- Опубліковано 2 лют 2022
- On this episode of “Sports Dissected,” we go inside the kitchen at LSU to learn how executive chef Michael Johnson - and his team - feed an ENTIRE athletic program three times a day, seven days a week. In addition to chef Johnson showing us how to make a few of his favorite dishes, he also shares some food tips that will help young athletes prepare for not only the next level but life in general. This might be our tastiest episode to date! Watch with caution because you’ll never see it that same.

Just wanted to say this was the first video that I watched on your channel and it was excellent. Thanks for the quality and informative content. Liked and Subscribed and clicked the bell. Geaux Tigers!
Man this has to be one of the best videos you guys have. With the Chefs personal story, this video just hits you and makes you take a step back. I hope him and his family are together and doing well.
Appreciate your words and support. I’m so grateful to be here in Baton Rouge living only a couple miles from my children sharing their lives again. Truly blessed.
Great energy man, appreciate it the positivity
The personal story gave me chills. Such a great reminder that it’s impossible to outrun a good reputation.
@@michaeljohnson-dx6nw Major kudos for working hard and getting back here by your family. Awesome story!!

This Chefs story is AMAZING!!
His story made my day!
I’ve got a chub!
I'd say a bit depressing too, his wife divorced him because he was grinding providing for his family smh
@@doom-driveneap4569 Yeah she married a chef and gave him shit for you know... being a chef doing chef shit. Its not a 9-5 honey..Guy is a BEAST!
He almost cried..
Goes to show what kind of sacrifices not just the players but the people “behind the scenes” make! Great content! 👌
Lol,I think I missed something sacrifice's they make, can you imagine what their paid.he's an executive chef at LSU
Dude puts food out... In his mask... 🤣🙄✌️
yeah, except these dudes make a shit ton of money, while the athletes upon which the entire business is built, get jack shit.
@@IImVoltagee Ummm, they get a free college education without student loans, free books, free tutors, free room and board in the nicest facilities on campus, they get to eat all of that food that you just saw for free, the rest of the student body doesnt get to eat like that. They get to train in world class training facilities with individually dedicated personal trainers, free dietitians, free medical care, everything that they need to prepare to be a professional athlete in their chosen sports AND a degree all furnished by LSU, so don't tell me they don't get jack, that is a bunch of bullshit.
@@rachet0708 Let’s not forget that they get an entire wardrobe of clothing, given better opportunities to create phenomenal connections, test banks that have answers to exams and assignments on them. You could keep going. They are given everything they can legally have. People still complaining on how they’re not paid.
Loved this episode and the chef's story! Hope to see more of these!
🧡
This hit home for me. I’m a Dad. I would do anything for my kids. He gave up the NFL to be by his kids. Real Father’s will always be blessed. Just a testament to hard work and a great heart.
I think that your kids are way more important than the NFL...duh.
LSU is every bit as “big time” an an NFL job. He is allowed to create in an environment that is less restrictive in labor, food quality, profitability, and resource management. Dream job for a chef. Has more free time also.
Love Chef Johnson's backstory. He didn't have to tell us all of that info. Very touching and Much Respect to Him.
What an inspirational story, we were fortunate to have him with the Mariners then the Seahawks. Looks like he found the perfect fit at LSU!
It’s crazy how even chefs gets traded
@@jayghee9396 😂😂 that’s what happens when you don’t show up to all the meetings and practices
Chef Mike was one of my teachers at LCI! Great guy and so happy to his success!
The Chef story was pretty emotional for me. I really got happy and the end was when he got to tell his kids on Valentine's Day. He seems like a great person to work for.
This is one of the best videos I have seen on this channel. Thank you for this video. For myself, I would like to do what Mike Johnson is doing and become an executive chef. Through hard work, knowing your craft, and making great connections, he was granted this job. What a great story.
Such a great story, it’s amazing how things work out for some people.
Please do MORE of these - I love looking at how athlete's fuel themselves before game time!
This is probably one of your best videos to this date. What a story and you could feel the emotions from Chef Johnson. Thank you for telling the stories from the staff and more relatable ones. Not everybody can make it into the league, but you can do as Chef Johnson and work hard, network and then eventually with a little bit of luck land a top tier job.
Such a great story about the Chef's journey. Such a blessing.
Love Lsu for their community. I'm a ducks fan but wow seeing cultures like these that really feel like a family is truly amazing. mad respect to chef Johnson!
Wow as a new father, the chef's story about Valentine's day got me in my feelings! I'm glad he found the perfect spot for both his career and his family
This chefs story is inspirational
GREAT STORY!!!! Mike is the type of person we all can root for!! This channel is outstanding.
A team really is so much more than just the players and coaches. There are sooo many people who work so hard and sacrifice so much for the success of the team. We ought to give these behind the scenes contributors more credit!
Oh man please post more this kind of films. Nutrition and college sports, awesome. Can't wait
Would love to see more of this type of video. I always find it fascinating to see what it takes to feed elite sports teams!
It takes quite a bit of food for a growing man that's also an athlete
Love this series, guys need more of these!
Shout out to highlighting the story of the chef to show the progression, work ethic and meaning of what life is all about
Love to see you at LSU! Hope you’re able to also do a tour of the facility.
That chef’s story is just perseverance. Keep putting in that work and whatever forces out there will give you an opening and you take it.
WOW!! Did not expect this amazing chef to take over this episode and impact it in such a positive way.
Loved this video, so much hard work goes behind the scenes of the teams 🙌
Awesome video guys. Love seeing and learning the behind the scenes of stuff like this. Also, way to get that Chef’s story in there, which was super authentic and inspiring.
Great story by chef! Really the definition of trusting the process. If you do what you love, happiness is going to find you.
I follow his path for me blindly. Though I’ve strayed at times finding my way back to Baton Rouge was testament to patience and faith.
I really enjoyed watching this wasn't a fly by episode. Personal and family like. Keep up the great work guys the whole staff. Chef look how god works, blessings to you and your family.
The chef's life story makes this video special. There are probably other LSU sports support staff that have very interesting and poignant stories as well. Great video!!!
This is actually one of the best episodes so far

Outstanding Chef happy to have you.

I agree that this was a great video. Also loved the chef's story. Hard work and initiative paid off in the end.
Nice to see someone with so much passion and wanting things to be great for all these athletes. Dudes work ethic is something the new generation should look at. Almost to much. You don't wanna lose relationships because of work. But this guy is a amazing person.
Well done and I'm happy for Michael and I hope that things are better for him and his family! This is an AWESOME channel and people NEED to sub to it! Can't wait to see the one you have done for Purdue!
This video is a great reminder to not grind too hard or else other important parts of your life can fall apart
I enjoyed this video. Thanks for providing an informative and heartfelt story. Keep up the good work.
What a wonderful video!!! So happy for him. Great football team, great, fans, and even better food. #225 #geauxtigers and I know we will all be rooting for our nflsu boys this weekend. Especially Joe!!
What a great story and great vid!!!!!! Thanks for the look in!!
As an organic restaurant owner in Hawaii, I commend the Chef for healthy, flavorful assortment.....and low sugar is spoon important. Our restaurant uses organic maple syrup, and local honey as substitute . Great video too!
Glad y’all interviewed the chef and he went deep into how he got there. it as more of a wholesome humanly quality to it not just a video of the Reps of a stadium. Also talking about how many millions this and that was and a brief story about what the sock guy does to color coordinate different pairs for games
So glad everything worked out for this man!! 🙏
Wow this was so cool. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge. I moved about 4 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't miss home. This was an awesome segment, the Exec. Chef was really cool. Thank you guys for covering one of the greatest schools in the state!

As a proud Louisiana native I have to agree about our hospitality it's one of the best in the south, our state is a beautiful place to live and there's so much to do and the culture of LSU is one of the best and as we Cajuns like to say : laissez le bon temps rouler
