    Here are the ingredients in grams!
    Wet Ingredients:
    1 egg
    2g vanilla extract
    38g canola oil or any neutral oil
    177g drinking water
    Dry Ingredients:
    169g sweet rice flour (Mochiko)
    35g cornstarch (a little less for softer waffles)
    7g baking powder
    27g sugar
    3g salt

    This is seriously THE BEST waffle recipe ever. If anyone is having a doubt whether or not to follow this recipe...JUST GO AND MAKE THEM NOW, it's soooo amazinggg😌

    We take waffles seriously in our house ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn and worked our old one through many years of Sunday brunches till it finally gave out on us. Our old one only made two at a time, this one makes four! Nicely sized 1 inch thick which are lovely! Now the kids don't have to wait as long to eat our weekly waffle breakfast and everyone's are hot if we wait and eat all together! Setting 3 seems to work perfect for golden brown. Be sure to pour the batter in the center of each waffle square, not the center of the iron like the novice that posted the scorched waffles photo. About a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter in each seemed to work well for us. We tested making just one at a time so we could use all the remaining batter and it made it just as fluffy and golden as when we made 4!

    I just made this recipe today OMG so crispy and chewy inside, I added cocoa powder and brown sugar a little bit it’s soooo goood my husband and my daughter ate lots of them. Thank you so much

    My daughter it tastes like taiyaki lol. I like the texture , definitely very crispy but I miss the buttery flavor of conventional waffles....will try to mix it up next time!

    Awesome, will definitely try it.. I accidentally bought this type of rice flour and had no idea what to do with it, can I keep the extra batter in the fridge until the next day?

      Thank you! I haven't done it with this recipe but you can store waffle batter in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

      Cornstarch helps achieve that perfect texture-not too dense, not too chewy. In this recipe, you might be able to get a similar effect by using all-purpose flour as a substitute.

      Yes, you can use light olive oil (it has almost no flavor), but not extra virgin olive oil.

      Korean street waffles are made with wheat flour, not glutinous rice flour but the taste and texture are similar.

      요리용으로 나오는 라이트 올리브오일은 향이 거의 없고 발연점이 높아서 식용유처럼 사용할 수 있어요. 엑스트라 버진 올리브오일은 향이 강해서 이 레시피에는 적합하지 않고요.

    IT is hard for me Find mochiko rice, So i was read You make a note * can be subtitue to tapioca flour or potato flour, am i Correct for this information? Thanks before

      Tapioca flour and potato starch are substitutes for cornstarch, not Mochiko! Sweet rice flour is the main ingredient and can't be substituted, but it doesn't have to be a Mochiko brand.

      pretty much every waffle recipe has either baking powder or yeast. you need it to have rise.

    Why did you use rice flour over AP flour?

      I think rice flour makes the batter slightly lighter and crispier. It is kind of airy-crunchy outside and just a little gooey inside.

      This recipe is specifically designed for sweet rice flour and the ingredient quantities will need to be adjusted if using flour. I'll try making another waffle recipe with regular flour some time!

      From what I know, glutinous rice flour and sweet rice flour are the same thing. However, the flavor may slightly differ from product to product depending on the variety of rice used.

      It was crispy enough to withhold toppings like whipped cream and fruit, but not too crunchy. If you like it softer somehow, use a little less cornstarch or cook a little shorter.

      I am thinking just a little bit of pizza sauce (so the waffle doesn't get soggy), shredded mozzarella and pepperonis.. and some fresh parmesan on top.
