  • Access to healthcare and the quality of care received is positively affected by having a more diverse and culturally representative physician workforce. Creating a more diverse workforce in the long-term requires thoughtful efforts to attract and nurture a wide range of individuals throughout their school years. Physician pathway programs can help expose students from underrepresented groups to the medical profession, and provide opportunities and encouragement to help interested students successfully prepare for medical school and medical practice.
Join the Illinois State Medical Society for a session with William A. McDade, M.D., Ph.D, for a program that will discuss the potential of physician pathway programs to help build a more robust, diverse and culturally representative workforce by providing opportunities and support to students from underrepresented backgrounds and communities to pursue careers in medicine.
