This song was written by Ed Sheeran, Takahiro Moriuchi(Lead Singer) and Masato Hayakawa of Coldrain. Interesting fact it was the main theme for the Live action movie release of Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin: The Final) This band is out of control and so good!
OOR has been around since 2005.
Taka's voice and lyrics blow my mind with every song. Tomo on drums if you watch a few of their clips gives his all to every song
Toru is a magician with a guitar...and that smile 😏 he has. In Yume Yume he even does a rap section to the song.
Ryota on bass is an absolute legend 🤘🏼
If you have time, watch their performance at the 1Chance Festival. The crowds reaction to them from about halfway through will blow you away!

If you're interested to know them better, I highly recommend watching Flip a Coin, it's a documentary about their special online concert in 2020 after covid canceled their asia tour. You'll see their personality, their history, their love, passion, and dedication in creating LIVE performances for their audiences🤍
Hello! Fans of ONE OK ROCK are called ONE OK ROCKers (we call each other as OORers for short ^^). They have a basically a cult-following in Japan, many countries in Asia, and they've been steadily growing their fanbase in North America, the UK and in South America. Their music can be described as anthems containing messages of hope, pursuing one's dreams, love, etc.
Fun fact: The Luxury Disease Japan Tour is their first stadium-scale concert tour since the pandemic and they were lucky at the time they were held because the Japanese gov't just eased some restrictions re: concerts just in time for their concerts! Japanese audiences were able to sing and shout and their passion is felt even in the recording! 😊
Toru (Guitar) and Ryota (Bass) were actually in a dance group back when they were young! Later on Toru started the band and encouraged Ryota to learn bass. Taka (Guitar) was a former idol as well, and later Toru recruited him to be the band's singer. As he was born to parents who are singers, he was pretty much exposed to music growing up. He knows how to play the piano and guitar and has used them in various performances in his career in OOR. Tomoya (Drums) studied in a music academy before getting introduced to ONE OK ROCK, and contributed a lot in making OOR's sound cohesive during their early years due to his wide knowledge in music theory.
Aside from their live performances, I strongly recommend you try watching their Flip the Coin documentary on Netflix. This docu follows the band as they prepare for their first online concert held in 2021 called 'Field of Wonder' (this concert can be bought via DVD or Bluray format!). It includes some insights to the members' past and even some clips from the concert itself 👀 Here's the link: www.netflix.com/title/81450779
ONE OK ROCK has some really good concert DVDs they've released in the past, and most of the live performances you see on their UA-cam channel are just a taste of their greatness, if I say so myself. All OORers agree that their live stuff are way better than their studio recordings - that's how GOOD they are at their craft 🔥

Finally, One Ok Rock! I've been hoping you'd check them out. All of the band members have great musicality. They sometimes play other instruments for special arrangements of their songs in the live performances. For instance in "One Way Ticket" live from Ambitions Japan Tour 2017, Ryota the bassist plays keyboards. In "Paper Planes" live from 35xxxv Japan Tour 2015, the guitarist and bassist swap instrument, and also the vocalist and drummer.
"Make It Out Alive" live from 1Chance Festival 2023 is a great one if you want to see a more rock side of them.
The members are:
- Taka: vocal (sometimes plays acoustic guitar too)
- Toru: guitar
- Ryota: bass
- Tomoya: drums (also sometimes plays piano)

They are a fantastic rabit hole. I like to say that the fans are the 5th member of the band. They all sing backup vocals including the drummer. And they all play instruments. They are by far the most humble talented and amazing band I have ever had the honor to see live in 53 years of life. I've seen a lot of bands and o could not compare them with no one. ❤❤

Taka's voice is incredible...and the whole band always sounds great, I was lucky to see them in my country and Japan in 2018 and I swear I will never be disappointed. something I would love to recommend to you is "Take What You Want Ambitions JAPAN Dome Tour 2018" I was there and it was epic... that version is dedicated to Chester Bennington ♥Greetings from Argentina.
All I can say is that One Ok Rock values live performances so much that they gave their all energy during their shows. They are vwey good musicians and Taka (lead vocalist) is insanely good in his vocals and crowd control. Yes he can play guitar, keys, and drums, but he only plays and sings rarely on stage. Usually during acoustic set. I recommend checking the below songs.

They’re actually not an independent artist as they’re signed to Fueled By Ramen and Warner Bros internationally. That said, they don’t do a good job of promoting them so OOR have mostly done most of the work themselves through their own management agency called “10969 Inc.” Which is a play on words for One Ok Rock.
Hopefully they stay away from the evil in the American music system

Best rock band in the world as far as I’m concerned and the best tenor vocalist on this planet. Taka’s vocals are a must listen. I love their music.
It's very subjective, their musicality are not hard at all to put together but their lyrics and harmony are great. They are basically more pop than rock, call them a rock band is almost a stretch.
@@AllanMurmann yes music is subjective, and yet their music is listed in the Rock genre in Apple Music and not pop. It might be alternative rock but not pop. In fact on google they are called a rock band by all the media.

Bro dont compare u2 to foo fighters and one ok rock sonically, they are far more poppy than Foos and OOR. Taka being the best tenor in rock is not subjective though, there is better tenors in other genres like korean balladeers (Jung Dong Ha, Park Hyo Shin) but there is not better tenor vocalist in rock today@@AllanMurmann

OOR started the band when they were 17-18 years old, now mid 30s. They've put in 100% into growing their music and their passion/dedication shines through. Looking forward to more OOR reactions!!
I also recommend another jrock band - My First Story - in which Taka's younger brother is vocalist; Taka is the guy who sing in OOR
As far as I know from the live videos that I have seen from OOR. Taka (the main vocalist) plays several musical intruments (drums, guitar, piano) and he also composes as well (most of the songs from their younger days were mainly made by Taka). And One Ok Rock has been around for a LONG time (2005 if I'm not wrong) and it's such a miracle that they are still growing and finally getting some well-deserved recognition worldwide (even tho it's not enough tbh 😢)

Taka (Front man) can play guitar and They're all can play more than one instrument Tomoya (drummer) also can play piano, Toru (guitarists) can play bass, Ryota (bassist) can play guitar and cello. Anyway these are just example they're more than these.

I found them after ATEEZ. And they are what I call the Japanese ATEEZ in feeling of the emotion that they use and their stage presence. Absolutely adore them.
