Angel Carter Conrad reveals new posthumous music from Aaron Carter

- First on "CBS Mornings," we're getting a first listen to a never-before-heard song from Aaron Carter. Carter died in 2022 after struggling with addiction and mental health issues. Now, his team and his sister, Angel Carter Conrad, are releasing his previously unheard music. "The Recovery Album" comes out May 24. Part of the proceeds will go to the nonprofit "The Kids Mental Health Foundation," formerly known as "On Our Sleeves."

My heart goes out to the Carter family. I can relate to their struggle. I pray for healing and God’s peace that surpasses all understanding.

Crazy going back watching house of Carter’s to see all siblings together.
I am the youngest of 5 also.
I was born much later than my 4 older siblings.
School holidays (our schools have quarterly breaks) were very lonely. Mom and Dad worked and I stayed hom with the housekeeper.
Because they lost a child before I was born, I think they could not handle losing another child. The result of that, was keeping me sheltered. 1 friend over for one day the whole +/- 3weeks we were out of school. Maybe I could go over to their house too.... maybe.
I rode my bike up and down the street, but alone, its no fun.
The loneliness, we know now, was the cause of the depression.
My parents thought they were keeping me safe, when in fact, the were causing mental problems to develope.
I loved my life with my parents, school holidays were horrible.
I think I was the only kid excited for school to start.

I'm a recovery addict of 7 years . I went down a bad dark path. I had to hit rock-bottom in order to come back up. addiction is no joke. I don't think people realize how serious it is until you have been their. my heart breaks for the Carter family and I always wished Aaron would get help. it is so sad to see someone like Aron who was a father and so talented in music to sink down a dark path and loose his life. Angel is so sweet to tell her story and support the family. she went through a lot along with rest of the family. anyone struggling with addiction please get help before to late. remember you matter and you have people that love you.
Mental health is very important, no matter how rich or poor you are. Money doesn't heal anything
This makes my heart so happy for the carter family and their kids. I hope all the work Angle and Nick are doing will help them contuine to heal and break the generational trama.
What about Nick and his sexual assault lawsuits? Why not let the proceeds go to his victims ‼️

I really wonder what Aaron would think of this. And if these would be the songs that he would have released. His sister Angel here wouldn’t speak to him while he was alive. He often spoke about how much he was hurt by Angel and Nick on his instagram and UA-cam lives. It seemed to negatively affect his mental health to know they didn’t want a relationship with him and went as far as putting restraining orders on him. He was very talented and entertaining. He had a beautiful son with his Fiance Melanie and I’m not sure if his family has met him yet. It’s never discussed, but I hope this music brings them comfort as well. His fans are loyal and Aaron was a very special guy. He was always candid with his fans and they became his family and gave him the compassion he needed. Out of his real family, he only had a relationship with his mother. Angel continues to say he died from addiction, but even his mother openly questioned how he died and if he was killed.
Aaron threatened his siblings, that is why they got restraining orders. Angel talked to him two days before he died and he refused to get help.
You aren't a family member of an addict. So keep your weird words to urself... ok. It is NOT an easy linear road...
Say a prayer for the surviving siblings.

Yea he wasn’t this innocent victim! Sometime u need to distance yourself from toxic family members.. he threatened Nick and his family .. I heard same with angels family .. openly bashed everyone of his siblings.. even Leslie years after her death. Calling both her and Nick rapist .. years and years of trashing them . And yet ppl wonder why Nick and angel distanced themselves. We don’t know what was said behind closed doors. And another thing .. don’t get me started on the mom! The most evil toxic “ mom” I’ve ever seen. She too openly trashed her own children. Even referring to Nick as a rapist .. what mother would do that to her own kids ?! She’s beyond evil

Angel I admire you so much for doing this. I have followed along on Aaron and your families journey for a very long time since I was 7. You and Aaron have always been about 5 years older than me.
I kept praying and had so much hope in Aaron to turn it around. I saw him preform back in September 2019 at the Washington State Fair and I could tell he was struggling mentally and I sang along with him during a lot of his songs. He literally shared the microphone with me I could feel that underneath all the mental health struggles that man so full of love still existed. But within that year I to started to just pray he would get to the other side as well.
Every time I hear Recovery I just start bawling! ❤️😭❤️😭❤️ when that song os released I will still listen to it over and over again to remember how important mental health is and to remember Aaron as he truly was.

The children of the world need more attention and mental care, this is the most important thing for them to build and become mentally healthy adults. Thank you Angel for this you do, Aaron must be so proud of you he looks down on you all from heaven 🙏❤️ we miss him so much ❤️🦋

Aaron Carter song recovery makes me think of my brother Patrick because he also suffered with addiction problems starting in 2004 and went on until August 2nd 2020 when he had a heart attack and his sleep from a alcohol overdose but he also suffered with drug addiction as well even though they didn't find drugs in the system after he passed away I know you suffered with drug addiction😢💔

@@blessinggoodthings3124 I have been working on Aaron's case for 18 months and have been documenting the death of Aaron Carter. He never drowned in the tub he actually died on the floor. I am in the process of writing his second documentary on his death. Aaron died on the floor after he was injected three times with drugs. The person who confessed to killing Aaron Carter is incarcerated in LASD I have an entire playlist on my channel about it.
