I quite buying the newspaper. I dont like to spend my money on legit coupons and then not be able to use them. It is so frustrating.
My local Walmart has been refusing to take coupons for years. 🤷🏻♀️
I used a peelie the other day at my Neighborhood Market Walmart and it wouldn't go through at self checkout, but the cashier took me to a regular register and it worked fine. So, I will not do self checkout any longer with paper coupons.
I remember when some UA-camrs used to make videos of how to do coupon fraud on items that were not indicated for the coupon, and they used to do transactions of over $100. This is the reason why it has come to this
A Dollar General youtuber showed that every week. She would use high value coupons for $ 1 items.I had to unsubscribe because it frustrted me seeing the fraud she was doing every week. And she took her young granddaughter shopping with her.
I quit using paper coupons at Wal-Mart years ago. The cashiers at my store were either ignorant about coupons or they just didn't want to be bothered. I'm not sure which.
I haven't experienced this exactly. I did have a glitch a while back with using multiple coupons for "Color grabbers". The coupons are printed inside the packaging. I pulled up several from my stockpile to combine them with an Ibotta rebate. Because I am used to this process, i scanned them all at the end, but they wouldn't attach. The system didn't catch that the item was early in the scanning. I ended up having a very uncooperative cashier who didn't understand. They finally voided those items from the transaction and i took it to guest services who was able to scan both the coupons and items to make everything work. But i noticed that she rang each item then the coupon repeat. So I now pair them this way at the register to make sure it works.
This video made realize that it has been months since i tried to use a coupon at walmart.😊
Walmart used to be my go to place to use paper coupons; I don't waste my ink on printable coupons anymore either
I just like the digital better too because of exactly what you said.
They wont push printed coupons but they still are the newspaper ones.
Happened to me yesterday with the $3 Covergirl coupon. The lady was super nice and just went to enter it and she got a message saying she could only give me $2.78 value for the coupon. My product was on clearance for $4
They also will not take coupons over $5. Like in the newspaper they have those $10 off allergy med coupons, which I use the product, and they refuse to take them. The register rejects them everytime.
I still use printable coupons, so far none have beep at Walmart. They do beep at CVS, which is weird because before I did not had an issue now I do, with Garnier, Loreal, or Vitamin printable coupons. I don’t make cashiers manually enter, if it beeps I just don’t buy it, or I switch or try all the items of that name brand until it takes it at CVS. Sometimes, literally only one item triggers the coupon, is fun trying to figure that out, i suggest go early morning to avoid long lines at CvS or prior to closing.
Yes, it is very frustrating. My store will not override any coupons no matter what.
I've had lunch not using self checkout with coupons. A cashier has different options at their register and I've been lucky enough to not have kick back at a register with a designated cashier.
I never even bother using printable coupons but there was one store that wouldn't take a BOGO coupon I think because the cashier didn't know how to enter it,. I went to another store and I didn't have a problem using it.
My Walmart has been doing that over a year if it beeps they want take it. I just don't use paper coupons at Walmart anymore. Have a blessed day.
The minute maid aguas hang tags never scan. I think if it's on a product that rep needs to take it to the front office to be registered.
In my experience, any coupon that will not go through at self-checkout has always gone through with a cashier. (even the $4 CeraVe printable). Maybe they don't bother placing the "master file" in the self-checkout machines to avoid some of the fine print such as the "one per household per day" or to prevent people from doing multiple transaction with the same coupon that has a limit of two.
I had a situation at Walmart in April where I purchased Back To Roots tomato products with $1 Peelie Q on each item. Of course, these peelies didn't scan at the register and the person manning the self-checkouts wouldn't accept them, saying she wasn't capable of overriding the machine. So I contacted Walmart Corporate, got 2 emails from them and then a call from the particular stores management and was told to come bring them back and get my $$$$. I also brought the items with me, along with the receipt and Peelies, because if CS wouldn't honor what I was told by Corporate(I had the emails pulled up on my phone)I was prepared to return those items.
I have had coupons that were mailed to me from the manufacturer not work. I took them to a different store & they worked fine.
I rarely use coupons at Walmart, but I have been using the BOGO stur coupons that are on a pad by the product. They won’t scan. So far the cashier has overrode the coupon and accepted it.
Oh I would have been hot over them not taking hanging tag or peely coupons on products in their own store.
Happened to me last year. $0.75 coupon on the yogurt. Had to wait maybe 15 minutes for the right person to help me at self checkout and he said there’s nothing he can do. I was so upset but finally let it go because 0.75 isn’t worth the stress
I just do not use paper coupons to Big hassle 😊Bless you Nick 😊
Happened to me with a coupon on the product in the store it’s infuriating for sure
I had a coupon for a free product and cashier wouldn't take it.
Yes, that happened to me too. My coupons were not in the master file, so they said there was nothing they can do. Very frustrated, I walked out, without buying anything.
Yes, I had this happen with a Dreft scent booster beads coupon that was attached to the item I bought. Target wouldn't take it but Walmart did.
Personally i’ve only had problems with Coupons at self check out. I have never had a problem with a coupon not being accepted when I went through the regular checkout line.
Honestly can’t blame the business! 😢 but how sad for us that do it honest’
My walmart don't except them at all
A couple of years ago my target stopped taking paper coupons. It starting with no secret bogo coupons on gift card offers. The peely and hang tags do not work. Tried to buy davids bread with the peely?? Customer Service desk took off for me but cashier said you can use it somewhere else...This is what happens when PEOPLE RUIN it for EVERYONE ELSE. Best luck everyone❤
My target dosent take paper coupons. I rarely shop there
Having issues at my CVS store as well with manufacturer coupons out of the paper. Stating if they don't scan the can't take them even though I had the same item on coupon.
My Walmart will still take them. So far I've not had any issue getting mine hand keyed if they don't scan. They have to call up a manager, a CSM can't do it. The covergirl printables were not scanning last week and she hand keyed it, but instead of $3 she said she corks only do $2.78. Where that amount came from I got no clue but she did hand key it for me. The stur coupons weren't scanning awhile back either but again she hand keyed it for me. The free crunchmaster could had trouble with those and again they put it in. It does make me not want to use them if I know they have to come key it, so unless it's an awesome deal I just don't bother but so far still good at my store. I'm sure some stores that have had more issues with coupon fraud might be less likely to do it. I used to work in the cash office for over 10 years and idk how they do them now but back then the coupons went once a month to a clearing house and then they sent a check from there. Unless it was a fake coupon they always got full credit regardless of what it was used on because the system didn't know if you bought what it was for or anything else. We put in a bag once a month and mailed them off. I'm sure they have updated their systems now though that was over 17 years ago
My store actually took my last paper coupons. It was Dove hand soap and the coupon was BOGO. I made sure I went to a register with a cashier.
Thank you for sharing
Yes I had this happen at one Walmart but not the one closest to me. I had 4 dollars off tidy cat litter which was on the box I peeled it off in front of them they said it's not for that litter so I didn't argue it but the manager said we don't accept coupons but closest Walmart to me scanned my coupon and took it weird.
I stopped using most paper coupons just because our papers werent carrying them but i had started a few years ago to stip using them at Walmart anyemway
My store manager said he is allowed to override a coupon that is not in their system, up to a max value of $2.78. That’s better than none at all, but YMMV. It’s frustrating, though, because I have several high-value coupons for free items that I got from contacting manufacturers. Many of these items are only carried at Walmart, but I’m not able to use the coupons there.
I pay for my coupons from a service. Walmart and target and kroger can all be difficult when it comes to couponing. It depends alot on the person who helps you.
This had been this way at my local stores for a while, priobably a year. I hate it. I feel bad for the lay person just trying to buy staples.
If coupon doesn’t scan Walmart won’t accept them. Walmart won’t get reimbursed for coupons not scanning.
WOW couponing is STILL changing
I stopped using paper coupons….Paper is to expensive and printing is a hassle
Oh noooo😱😱😱😱
What Walmarts do you shop? I know it says Ohio Valley. But is it St Clairsville OH, Tridelphia, WV. Just wondering.
I find the small value coupons they are more apt to accept. The higher value ones they scrutinize more. Makes it really difficult in this economy.
They don’t really take coupons at the Walmart I go to
This may have nothing to do with couponing, but I had to pay for a food item that was EBT qualify. I think Walmart system is screwed up. I shouldnt have to pay for a food item with EBT. Un fair😊❤
This happened at my walmart in Cambridge. There was hangtags on the product she pulled them off and went to scan and they wouldn't work.
Also had it happen with the covergirl face. It was $4 on Clarence had the $3 coupon and they said they won't take them anymore if they don't scan but the covergirl eye had no problems, it didn't make since. She even went to someone higher up in the store they checked it said it was right thing it should work but can't take it if I don't scan. It was a mess.
I go through the same thing with coupons @ Walmart I end up going to Customer Service & coupons scan fine. Alot times it's @ Self Checkout the coupons won't scan
