended up with such a storm. We loved the look on Shion's face as she enjoyed the snow. PS we were laughing out loud at the end..... That was some funny stuff... 8)
This was awesome! Great tips on the slide prep - need to think about that a few days ahead. Tough rv'ing in those conditions for sure. Thanks this was an enjoyable video and great information too!
Thank y'all so much and thanks for watching too! We really enjoyed getting to talk with y'all the other night at the campfire! Keep in touch! ~ Shion and Matthew
We have same model and year rig. I discovered that the furnace was leaking all around the furnace tin box and the duct pipe connections were really leaking. Be sure to use the metal tape that is rated to higher temperatures than regular duct tape. My furnace now blows dust bunnies across the room!
Looked like fun!! Go easy when stepping on those slide-out roofs, they do not have anywhere near the weight capacity that the main roof has. In fact, I saw your kitchen slide go down when you stepped on it. Good job getting that snow off the slide-outs!!
We had a lot of fun in Santa Fe. We double checked with Grand Design when we were given a factory tour of our unit and we asked if it was safe to stand on the slides and they said we could for our model. Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
Yep, had to drain the swamp also. Guess it's part of the journey. Yeah, Delaware doesn't give you bags either. Don't even give you the option to buy. Snow is pretty. We just had a nice 6 incher here in central PA.
We keep hearing how certain areas have no bags, so we bought some from Dollar Tree just in case we ever needed them and we needed them sooner than we thought we were going to need them, LOL 😂 We think the snow is pretty too! Thanks for watching and stay warm! ~ Shion and Matthew
Loved the video but...if you ask Todd from the National RV Training Academy, if you are having to sweep snow off your rv you are doing it WRONG! Your rv has wheels for a reason! Head south young man. Take care.
I don’t miss the snow! Been there done that, over and over. Michigan, Ohio, Colorado, Kansas, Wyoming, Missouri and all the roads traveled. Put the water jugs in the shower to let it thaw. 😂 snow hurts for sure! I like seeing it when it is white, but in most areas it looks dirty/muddy after a day or two. Loved the dentist appliance! 😂
We know y'all don't miss the snow, LOL 😂 Shion really likes seeing it since she never saw it growing up! Thanks for the tip about the water jugs too! That game is so much fun! We laughed and laughed! 😂 Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
your blue water containers that froze solid, here something for you you i bought insulated bags for my blue containers and placed 2 hand warmers in the bag to keep from freezing up the water, , sound funny right but it works the hand or legs warmers are warm for 8 hrs, i even saw a guy at a campground in rapid city, sd,that made from #30 insulation for the house , wrapped the containers up and always warm, to me warm water is better then frozen? p.s. on my slides i have a roll up awning over each slice to keep the snow off the slide on the awnng i coated the awning with RAIN X made for the snow, when the snow falls the snow slide off no problem.
Thanks for sharing all those tips with us! That is cool about the RAIN X making the snow slide off. We love using RAIN X on our windshield! Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
Yep always use gloves !🤪🤪 wow all that snow that was awesome ! Stay warm and be safe out there ! Would love to see y’all camping one day but we don’t go as far as y’all do !😬😊

Snow! You’re RVing wrong 😂😂 we have to head back to Colorado in March and really praying we don’t hit snow, that being said March can be the snowiest month there 😂😂 safe travels!
Hopefully one day they will change the rules because we would love to film at the National Parks. A snowball fight would have been fun! Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
Oh wow! That does sound unusual for Canada, especially when places in the US were getting snow back in December. Thanks for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew
@@BrokenDreamsRebornour snow came in November/December. We had a really cold patch in November but the it warmed up & then pretty much the 2nd & 3rd week was -30C brrrrr! We received some more snow in January but not the usual amount, even in the rural areas. I’m in southern Alberta.
I definitely miss the snow! We moved from Colorado to Texas almost 3 yrs ago. It still gets cold in Texas but miss those Colorado winters. Too bad you can’t design a slant cover for those slides. Are you guys worried about the frame situation going on at Grand Design? Y’all have fun! Stay safe, Stay warm!
My husband always wears gloves! It's a dirty job.. 😆 I always love looking at the snow from the inside, it is very beautiful! ... , but don't like to be in it a whole lot. Of course we have 2 GSD and they love the snow.. so I am in it anyway..lol.. ps.. love the ending y'all! too funny 🤣🤣
We really enjoyed looking at the snow and Shion especially liked going out and seeing it too even if her hands nearly froze off, LOL 😂 That game is so much fun! We laughed and laughed! 😂 Thanks so much for watching! ~ Shion and Matthew

I’m sorry but I laughed out loud when you called that a blizzard. That is a gentle snowfall, not even a storm.

I always thought a blizzard was when you couldn't see 10' in front of you. I think the weather man was embellishing a bit. 😉

A heated hose is worth it. My hose does great at 5 below with no issues.

💯feel your aggravation about not being able to film in the parks!! Would have loved to see you two in a snowball fight. Thanks for sharing.

The fee for a filming license for a group of 1 to 2 is $0.00.
We actually had a green Christmas in our part of Ontario, Canada which is very unusual. We just started getting snow mid to the end of January. 💛
