I have used crates to block the main entrance and left stairs then teleported Alexander and after worm came just left the battle. He did 80% of the rest. Nice game. Make me think outside the box.
Tip for anyone still stuck: before you send the seekers away on the ship, teleport alexander from where he is, to the stairs next to where the shriekers were. You’ll get help from Gareth and all the other seekers which will make this fight SO MUCH easier. Side Note: Yes, most of the weaker seekers will die in this fight if you do this, but they’ll die anyway when Dallis invades the Lady Vengeance later. But here, they’ll be able to help you in the fight so you might as well do this trick, unless you want the extra challenge.

This isn't the easiest way. You even need to spam potion. An easier way would be the other side (west side). Teleport ur characters on the platform 1 by 1. Then start the fight by teleporting bishop in the middle of your team and focus him so the voidwoken will be immediately summoned. Then set on fire the path of the magisters which will later become necro fire. There's only 1 path in the other side for enemies to climb. The gheist will focus the worm so no problem I didn't even use dome of protection.
I know this is old, but I approached it in a similar way, I started on the west by teleporting all my ranged up there. It forces almost all of them to come to you in the mean time you can create element obstacles.
The problem I’ve had with that approach is that then the voidwoken comes on that west side and my characters become essentially trapped. And, really, my biggest issue is that I’m only level seven. But I’ve done literally everything I can to try and get to level 8 around Fort Joy and there’s nothing left. I’ve killed all the magisters and passed all available quests (I screwed up a few times by not pursuing quests fully and killing characters who may have had a hand in completing said quests). Being a level 7 makes this fight against all level 8 enemies incredibly difficult. I’ve lost it probably seven times total, trying the east, west and center approach. It’s really making me consider giving up the game because I don’t feel like starting over.
this might be old but just got the game. i made some tries from the front door and wiped so i went to sleep.. while i was doing my staff i thought exactly the same plan. this game is amazing..
This game encourages you to think outside the box. Pickpocket the wand from the witch than fight her, teleport through the gargoyle maze than unlock doors etc. I love it.
Something that may help a little bit too is using the dragon to get rid of the shriekers. After killing them, he gives a 50 turn length encourage buff to every member of the party
Came up with that side way of attacking myself just a little bit ago, though I pulled all my characters back to the side plaza where the three shriekers were. This made it so the Magisters and the Worm could fight each other without me being in the way, and all I'd do for several rounds would be to put up totems. Then every time my teleport spells had regenerated, I'd run up, teleport a magister into my main gang, run back and wipe out the solitary magister. Was able to do that four times before the worm fell, leaving me with just two magisters to deal with. Made it substantially easier.
this is what i like about dos. you can approach the fights many ways. my first time doing this is i've cheesed the teleportation gloves and picked them 1 by 1 until the others are out of aggro range and in that way i can easily deal with the worm and alexander since he is the only one that triggers it.
Snuck inside through front entrance had 3 wait outside teleported Alexander from where he was to almost top of stairs towards the abandoned camp had my whole squad go in on him for 2 turns then worm showed up we all fled and let them kill each other
I teleported him into the group of seekers. When the worm spawned I had shackles of pain on him. Worm attacked me and him at the same time- both dead, because Alexander did get double damage.
talk to the bishop with a party memeber then u can set up all u want. Plus u can drop fire traps on top of oil barrel 2 chunk them without starting the fight.
I was thinking of using this method but decided on spreading out my men and attacking from multiple directions. I think the void creature probably saved me as I had two characters down to low health from the magisters. once the creature was involved I was actually quite comfortable.
I went into this blind today. I sent my Shadowblade to try to kill a minion & run but I messed it up & barely scratched the target so I ran away even sooner. Then the combat did not end & I thought it had bugged but the big blue thing appeared. The Magisters almost killed it themselves before I got involved, but were very weak & I picked off most of them just after it went down leaving Alexander to batter to death. I expect you could cheese it like this even more if you were actually planning to do so. A good set of videos!
Literally took me 3 hours but i fucking did it. Stupid ass void walker seemed to only go for me. I ended up having only Red Prince and Fane up with the annoying caster so I had to some sneaking and bating but I did it! So rewarding! Dont give up! If I can do it so can you!
Another fun method, before this fight go to the santuary and talk to Gareft. After that he will meet you right outisde where Alexander will be. Provoke Alexander and bring him to Gareth then you will get help from ALL of your allies you met at armadia including Gareth himself.
My method (works only on any ranged character/character with backlash) attack directly from the front, backlash alexandar, kill him and go invisible voidwoken will instantly spawn and let it fight the magisters until you get to magister polymorph and kill her, was done on story mode so i guess thats why it worked out
I almost had to look for a guide on how to beat Alexander and have tried methods of getting my crew in tactical high positions, but they often get teleported out by the enemy. However it is actually doable to beat them all in just a straight up fight without having to position yourself and using barrels. I did it just just a couple of hours ago (Classic difficulty) I find when fighting bosses, to actually focus on taking them out first and foremost - reasons is they often make use of abilities to take one or two of your characters out for a couple of rounds and halfing your fighting force. This is the steps I took 1. my characters were level 7 - 60 armour 2. I don't talk and just attack first with the hardest hitting ranged attack/spell I could find - I had an earth based attack boulder I threw on Alexander to whittle his armor 3. Alexander, Magers and Archers have a habit of trying to get to higher ground. - (use this to your advantage 4. Get melee and rogue characters as close to Alexander and stick to him, don't worry about the other enemies 5. Heal up with potions, armour and magic armour abilities if you can to prolong the fight - I hade Lohse sort of at the back doing most of the healing 6. continue fighting Alexander - the character will at times try and get into higher positions, use your teleport ability to bring him back down - particularly in any fire, poison ground 7. the worm will eventually pop up. 8. I moved most of characters away from the worm and kept focusing my attacks on Alexander with spells and ranged attacks. 9. Alexander's armour was gone and little bit of magic armour left. 10. I lost a character because I forwent healing them up using all action points to keep attacking Alexander...at this point the character was half the time trying to make its way to the top. 11. I resurrected one my dead characters - which was Beast and resurrect him at the bottom of the stairs and against the wall so the archer and mage at the top would not attack him 12. eventually I killed Alexander, the enemy sort of panics "Alexander is dead, you murderers" 13. the fight becomes "easier" when taking out the remains 3 ground enemies 14. another of my characters died, but I resurrected them away under the stairs for safety, by that time I had Beast fairly healed up and fighting the 3 ground guys. 15. I used teleport on eventually both the archer and mage down to the ground so I could hit them with multi hit based attacks. 16. archers and the mage just like Alexander will try their best to make their way up and waste action points running. 17. I killed all 3 ground enemies and chased after the archer and mage and had 3 of my crew in ok condition, with Beast with a sliver of health but I knew I had this.
You should not be fighting this at level 6. If you fight more on the island, you should be level 7 or 8 for this. This will make the fight easier. (You also didn't say what dif you were playing at, I am talking about dif Tactician).
i blocked the ladder where you were with a chest and the door with a metal box (i used teleportation gloves), and they all glitched out because they cant go where i was. hahaha
this game makes you think outside the box, i teleported him to chokehold and kept flaming the area with red prince, his goons couldn't get up and voidwoken finished the job
Personally i started at the same place as you did, and when the voidwoken appeared i left the gheist alone with it and got myself just out in the door. Most of them focus the voidwoken, so i left them alone with it and cheesed them down, away from the voiwoken. They all died before the voidwoken, but the gheist itself almost solod it so i could easily cc him down afterward.
i did it from the opposite side. teleported my team up, snuck up behind the magistar on the platform with the poison barrel, blocked the ladder close to her with the fire barrel, boom choke point from the only other ladder.
Lmao I gathered all the barrels I could and threw them around Alex boy here, and did this method. Then when the voidmonster came I just Stayed back and watched the madness unfold.
I setup party in room with the three shriekers. Killed the two shriekers first with the wand. Sent Fane down to start fight and brought him back to room. Everything came to room and he pops worm quick. My range fighters nowhere near worm. I get melee out of AoE distance. Enemies fight worm while my range fight them. Worm kills enemies except Alexander but his health at half. I bring melee back to help kill him. Only the 2 range enemies left that don’t come to room, kill them and fight is done. I used only one Rez scroll on Fire mage as he drop oil and fire during worm phase. I was level 7 for fight.
Telekinesis and Teleport really made this game easy , Teleported Alexander to the Entrance while your party waiting and your Archer on Stair. Shot Alexander with stacked Heavy Metal Box and Wood Chest with Telekinesis. He pretty much Deadman for cost 1 AP each Telekinesis Strike. Then Move your party as far as possible as the Big Ass Worm appeared. Let the Magister deal with it. Don't forget Loot Alexander afterwards.
just wait in the entrance, make 1 character trigger the conversation and then run to the entrance, wait for the worm to come and......... LET THEM FIGHT!
Fun boss fight just teleported Alxander infront of my melees if he started to run away teleported him back again. That man got jumped. His back up came in the right time for the voidwaker to arrive.
What I did was popped a bubble on the left side and just had everyone except a rouge killing the archer. Then I just tanked and killed till the worm then focused Alexander and the other ads as they fought the worm
I just used the front of the fort to make necroflame. Then I drew the people in to the fire till the voidwoken came. The just run and use sneak so that the worm and magisters kill each other.
Beat the second time around in classic. Had my ranger and wizard flank them from elevation while my tank and shadowblade whittled the physical armour. Once that's gone, chicken form is op. Cleaned house after the worm showed up. 😁
That is easy mode right? The Voidwoken is not moving from place to place, and the enemies are just doing basic attacks. In that sense, you can do it this way, but on normal mode staying like that gets you killed super easy. I did it like you do in this video in easy mode, but it does not work in normal. First of all, the mage on the ledge is teleporting the characters to its position, so you cannot mantain your characters there. Then, in normal mode the enemies do not focus that much on to the Voidwoken, but try to get you too, a lot. I got the Gheist going to kill my characters all the time, while not focusing on the Voidwoken.

Buy or steal best equipment that there is (Zaleskar has good inventory iirc) and try the fight again. Gear is really important here. Also dont try the fight if youre 2 levels below Alexander. Do other stuff and then when youre one level below or same, attempt again. Gear needs to be one level below or same as your level as well.
RPG Division Ye but I don't even see the point in doing that, the voidworm just does stupid dmg, he melts my guys to 25%. I dont see how even 100 more armor would help at all. The game ends for me here. Did they not test this with avg players and realise that the game essentially ends here for most??
Actually most players asked for a more challenging game that's why some fights mostly those involved in the main story are hard as f**k, i spent about 6 scrolls to revive my companions in that fight then i fled let alexandar kill the Voidwoken and came back to kill him, the ranger and mage, was the only way i could win that i was about 2 levels below alexandar. That's what i love and hate about this game i love it because it takes patience and stratgey and hate it because EVERYONE is stronger than you, plus you have 4 guys and have to fight 6 guys in a group or 4 with powerfull spells/equipment.
It's difficult but not impossible. There are a lot of unorthodox tactics that work in this game if you just start messing around and trying stuff. For instance, the drillworm is immune to most status effects except being polymorphed into a chicken. When you beat this battle, you'll be far more satisfied than than rpgs like Fallout or Skyrim where you're easily beating the deadliest enemies by midgame.
Dropkick Chainsaw redeka was simple I sort of abused the scripted mechanics when redeka goes up the ledge while i was talking I put my entire party there and my entire party just gang up on her then take out the zombies and insects ez
it worked great, although it played out a bit different in my battle. don't know if they updated the ai tactics since then. I didnt realize leaving battle fully heals your characters.
I finally managed to win this fight by ignoring the dialogue and just teleporting his ass away to the stairs. After that, I let his men and the voidwoken beat the hell out of each other, then mopped up the survivors.
I just threw oil everywhere I could become they can come up the other way around u and surround you. They ended up in thst oil on fire and with the void worm and died as I just watched. It was longer to kill that buged out wiz
Easiest method is to stay on the stairs near the abandon camp.. Send your solo character forward at the usual entrance fight for a bit then voidworm comes it will spawn near the entrance near the pillars . . Click on your party which was hanging back then start teleporting opponents towards the voidworm. Watch the magisters fight the voidworm completely ignoring you as your party will hang back until the worm dies..
no, bishop has 50% more hp armor, here they are weak, tahts why its so easy, I saw the geist hitting for 66 only, tactician geist will double crit you for 300dmg and will insta kill one of your own, same with the mage... They didn't test the diff at all, im pretty sure the developers had the best party for this, but you dont have to have to same party as them
I didnt do that yet, but anyways I managed to beat Alexander after a tough fight :) Going back to the dragon the before Im leaving the island I think. But damn those traps was what kept me from trying to help the dragon in the first place.
this is not tactical mode right? also a lot of ppl myself included had the dragon bug out and shriekers were still there on the right side. you should show how to win in tactical mode going through the main entrance instead. if u pull the magisters out the metamorph and the ranger stay on their high ledges. but during voidwalker fight bishop still focused my most squishy guys. barely won it was hard...
+Tberg81 Dome of protection is skill for every custom character. Origin characters dont have it. Also its not needed. Use the choke point to your advantage
Here is an easier method. Leave 3 of your characters far behind somewhere. Pull bishop with 4th and start running away. When worm comes out, dont attack anyone. Just let them fight while you wait. You reengage when everyone is super low on hp.
I just ran away, heal from distance the Void thing and hit the others while they were fighting, let them kill the void when they were just 3 left , and then finish the battle. my mage died twice, but well... was an interesting battle
i really dont get why people find this game hard, im dumb as fuck and i didnt have any problem with this game till now, im on act 2 btw. my tip is : gear, get the best gear possible, the end.
wtf? in my playthrough the bishop has ~540 hp and ~540 armor, and i beat them in front assault, but is was fucking hard, dont like this hiding/luring tactics its kind of soft cheat, abusing game mechancis
+Fixpont Mate, its an rpg. You can do whatever you want however you want. Thats the beauty of the genre. Cheating cause i didnt use front entrance when its clearly the worst way of dealing with that fight? Thats ridiculous.
Nice strategy friend, i killed him only using the incarnate summon and my rogue, first i went to the other side and killed the metamorph lady with the incarnate infused with blood ( using raining blood doesn't alert the woman cuz i'm above her line of vision) using mosquito swarm, and with my rogue used some backstab skills that caused bleeding and so i used cloak and dagger to escape her field of vision, and then summoned another incarnate close to me, so with the first incarnate gone, the battle is cancealed, and the woman was with 15 hp and bleeding so she died automaticaly after canceling the battle. After that is simple, i just used again the incarnate summon while i stay behind the wall, and used mosquito swarm on the enemies, wait for the skill coldown, and summoned another and used mosquito swarm, repeated this until alexander's dead, and then the worm apeared, but the strategy still works cuz the worm couldn't see me behind the wall, the archer and the rogue get close to atack the worm, but u can kill them with the same strategy, without get any damage.
You can use the the ledge to better position your party for the fight but I agree with Fixpoint, there is no joy in cheesing a game, but to each their own.
I agree to but, i developed this strategy myself, so if it's posible to do it in game, i think it's not cheesing, cuz you'll have to think to do that, i could put this in a vídeo like RPGDivision did, but i prefer to let the people do it themselves.

You can also Teleport the Gheist out of the Party to the Stairs without link all the other enemys, so you can fight him first befor you take the rest.

That source sheild spell is the key. Cast it after your characters magic and armor shields are already low and keep them in the shield.

14. another of my characters died, but I resurrected them away under the stairs for safety, by that time I had Beast fairly healed up and fighting the 3 ground guys.
15. I used teleport on eventually both the archer and mage down to the ground so I could hit them with multi hit based attacks.
16. archers and the mage just like Alexander will try their best to make their way up and waste action points running.
17. I killed all 3 ground enemies and chased after the archer and mage and had 3 of my crew in ok condition, with Beast with a sliver of health but I knew I had this.
Well I only watched half the video but this seems like a good idea.

You should not be fighting this at level 6. If you fight more on the island, you should be level 7 or 8 for this. This will make the fight easier. (You also didn't say what dif you were playing at, I am talking about dif Tactician).

Dragged them out to the stairs in front of the entrance, fled the battle after the worm showed up, cleaned up the carnage afterwards

i blocked the ladder where you were with a chest and the door with a metal box (i used teleportation gloves), and they all glitched out because they cant go where i was. hahaha
this game makes you think outside the box, i teleported him to chokehold and kept flaming the area with red prince, his goons couldn't get up and voidwoken finished the job
Personally i started at the same place as you did, and when the voidwoken appeared i left the gheist alone with it and got myself just out in the door. Most of them focus the voidwoken, so i left them alone with it and cheesed them down, away from the voiwoken. They all died before the voidwoken, but the gheist itself almost solod it so i could easily cc him down afterward.

i did it from the opposite side. teleported my team up, snuck up behind the magistar on the platform with the poison barrel, blocked the ladder close to her with the fire barrel, boom choke point from the only other ladder.
Lmao I gathered all the barrels I could and threw them around Alex boy here, and did this method. Then when the voidmonster came I just Stayed back and watched the madness unfold.

I setup party in room with the three shriekers. Killed the two shriekers first with the wand. Sent Fane down to start fight and brought him back to room. Everything came to room and he pops worm quick. My range fighters nowhere near worm. I get melee out of AoE distance. Enemies fight worm while my range fight them. Worm kills enemies except Alexander but his health at half. I bring melee back to help kill him. Only the 2 range enemies left that don’t come to room, kill them and fight is done. I used only one Rez scroll on Fire mage as he drop oil and fire during worm phase. I was level 7 for fight.
Telekinesis and Teleport really made this game easy , Teleported Alexander to the Entrance while your party waiting and your Archer on Stair. Shot Alexander with stacked Heavy Metal Box and Wood Chest with Telekinesis. He pretty much Deadman for cost 1 AP each Telekinesis Strike.
Then Move your party as far as possible as the Big Ass Worm appeared. Let the Magister deal with it. Don't forget Loot Alexander afterwards.
i have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to defeat these enemies. So frustrating
just wait in the entrance, make 1 character trigger the conversation and then run to the entrance, wait for the worm to come and......... LET THEM FIGHT!
Did the same thing, then when they finally killed the voidwoken and were weak, i finished them off with supernova
Fun boss fight just teleported Alxander infront of my melees if he started to run away teleported him back again.
That man got jumped.
His back up came in the right time for the voidwaker to arrive.
What I did was popped a bubble on the left side and just had everyone except a rouge killing the archer. Then I just tanked and killed till the worm then focused Alexander and the other ads as they fought the worm

I just used the front of the fort to make necroflame. Then I drew the people in to the fire till the voidwoken came. The just run and use sneak so that the worm and magisters kill each other.
Beat the second time around in classic. Had my ranger and wizard flank them from elevation while my tank and shadowblade whittled the physical armour. Once that's gone, chicken form is op. Cleaned house after the worm showed up. 😁

That is easy mode right? The Voidwoken is not moving from place to place, and the enemies are just doing basic attacks. In that sense, you can do it this way, but on normal mode staying like that gets you killed super easy. I did it like you do in this video in easy mode, but it does not work in normal. First of all, the mage on the ledge is teleporting the characters to its position, so you cannot mantain your characters there. Then, in normal mode the enemies do not focus that much on to the Voidwoken, but try to get you too, a lot. I got the Gheist going to kill my characters all the time, while not focusing on the Voidwoken.
how do you use some of protection right away? it looks like it requires two source points

Watch this, then pickpocket every vendor with every character. You can only pickpocket same person once per character.
Buy or steal best equipment that there is (Zaleskar has good inventory iirc) and try the fight again. Gear is really important here. Also dont try the fight if youre 2 levels below Alexander. Do other stuff and then when youre one level below or same, attempt again. Gear needs to be one level below or same as your level as well.
RPG Division Ye but I don't even see the point in doing that, the voidworm just does stupid dmg, he melts my guys to 25%. I dont see how even 100 more armor would help at all. The game ends for me here. Did they not test this with avg players and realise that the game essentially ends here for most??
Actually most players asked for a more challenging game that's why some fights mostly those involved in the main story are hard as f**k, i spent about 6 scrolls to revive my companions in that fight then i fled let alexandar kill the Voidwoken and came back to kill him, the ranger and mage, was the only way i could win that i was about 2 levels below alexandar. That's what i love and hate about this game i love it because it takes patience and stratgey and hate it because EVERYONE is stronger than you, plus you have 4 guys and have to fight 6 guys in a group or 4 with powerfull spells/equipment.
It's difficult but not impossible. There are a lot of unorthodox tactics that work in this game if you just start messing around and trying stuff. For instance, the drillworm is immune to most status effects except being polymorphed into a chicken. When you beat this battle, you'll be far more satisfied than than rpgs like Fallout or Skyrim where you're easily beating the deadliest enemies by midgame.
Dropkick Chainsaw redeka was simple I sort of abused the scripted mechanics when redeka goes up the ledge while i was talking I put my entire party there and my entire party just gang up on her then take out the zombies and insects ez
it worked great, although it played out a bit different in my battle. don't know if they updated the ai tactics since then. I didnt realize leaving battle fully heals your characters.
I finally managed to win this fight by ignoring the dialogue and just teleporting his ass away to the stairs. After that, I let his men and the voidwoken beat the hell out of each other, then mopped up the survivors.

I used the choke point and after I destroyed Alexander and his goons I left the fight and used the bedroll to get to full health
I just threw oil everywhere I could become they can come up the other way around u and surround you. They ended up in thst oil on fire and with the void worm and died as I just watched. It was longer to kill that buged out wiz
Easiest method is to stay on the stairs near the abandon camp.. Send your solo character forward at the usual entrance fight for a bit then voidworm comes it will spawn near the entrance near the pillars . . Click on your party which was hanging back then start teleporting opponents towards the voidworm. Watch the magisters fight the voidworm completely ignoring you as your party will hang back until the worm dies..

no, bishop has 50% more hp armor, here they are weak, tahts why its so easy, I saw the geist hitting for 66 only, tactician geist will double crit you for 300dmg and will insta kill one of your own, same with the mage... They didn't test the diff at all, im pretty sure the developers had the best party for this, but you dont have to have to same party as them

I didnt do that yet, but anyways I managed to beat Alexander after a tough fight :) Going back to the dragon the before Im leaving the island I think. But damn those traps was what kept me from trying to help the dragon in the first place.
Also, getting the complete Braccus Rex armor set gives you a few purge uses.

also a lot of ppl myself included had the dragon bug out and shriekers were still there on the right side.
you should show how to win in tactical mode going through the main entrance instead.
if u pull the magisters out the metamorph and the ranger stay on their high ledges. but during voidwalker fight bishop still focused my most squishy guys.

Dome of protection is skill for every custom character. Origin characters dont have it.
Also its not needed.
Use the choke point to your advantage
Here is an easier method. Leave 3 of your characters far behind somewhere. Pull bishop with 4th and start running away. When worm comes out, dont attack anyone. Just let them fight while you wait. You reengage when everyone is super low on hp.
I just ran away, heal from distance the Void thing and hit the others while they were fighting, let them kill the void when they were just 3 left , and then finish the battle. my mage died twice, but well... was an interesting battle

i really dont get why people find this game hard, im dumb as fuck and i didnt have any problem with this game till now, im on act 2 btw. my tip is : gear, get the best gear possible, the end.
wtf? in my playthrough the bishop has ~540 hp and ~540 armor, and i beat them in front assault, but is was fucking hard, dont like this hiding/luring tactics its kind of soft cheat, abusing game mechancis

Mate, its an rpg. You can do whatever you want however you want. Thats the beauty of the genre. Cheating cause i didnt use front entrance when its clearly the worst way of dealing with that fight? Thats ridiculous.

Nice strategy friend, i killed him only using the incarnate summon and my rogue, first i went to the other side and killed the metamorph lady with the incarnate infused with blood ( using raining blood doesn't alert the woman cuz i'm above her line of vision) using mosquito swarm, and with my rogue used some backstab skills that caused bleeding and so i used cloak and dagger to escape her field of vision, and then summoned another incarnate close to me, so with the first incarnate gone, the battle is cancealed, and the woman was with 15 hp and bleeding so she died automaticaly after canceling the battle. After that is simple, i just used again the incarnate summon while i stay behind the wall, and used mosquito swarm on the enemies, wait for the skill coldown, and summoned another and used mosquito swarm, repeated this until alexander's dead, and then the worm apeared, but the strategy still works cuz the worm couldn't see me behind the wall, the archer and the rogue get close to atack the worm, but u can kill them with the same strategy, without get any damage.
You can use the the ledge to better position your party for the fight but I agree with Fixpoint, there is no joy in cheesing a game, but to each their own.
I agree to but, i developed this strategy myself, so if it's posible to do it in game, i think it's not cheesing, cuz you'll have to think to do that, i could put this in a vídeo like RPGDivision did, but i prefer to let the people do it themselves.
