These PTE Academic test changes for 2021 are incredibly insightful! Thanks for breaking it down and helping us understand what to expect. We're here to learn and adapt, and your video is a valuable resource for that. Keep up the great work!
From 16/11/2021 Pearson will implement the following changes: 1/ A shorter test: Reducing the test length from 3 hours to 2 hours by having fewer questions in each section. 2/ Enhanced score report feedback: removing enabling skills section and replace it with a personalized skills profile which will give additional feedback and suggestions to students. 3/ PTE Academic Online: An at-home English test for those who seek admission into educational institutions ( not valid for visa and immigration purposes). However, writing in exam centres should be valid for all PR & Visas.
A huge thanks to you and E2 Family! I only followed your UA-cam channel contents and got 82 overall in my first attempt! Will definitely reccommend everyone I know!
Thank you very much E2 team and Jay for your awesome tips!! Took my first PTE exam two days ago and I got 86 overall with S90, L89, R82 and W84. I really only got two days to prepare and I spent them watching your video and prepare by doing Pearson mock tests and the questions from Pearson academic bank.
Pearson is also launching PTE Academic Online. Exactly the same test as PTE Academic, are now offering it as a new online proctored option for people who prefer to sit the test remotely, from the comfort of their own home.

It means less number of questions, less number of questions means a high concentration of marks, high concentration of marks means a high chance of risking more marks. Am I right?
I request you guys to ask Pearson to introduce PTE for Canada Permanent residency, we all are suffering a lot due to IELTS writing. I love PTE, it is fair, consistent and an awesome test.!!
I though in every part the difficult section point decrease like retell lecture, describe image, reading MCQ MA and SA ,, same as listening ..it's benefit or not
Hi! I think you've made a mistake in the 3 hour test format for the reading section. You've said that there are 5-6 questions for Multiple Choice Multiple Answer but I'm pretty sure it's always been 2-3. Especially because if there were 5-6 questions for MCMA then the overall amount of reading questions would be 18-23, not the 15-20 that you've listed.
With regard to the number of questions in Writing, Reading and Listening, it is the same even if you take the PTE now. I just took PTE last 11th Aug. The number of questions between the current and the new seems to overlap. The only change that is vital is the speaking. Imagine reducing the describe image, answers to questions and retell lecture by half. Thats a lot.
Thank you for this information! Although, I'm quite curious regarding the decreased number of items on some specific question types (e.g. DI, RL). With the decrease in the number of items, does this also mean that the weight of these items (in regard to your scores) will also change? I mean, if they decrease, it's just fair to say that their score weight will increase, since it'll take a fewer items now to contribute to the score. Hope that makes sense!
Mr. Jay, I am a member of the E2 language, but I am disappointed by your live classes for the PTE method. I think some of your expert teachers are rushing like anything to just complete the tasks and get finish soon as they have to take another class and we are left without proper explanation. Whereas there are also some other excellent teachers giving their extra time and explaining very nicely.
Hey Jay. 👋 can ya plz explain..Time is reduced overall means time fr performing each taks is also reduced?? Like if we get 2 minutes fr reorder paragraph... Will it be now only 1 mint fr each reorder paragraph.??
@@E2PTE Somewhat agree and disagree. For most international students, fewer questions mean more time restraints. Why? You have no room to make mistakes. Take the example of DI (Describe Image). For most native speakers, I think it is a piece of great news indeed. Of course, this is my personal opinion.
Hi Jay, i tried to book exam before and after 16 th of November But exam length comes 135 minutes on both dates. Can you please explain reason 👍 Thanks Jay
Overall, This means that each question will now carry more points than before. For example, in Retell lecture you would get around 12 points after doing 4 questions. Which means each question carried 3 points. Now if they give you only 2 questions, the worth of each question will be 6 points. So, if you mess up on even one question, your score may drop significantly.

Where are Pearson mock test and academic bank available?
can you send me writting template please?
Thanks, guys! I wish I can pass the exam, so lucky time 17-Nov!😉
Shorter tests mean they can do more tests in one day. More tests, more money. They don't care about test takers, they care about profit.
I am glad I already did mine and passed with an overall of 86 with listening and speaking 90. Thanks Jay for your tutoring.
Can you please tell which templates u used for speaking and writing?
Hi, please share the templates. Thanks.

Sadly, the Australian government will not recognize it. They did it with TOFEL from home test.
Describe image: 3 x 1min = 3 min
Retell lecture: 2 x 2min = 4 min
Answer short Question: 6 x 30sec = 3 min
Summarize written text: 1 x 10min = 10 min
Multiple choice, multiple answer (Reading): 5 x 2min = 10 min
Multiple choice, single answer (Reading): 1 x 1min = 1 min
Summarize Spoken Text: 2 x 12 = 24 min
Multiple choice, multiple answer (Listening): 2 x 1.5min = 3 min
Highlight Correct Summary: 2 x 1.5min = 3 min
Multiple choice, single answer (Listening): 2 x 1.5min = 3 min
Select Missing Words: 2 x 1.5min = 3 min
Total decreased question time: 67 minutes
BUT! if they use 2 Summarize written text or Summarize Spoken Text it will be catastrophic for test-takers because it will add 10 min to a very limited time.

At 8:27 of your video, you've written "What is changing on November". Is it ON November or IN November?
sir if you could just compare PTE and IELTS scores, i mean what's the system of equivalency right now in Australia?
When areb you doing the full 2 hour mock test live ?
Is it changing in all the countries including Australia ?? As well as does the scoring for each section will change or remain same ??
All countries. Scoring stays the same.
You the best Jay!!
Thank you for that!

what are the best platform to practice for PTE

Not sure what you mean. There are no changes to length (time) and question numbers until November 16.
Thanks. The questions will be reduced , will take a few marks or still the same as well as answer short questions????
Is it both for uni and immigration?
So, do you recommend people to go for the new version or try to book the exam before the new changes?
I’d wait.
Repeat sentence is still the same 🥺
Yep - still need to prepare properly ✊
Sir where I can get pte practice material ??
You didn't talk about online PTE test.
Should I book before 16 or after 16..November please suggest...
The real test can be conduct at our own place ? Ex: in our own homes ?
Any updates for disabled students?
Not that we know of. Please check with Pearson official 👍

Yes.

Hey Jay. 👋 can ya plz explain..Time is reduced overall means time fr performing each taks is also reduced?? Like if we get 2 minutes fr reorder paragraph... Will it be now only 1 mint fr each reorder paragraph.??
No. Same amount of time for each task. Time reduced overall AND number of tasks reduced overall = same timing.
Thankya so much fr replying..I was much concerned abt this.
Do universities accept this exam's certificate?
Bro
Can you take PTE ACADEMIC at your home?
Is it possible to get 60 with one month of preparation?
It's easy as pie ... Yes, you can
What is Personal Introduction in speaking ? …. Jay never taught us that.
2 hours test will be easy for students.
Hi Jay, so will the distribution of marks be changed and if yes, will the reduced questions give their points for the not reduced one ?
That’s a great question! I’m not entirely sure as we have no access the any documentation about how the scoring distribution and weighting works.
Are you preparing for the pte exam if yes and interested drop me your email for study materials
it's that good or bad??
Neither good nor bad.
Less tiring means we can stay focused till the end of the exam.

Less time means it’s getting harder
Not true. There is less time, but also fewer questions. It’s not getting harder, or easier.
