I have plowed for 46 years and never got sick of it, I only got sick of the idiots that are in too much of a hurry and always have to pass you or cut you off.
Awesome video guys thanks i am a 18 year county plow driver in Minnesota i think this was one of the more educational videos i have watched thanks again guys and have a safe season.
My hat off to the Alaska DOT for this video. IT is one of the very best I have ever seen among the 25 states where I have personally taught TP operators. I recognized many of the drivers who provided real life testimonies in the Fairbanks area. From... The inventor of the TowPLow.... Bob
I've been a Snowfighter in Utah for 14 years and am now Managing Operations in Oregon. I've seen a lot of training videos and overly expensive simulators, and this is by far the most comprehensive training video I've watched so far. Thanks to the Snowfighters of Alaska and ADOT for this invaluable resource. I've suggested this to all my PW contacts in other states. I hope APWA picks up and utilizes this resource and your level of quality.
The Vintage Faith, I watch ADOT/PF, and also Iowa DOT. They have 15 video training modules. I work for WSDOT on I-90 Snoqualmie Pass. Nice to meet another Snowfighter! Check out JimHowDigsDirt on UA-cam, too. He plows for the Province of Nova Scotia. He has lots of great on-board plowing videos.
The Vintage Faith this kind of work I have wanted to do my whole life but being that I don't live in a city "Vegas" anytime I try to get a job in a different state/city I have never gotten a email or call it sucks
Isn't it Illegal to pass on the right? If a driver crunches a wing blade in the attempt it is on him, yes you equipment might be down but a couple of "Tough luck lawbreaker, pay for our plow!" situations will go a long way to discouraging that bad behavior......
watchthe1369 , the laws vary from state to state. Some states have no laws regarding passing a working plow, others say you can't pass a plow at all. In my state alone, we have 6 to 8 accidents involving snowplows clearing snow, and cars striking the wing blade on the right. There is a UA-cam video of a semi truck that collides with a plow's wing, and it causes the $240,000 plow truck to lose control and roll down an embankment. Search for UDOT plow accident Spanish Fork. My state uses it in safety training.

Great video.
Sadly most drivers won't see it. And many time don't understand how difficult it is to keep them safe.
Great job. Alaska.
They're Called motorists And They Don't Understand. Peace Out Brothers
I live in FLORIDA, yet UA-cam suggested this...and yes I watched it.

Great video , but way too much "ya gotta think about" !! 🤔
Unnecessary music and the film is shot in shadow, not enough light, too much shadow.
STOP MOVING YOUR HANDS! CUT THEM OFF! DO SOMETHING!
