This is great! This is probably the most detailed, interactive, useful and highest quality comparison I've ever heard (I'm talking about the website). Thank you for sharing it with us!
the site is one of the best and most educational sound comparisons i have ever heard... and i operate a mic comparison site, haha. thank you for your excellent service!
Thank you for this work. Unfortunately, AB mic placement is not mono-compatible because of phase differences between the two channels. Mono compatibility allows control of stereo width, which is important for many production techniques. Mono-compatible mic placements are XY and, better, mid-side (M/S). ORTF is almost mono-compatible.
I always wondered why sample library engineers like Spitfire Audio always make a big deal on the microphone position in their products. Messing with the knob back and forth doesn't explain much, but now I understand.
Hi, i like to record a symphony orchesta with a AB, aboveve the sholders of the conductor, 3 meter high. The distance of the AB =37,4 cm. Then 45 degrees in reality is 45 degrees in the standard stereo play back
Well -- the hall is not exactly the most charming acoustically ( I know from experience there. ! ) , however even more important to find good positioning i suppose !

WONDERFUL work!!! This is very useful and thank you for sharing: I am sharing with with my buddies that teach recording.
Now this is an excellent video, I've just been commissioned to record an orchestra next month and you are making me re-think my mic placements...
It's also very helpful to have very expensive mics, preamps, and a great hall. :-)
this is incredible work. this is exactly what i needed wow.
Amazing! Thanks for this glorious content!
The horn bell is so rich imo, I always want a little bit of it!
And how can a full orchestra flash mob put the microphone when it's being held outside?
What an Incredible demonstration.
Amazing project!! Could we know the evaluation results? Would be interesting...
Great Project and website ...

All true, but a choir or organ recorded with some decent omnis in a decent acoustic sounds so much better!
Brilliant!
Amazing! Thank you. Will check this out.
Increible, muchas gracias por compartir!!!
Fantastic project, thank you for sharing!

Super! Thanks! But how to chose right sound (mic). I like more than 50% of mic placements on every instrument you recorded. :)
Great content!
Thank you. Very useful.
Awesome. Thank you
Sweet!!!
Which microphones were used?
Yes same question from me
DPA 4006 & Schoeps BLM 03C (PZM)

From website said: Sennheiser ambeo vr. I also saw an image of DPA 4006
GREAT HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What type of mic is in position G?
DPA4006
완전 친절
Hi, does anybody know the specs of the recording. At which height do they place each mic?
they literally made a website for it lmao pay attention
Why use a false thumbnail?
anche il luogo aggiunge sviluppo armonico
Is there any chance you also recorded a loudspeaker to capture impulse responses of each position?
💖✨
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much for sharing this.
A fantastic video! Thank you!
