Love that you highlighted the individual roles of the team that crafted MotD. It’s easy to just give Blundell the credit, but Mob is GOAT status from the passion poured in to the map by the entire team.
I hate to be the one saying this but the skulls are for the free blundergat. To get the redeemer you need to get a certain amount of kills on the bridge then tossed in the lava by the cell block dog. Next step is picking it up in afterlife. Yo quickly summarize. Loved the video as always and keep up the great work ❤
DOPEY!!! Yes, I had that revelation while recording the gameplay, but what’s done is done. Glad you’re back, thanks for all the support as always brother ❤️
Actually you need to get around 15 kills with the redeemer on the island. You know it is done when you hear the sound of you were going into the afterlife mode. Then you survive a full round after round 10 with only the redeemer, Melee, and grenades on the bridge for a full round until you hear another afterlife sound. Go back to the island and throw the redeemer in the lava next to the spawn dog. Go into after life the next round to pick up the retriever back where you originally picked it up
Got recommended this video cause I watch a lot of Rushin. Really well made video and I look forward to your future videos! Keep it up man, especially interested with these in-depth map coverages.
Also here from tik tok and glad I did because this is a really great video essay. Music was a little loud sometimes and I think you can include more personal moments to help break up the amount of info you’re sharing, but still an awesome essay that I’ll be rewatching
when i was watching i was thinking. HOW i don’t know this zombie youtuber. then i checked your views and i said WHAT. your on the right way, just don’t fall off and keep your head up, should be more popular!
I absolutely agree. I don’t even need a huge, extravagant, expensive-to-make map like MOTD. Just a good, well-made, *ORIGINAL* map the size of Der Riese will do. But we haven’t even gotten that in years! Here’s to CoD 2024 I guess 🤞
I don't understand the hate for Die Rise. I really liked the map (not my favorite tho) and I think it was a bold attempt at changing the usual formula for zombies. Yes, it has its flaws but I think it was fun playing something different
Die Rise can seem fun the first time you play it or even the second time you play it. Around the third playthrough you begin to realize that not having PhD is a huge problem, and the getting back up the towers is so brutal due to the awful elevator system. And Who’s Who is a joke of a perk. So one you’ve played Die Rise a hundred or so times, you just begin to loathe the map entirely.
@@Det_SomersetIt's somehow funny because it's the flaws that make this map funny to me. I don't think I ever played it without knowing full well I could get flung off into my death by my own trap. And who is who was also kinda funny because it was comical just how effed you were when you died. I think they took a risk on this one and they failed. Maybe they learned something valuable from it. I appreciate it for that and think it's fine for the experiment it was. I don't get why you would expect more. It may just be tha map you should play less than a hundred times for your own sanity's worth.
I wish more people mentioned the depth of the characters themselves. Mob has super deep characters, through their downed dialogue, the mobsters actually talk about their past and regrets. Sal with his ruthlessness and impulse of gging a young prostitute because his empire was falling. And his bribes that eventually meant nothing no matter how hard he tried covering up his and the families crimes. Blood of the dead adding on his problem of living a cycle of purgatory even in life. Sinning, regretting, and praying. Again and again and in death is no different with another endless cycle. Finn, with his love hate relationship with his wife, how she was perfection to him but he plans to end her when he gets out. Billy to me being the most tragic, talking about being an innocent kid growing up in a broken home. Witnessing his beloved mother being abused by his father and feeling like he had to end her life to make her stop suffering the abuse, and everyone but the voice he needed to hear the most being his father, telling him he was brave for carrying on without his mother despite no one knowing Billy killed her. And because of his trauma and the forever haunting loss/murder of his mother, he puts his pain onto others by ending them and constantly shows loyalty and care towards Sal, desiring fatherly love from him. (Too bad Sal leaves him for dead in the into rip) Weasel, talking about how no one regards his existence or cares if he dies. He’s only highlighted by his skills of a schemer but even then gets forgotten about again. He often has to exaggerate his capabilities to sound interesting but asks himself how many times will he do this before the crew find out and feel betrayed, ending him. Predicting his own death. The crew are deep and the nuances you have to piece together much like how you have to in other psychological horror games like Silent Hill, Dead Space, and Outlast 2, shows how much more great and deep Mob really is. It’s so unique.
Wow. I actually didn’t know some of the things you mentioned here. All the characters and their depth could be its own video. Jason Blundell is so good at revealing character depth through dialog and the interactions between characters
@@Det_Somerset So well done that even getting downed, a ordinary zombies mechanic is emotional. This is whenever they feel like they are at their weakest and they confess how they feel and reflect as they bleed out, regretting and thinking back, knowing they can’t fix, do, or correct anything. And if I remember correctly these are the only characters that actually have dialogue whenever they get downed every other character never did before or after. Blood had Easter egg cyphers that blackops amazing covered that shows more of their backstory. Shows Billy has ASPD and being the early 20th century, no one cared for it, not his family maybe his mom but yknow.. not authority either, The judge made him psychologically fit to stand trial and the people who are reviewing his psyche weren’t trying to treat him rather just get results from a society deemed monster like him. He turned to the Deluca crime family And it’s sad because the only remaining happiness in his life came from bad influences and Sal although loving him like a son, instead of treating him or caring about his ASPD, really just uses him as a monster to kill. Like Seth did to Richie in Dusk Til Dawn. The beauty of it is Billy dosen’t outright say he killed his mom though, it’s moreso hinted, but you have to piece all of the stuff together that the characters say. You have to observe the trailers of Mob, the dialogues in game, and the cypher Easter eggs from Blood to get the full story and piece it together yourself for all the mobsters and that’s what’s fun about it. Also, I want to add that the sole reason I think why they added Chazz and Joey it’s because they both played mafia members just like the other two did. Chazz as Sonny in A Bronx Tale, and Joey as Ralph in The Sopranos. Jason knew this and understood how great they were as the mafia characters in those respective roles and casted them just like how the call of the dead crew were casted because they were people who played in horror films. Smart move indeed. Lastly I do believe it’s very inspired by silent hill because there are a lot of parallels to draw between the characters and the aspect within the map.
I also want to add that they did sort of retcon Billy‘s mother’s murder in Blood, but luckily it’s just written down what happened so I like to think that maybe he just covered it up because as I told you he is haunted by the murder of his mother and maybe he doesn’t want to remember the truth. And he talks about the murder of his mother in black ops two so I think it’s more believable to believe what he says rather than what he writes.
I know a lot of people consider BO2 zombies the best in the franchise. For the people that do consider that statement true for themselves, what is it about BO2 that stands out above the rest for you?
Black ops 2 was my first zombies experience and it was the hardest. With black ops 3, 4, and CW, the pendulum swung the other way and is now stuck the other way. The most difficult thing about CW zombies is lag from non-client hosting and shitty teammates
😂😂 You’re absolutely right. BO3 seemed to have been the perfect balance between easy enough and hard enough. I don’t know if we’ll ever see days similar to those again
18:45 False. The skulls are for a free Blundergat in the Warden's Office. Upgrading the Hell's Retriever requires getting 30 kills on the Golden Gate and then tossing it in the cellblock pit, and grabbing the upgrade through Afterlife in the next round

I think the majority of hate for maps like tranzit and die rise came from the fact that they were hard which made people not enjoy exploring the maps and getting the most out of the maps because they kept dying

And Origins might even be the most challenging map ever made. Yet all three maps are some of the best maps ever made.
