When I learned in high school how countries were dependent on Russia for things like oil and gas, I was dumbfounded. To think you would let yourself be dependent on what is essentially an enemy was just unfathomably stupid to me, and I have ever since hoped for a day where that wouldn't be a thing anymore.
Russia took over land that wasn't theirs so they could extract all the resources. Look how big it is on a map. Time to break up that empire into plausible countries

@@catherinekeller4230 yes I worded myself deliberately, a priority, not the top priority, but restoration of the country with half its economy crashed is a lengthy and complicated process, it needs to be approached from dozens of different angles, and Ukraine has a variety of assets that will be of use, it's already home to a number of unique environments and is highly talented and educated in all sorts of skill sets. The top concern is naturally the people. Professional psychological help is going to be difficult at that sort of scale, but I'm sure there will be nonprofits set up to at least give people someone to talk to and maybe they can come up with methodics the volunteers can follow to help alleviate the pain and identify the people most in need of professional help. Relatively few Ukrainians are regular churchgoers in absolute terms, even though the country is overwhelmingly Christian, and part of the church in Ukraine is subsidiary of Russian orthodox, with connections to the Russian government apparatus, which is a hazard, they might be down to sabotage - some Russian orthodox leaders have been part of the pro war PR campain. A strong alternative is needed.
