Who will play this build when it's obvious from this gameplay that most of the time the spear user kills all the mobs before the melee user is even able to swing their weapon? Hmm - I don’t expect more than a class and a new story chapter tbh. I’m pretty sure the expansion won’t live up to the hype. Also it’s only early access. If GGG gets like 100k players into early access it will be more than enough to test the game and the economy and go all out for the actual release of the game which will happen 6 months after early access (more likely 9-12 months) and by that time ppl are bored of d4 for sure

I still think $40+ for DLC is insane. POE might have ridiculous prices for cosmetics but ALL content is free and that is such a huge difference. It shows the difference in priorities for the companies in my opinion. GGG cares about everyone enjoying their game as much as possible, while Blizzards focus is solely on ensuring people have the opportunities to spend more $$.

Free to play casually, sure. Your ability to play the actual game rather than play 'organize the stash tabs' is greatly enhanced by spending ~$20-30 on dedicated space for currency, gems, flasks, maps, etc. And you're locked out of putting items up for sale without those premium stash tabs. And while you're complaining about DLC prices; cosmetics are (still expensive, but) way cheaper in D4. $25 for a full head-toe set, usually with a weapon skin as well... compared to PoE charging that for the body armor slot alone, another $13+$8+8 for the helm, gloves, and boots, and then add a weapon skin. It's not even close. GGG have even figured out how to get people to buy cosmetics for individual skill effects!

Played Diablo 4 (didn't liked, just completed story and done)... Tried Path of Exile and was blown away by quality of content and fun game-play... I will never return to DIablo 4, nether Diablo 5, it is just not my pie - But I glad for people who liked it
I feel like D4 was really far behind but now I'm feeling poe 2 is playing catch up suddenly with the season 4 success stealing me and many of my friends back to D4. Not to mention the expansion with season 5 leading upto it could be an even bigger challenge for poe 2 to overcome than we thought. Competition is a good thing either way for us the players.

People didnt like the last season of poe1 but im still playing it. The problem is im very struggling with my toxic rain trickster build on my PS5 but PS4 version. Level 95 already but wasted and died so much time to reach level 95. Bought some skins for my both ballista toxic rain and normal toxic rain gem. Fps drops till 10 fps mostly while farming breach and other end game contents 😅😅 Hope Poe 2 comes fast.. I heard that the game is very well optimised on PS5, base resolution/focused framerate is 2K 60fps (locked at) am i right ? Was there any option to change this ? I mean 1080p 120hz perhaps or is there a 4K resolution option in Poe 2 ? What kind of accessibly they offered this time. Can you adjust the size of texts for example or customize HUD ?

Just my opinion: Blizzard is really great in marketing, "hype growing", and creating expetations... but the game, even after season 4, is still... "meh", nothing expecial. And, biggest question: WHERE'S DIABLO? In this title we have Lilith... now "Mephisto expansion"... but where is Diablo?! Must we wait (and pay again) "Baal expansion" in 2025? And finally, wait and pay a "Diablo expansion" in 2026?! Thats why I'll never spend a dollar more on this.. It's so easy to wait a month more, and play PoE2 for free... (PS: I dont'care about money: I'am so happy to have spent 30 bucks on PoE microtransations, and I regret so much to have bought every Diablo games francise since D2!... that was the last wonderful game!)
First of all, D4 is only targeting D3 fans for quite awhile now. Second, POE2 seems to be targeting all that juicy Diablo playerbase that POE never could. The only potential problem could be the OG POE fans. If you guys expect POE2 to play exactly like POE, then you're going to ruin it for all of us. Some things got to change. 1. Having 50 different key binds for potions needs to go, period. 1 for health and 1 for mana is all you need. 2. Scrolls. They're annoying, they're stupid. They got to go. 3. Inventory management needs to get a bit streamlined. Not to D4 level but inventory tetris needs to be heavily toned down. It's just annoying. 4. General UI clarity. The game's UI still looks very dated. It needs to be heavily updated.
In all seriousness tho, can d4 be even considered poe2 competition? Ignoring blizz and the game's flaws, both seem SO much different, it kinda feels like comparing elden ring and, idk, Skyrim. Both are medieval fantasy action games, but they are SO different no one says they are the same genre. And D4 feels more like an mmorpg with extra steps if anything... That and the fact that GGG is actively trying to bring so much new stuff to the genre, I feel like they have the opportunity to redefine what a ARPG should be in a BIG way (or create a new genre altogether). Big doses of hopium, yes, I know.

As for POE2 vs D4 expansion, the only thing I will say right now is as follow for each game: - D4 expansion: At 54$ for me in canadian dollars, I expect much more than the base D4 game we got last year. I am not into cosmetics, especially when they are using them to cover for the costs of the base functionallities that are missing. - POE2: I am starting to be scared of the number of buttons required to press to play. I enjoyed my RF character since there is little to no buttons needed to play. But between WASD movement, skills and potions, I am truly scared it might be too much for me. At least, the game is free so I can try it out and hope for the best.
I have very little confidence in VOH being anything to get excited about. And I'm sure as hell not paying $40-$90 unless there are some absolutely rave reviews. Yes, Blizzard has amazing cinematics but we're here for the game play, not to watch movies. Just like you mentioned, it takes them forever to make corrections to the game and I just don't believe that they have the talent to pull off an Amazing expansion after it's taken them a year just to get the game to the point of where it should have been at it's release. I think the cinematics are top, an extra class we will seen could be witchdoctor 2.0, yeay more different locations where we can kill helltide? Metcanaries (recycled from D3 and d3) New skills/paragon/glyphs could be cool. But the elephant in the house is the co-op mode if u get dragged that u can't achieve more all content sololy, it will be a huge F.
I personally am thrilled for both. They aren't competitors for me. I will play both a ton. When my mood changes I will switch. If nov hits and they both start around the same time, poe2 will take priority. But I will be playing the d4 expansion eventually for sure.
Competition means that the two are on equal footing. Despite poe's messes, it's always something you can return to... however, even D4s best foot forward is a step TO the starting line. Compare that to PoE2, and we have a game that'll have more content than D4 will have in the next 3 years. Even the greatest PoE simps minus you admit that Diablo's gameplay (please google the definition) is superior when it comes to combat. And don’t hype PoE2 to a competitor of D4: fact is the majority of gamers who play D4 (and that’s the majority of its player base!) aren’t interested in PoE at all. They find the new itemisation of D4 too complicated. They won’t touch PoE2, especially when they have to kite the first arc's mobs for 2 min straight.
Bruh, there is simply no competition here. The game released in a terrible state, and it took them a year to get it to a position where it is "kind of" playable but still boring. And now they have the nerve to announce an expansion pack? Meanwhile, GGG is giving us all our MTX from PoE 1 in PoE 2. Honestly, I was contemplating uninstalling Diablo 4 to free up some storage space for PoE 2. After seeing the expansion reveal, I had no doubt that I'm done with Blizzard and uninstalled D4 already. Not really a Blizzard hater because I love WoW and other versions of Diablo but I honestly found Diablo 4 so boring. I have tried so many times to watch streams and make it through the campaign but there’s just something so boring about the game that it just doesn’t feel right. It just feels like you’re walking through the game with no challenge or danger whatsoever.

The only chance Diablo 4 would have is if they added Leaderboards for exponentially harder content, something like greater rifts. Pit would do but players allready can do max lvl i think so there is no point.

I will say for myself that the reason I dropped out early(after about a month) of necropolis had nothing to do with the league itself. Lots of other games right now and also POE 2 on the mind makes it a little harder to want to invest my time into POE 1. But I'm just one person.

Free to play casually, sure. Your ability to play the actual game rather than play 'organize the stash tabs' is greatly enhanced by spending ~$20-30 on dedicated space for currency, gems, flasks, maps, etc. And you're locked out of putting items up for sale without those premium stash tabs.
And while you're complaining about DLC prices; cosmetics are (still expensive, but) way cheaper in D4. $25 for a full head-toe set, usually with a weapon skin as well... compared to PoE charging that for the body armor slot alone, another $13+$8+8 for the helm, gloves, and boots, and then add a weapon skin. It's not even close. GGG have even figured out how to get people to buy cosmetics for individual skill effects!

Played Diablo 4 (didn't liked, just completed story and done)...
Tried Path of Exile and was blown away by quality of content and fun game-play...
I will never return to DIablo 4, nether Diablo 5, it is just not my pie - But I glad for people who liked it

I feel like D4 was really far behind but now I'm feeling poe 2 is playing catch up suddenly with the season 4 success stealing me and many of my friends back to D4. Not to mention the expansion with season 5 leading upto it could be an even bigger challenge for poe 2 to overcome than we thought. Competition is a good thing either way for us the players.

People didnt like the last season of poe1 but im still playing it. The problem is im very struggling with my toxic rain trickster build on my PS5 but PS4 version. Level 95 already but wasted and died so much time to reach level 95. Bought some skins for my both ballista toxic rain and normal toxic rain gem. Fps drops till 10 fps mostly while farming breach and other end game contents 😅😅 Hope Poe 2 comes fast..
I heard that the game is very well optimised on PS5, base resolution/focused framerate is 2K 60fps (locked at) am i right ? Was there any option to change this ? I mean 1080p 120hz perhaps or is there a 4K resolution option in Poe 2 ? What kind of accessibly they offered this time. Can you adjust the size of texts for example or customize HUD ?

Man, I wish PoE 2 will become the #1 game in its genre, not just for fans, but for the general public as well. GGG so deserve it.
Just my opinion: Blizzard is really great in marketing, "hype growing", and creating expetations... but the game, even after season 4, is still... "meh", nothing expecial. And, biggest question: WHERE'S DIABLO? In this title we have Lilith... now "Mephisto expansion"... but where is Diablo?! Must we wait (and pay again) "Baal expansion" in 2025? And finally, wait and pay a "Diablo expansion" in 2026?! Thats why I'll never spend a dollar more on this.. It's so easy to wait a month more, and play PoE2 for free... (PS: I dont'care about money: I'am so happy to have spent 30 bucks on PoE microtransations, and I regret so much to have bought every Diablo games francise since D2!... that was the last wonderful game!)
First of all, D4 is only targeting D3 fans for quite awhile now. Second, POE2 seems to be targeting all that juicy Diablo playerbase that POE never could. The only potential problem could be the OG POE fans. If you guys expect POE2 to play exactly like POE, then you're going to ruin it for all of us. Some things got to change.
1. Having 50 different key binds for potions needs to go, period. 1 for health and 1 for mana is all you need.
2. Scrolls. They're annoying, they're stupid. They got to go.
3. Inventory management needs to get a bit streamlined. Not to D4 level but inventory tetris needs to be heavily toned down. It's just annoying.
4. General UI clarity. The game's UI still looks very dated. It needs to be heavily updated.
GGG should not be worries about the Diablo cosmetics DLC THATS ALL ITS GONNA BE more microtransactions NOTHING MORE....
In all seriousness tho, can d4 be even considered poe2 competition? Ignoring blizz and the game's flaws, both seem SO much different, it kinda feels like comparing elden ring and, idk, Skyrim. Both are medieval fantasy action games, but they are SO different no one says they are the same genre. And D4 feels more like an mmorpg with extra steps if anything... That and the fact that GGG is actively trying to bring so much new stuff to the genre, I feel like they have the opportunity to redefine what a ARPG should be in a BIG way (or create a new genre altogether). Big doses of hopium, yes, I know.

As for POE2 vs D4 expansion, the only thing I will say right now is as follow for each game:
- D4 expansion: At 54$ for me in canadian dollars, I expect much more than the base D4 game we got last year. I am not into cosmetics, especially when they are using them to cover for the costs of the base functionallities that are missing.
- POE2: I am starting to be scared of the number of buttons required to press to play. I enjoyed my RF character since there is little to no buttons needed to play. But between WASD movement, skills and potions, I am truly scared it might be too much for me. At least, the game is free so I can try it out and hope for the best.
I have very little confidence in VOH being anything to get excited about. And I'm sure as hell not paying $40-$90 unless there are some absolutely rave reviews. Yes, Blizzard has amazing cinematics but we're here for the game play, not to watch movies. Just like you mentioned, it takes them forever to make corrections to the game and I just don't believe that they have the talent to pull off an Amazing expansion after it's taken them a year just to get the game to the point of where it should have been at it's release.

I personally am thrilled for both. They aren't competitors for me. I will play both a ton. When my mood changes I will switch. If nov hits and they both start around the same time, poe2 will take priority. But I will be playing the d4 expansion eventually for sure.
Competition means that the two are on equal footing. Despite poe's messes, it's always something you can return to... however, even D4s best foot forward is a step TO the starting line. Compare that to PoE2, and we have a game that'll have more content than D4 will have in the next 3 years.

Honestly, I was contemplating uninstalling Diablo 4 to free up some storage space for PoE 2. After seeing the expansion reveal, I had no doubt that I'm done with Blizzard and uninstalled D4 already. There is no polishing that piece of garbage.

Do you really know the numbers of the active Diablo IV playerbase? There are no official statistics nor does D4 have an API. I also think the playerbase is larger yes but how much is not known

The only chance Diablo 4 would have is if they added Leaderboards for exponentially harder content, something like greater rifts. Pit would do but players allready can do max lvl i think so there is no point.

I will say for myself that the reason I dropped out early(after about a month) of necropolis had nothing to do with the league itself. Lots of other games right now and also POE 2 on the mind makes it a little harder to want to invest my time into POE 1. But I'm just one person.
