This video is absolutely mandatory for long-term Kauju survival. I'd say more good things about it, but I need to go do 6 of those things you said... Thanks so much for this!!!
Awesome video! I broke my rear turnbuckle after about 5 minutes of run time. 2024 and they still haven't fixed it. I saw your video before buying it so I was prepared.
You bring to light some really important stuff that Redcat overlooked and allowed out onto the market. Being new to the hobby, I would appreciate some how to’s on the ones that require a bit of skill to fix, like the soldering of new, and better battery connectors. Anything you might do for the newbie will be much appreciated - thanks !
Awesome tutorial vid lots of good info you are prob one of the most through and nicest/friendly UA-camr rc guys I’ve seen in quite a while great job keep it going
Great video! Appreciate all the Kaiju EXT content. I just got one in the mail today since Redcat has a crazy sale going on this month. Your channel has been super helpful and I'm honestly surprised there's not more content about this truck to be found elsewhere. Quick question - why are the bump stops in the rear different lengths? I think you mentioned one is 10mm and the other 15mm. Thanks!
Great video man. Stumbled upon your rc videos amd some good content brother. Keep it up, informative info and some general good opinions and rc stuff. Cheers
Like your videos. Subscribed a month ago. Used your tips to set up my Vorteks and Granite. For body reinforcement I use Flex tape around the inside. Keeps some flexibility but adds a ton of strength on crashes. Keep up the tips and reviews! 😃
Awesome job! Thanks for providing all these useful tips and tricks! I'm going to get busy working on step one, even though I've used mine a bit already. I already broke that rear drive shaft on the right side and replaced it, so I'm going to try the fuel line trick.
Thanks for the info. I put them rubber pieces in the back of my shocks. See if it helps. N I put the front links in the back. Gonna test it out. 👍 very helpful guy.
Great video. Was looking at the manuals for the Kaiju and the EXT, and was referencing part numbers and I'm trying to put the wing from the EXT on my regular Kaiju, do you think the mount part numbers from the EXT 11:20 will fit exactly onto the my regular Kaiju? Hopefully I explained this. Just subscribed. Thanks for more info 💪🤙
Great video and suggestions on the upgrades, I will definitely be doing all of these when I receive mine in a few days. Speaking of which, since I just purchased mine from HH yesterday do you think or know if Redcat has known about and actively fixed the weak metal in the turnbuckles? I've also seen other comments where people have used the original Kaiju turnbuckles or a Traxxas version to fix the breakage issue.
Great videos as usual bud! been watching your channel lately since I've gotten my kaiju ext friday.. I did the sway bars along with the +10 mm wheel hex (redcat #13333). Unfortunately I never ran it without those 2 mods. I also put the original kaiju tires on before I ran it. I'm amazed at this truck! And that's coming from a traxxas guy! Also, did u cut your chin gotee spoiler? I've been thinking about cutting mine to put the original bumper on it Anyways thanks again for the rad videos! Keep on blasting that thing
Thank you very much for the great content it was very helpful do have a question though I have a kaiju EXT I would like to put the front bumper from the Kaiju onto the Kaiju EXT what screws do I need if you could give me the part number for those screws it would be very helpful thank you very much
Thanks for the kind words. You will need 2 different screw sets. BS502-023 BS502-032 These are the screws that hold the front bumper on. You can get them here: www.redcatracing.com/?ref=faSkeDGcHxv6W
@@RoadsideRC you are very welcome once again thank you for excellent content it also thanks for going out of your way to find the screws that I do need once again thank you very much
@@RoadsideRC Interesting, I just got my Kaiju ext and the front shocks already has a piece of tubing on the shaft. The rear ones didn’t though, but I added them
@@RoadsideRC it's a bit of a different layout. Chassis shorter so the receiver box actually sits up by the front shock Tower. I was curious about the battery train mod as I have issues trying to fit two 3s batteries in the battery tray however my 6s fits fine. I've only had my truck for about 3 days so still learning it.
Please don't take this video like that. I have an Arrma video with just as many things to check. All of these items are there just meant to be a double-check and small improvements, not show-stoppers.
I have a question hope you might be able to answer for me.... I can't even get my kaiju up to top speed just won't stay straight I've adjusted my chamber and tow mess with the shock positions got the sway bars I don't know what the heck's going on.. like it'll be going straight and I give it more throttle and it shoots off one way or the other. Im about to say screw redcat because I have got a couple armas since my kaiju and they drive straighter than an arrow
That is really odd. Never had that issue with mine. Only thing I can think of is the diff fluid might be low/low weight. Eventually allows one wheel to spin and balloon more than the other...
Right but I run a 6s spectrum battery in mine and it fits perfectly with longer straps and I run two 3s hard case with longer straps too and it works perfectly fine now there all 5500 mah

Amazing how much you have improved the truck with inexpensive mods. Great job as always Troy!
Thanks 👍

I said 10-15mm, not that they should be different.
I hope you enjoy the truck!

Hi there! I never owned the original Kaiju,so hard to say 100%. From what I have seen, I do expect it will fit.
Excellent checkpoints
Thanks!
U can also turn ur reciever box around, so the fan wires won't be in the way so much. R ur way is good too.👍

Yes, all of the newer shipments have a revised metal in the rear control arm. You should be in good shape!
great video. I would suggest shoe goo because it flexes over epoxy.
Great point!
Good video man. Can’t wait for more.
More to come!

killing it!!

Love these tires I put them on my Maxx v2

Can't wait to get mine just waiting for the back orders

You will get it with the upgraded rear turnbuckles - score!
Did you see the teasers of a Maxx v2? I would hold out for that one.

Yes - it will bolt right on with some body trimming!

Hey will the truck work with just binding it or I need to do both bind and calibrate for the truck to work properly
Both are important. From the factory, both should be fine - but it is good to check.
Will the fuel tubing help with the turnbuckle issue as well as what you mentioned?
Yes! That is my theory.
@@RoadsideRC Interesting, I just got my Kaiju ext and the front shocks already has a piece of tubing on the shaft. The rear ones didn’t though, but I added them
@@Mrvoorhees01 Interesting! I wonder if that has been a spec change!

What about the battery tray in the regular Kaiju I see you have the EXT version which is a longer chassis.
I haven't had a chance to inspect the regular Kaiju.

If I need to do 10 things to the EXT before running her than it's probably not worth getting and just spending a little more on Arrma?

help me with my yokomo yd2s it doesn't grip anything what tires do i use?
How about you shoot me a message on Facebook messenger (RoadsideRC)? That will make it easier to communicate.
The fuel line link is the wrong stuff. I clicked the link and ordered it and its for a real car.
Yes - that is exactly what I used. Fuel line for a real car. The dimensions work well for going around the shock.
Chassis looks suspiciously similar to the maxx and x Maxx in design.
In a way, yes. Somewhat standard of a layout - but super durable for sure!!!
The crazy thing - this truck is over $100 cheaper than the 4S Maxx v2!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks!
I almost purchased this truck. Glad I didn't
Why not?
It is a great truck!
You should check out one of my bashing videos. It does great!
Just get bigger straps is alot easier tho
Bigger straps?
I assume you are talking for the battery.
That would not help - the width of the battery was not the problem, it was the length.
Right but I run a 6s spectrum battery in mine and it fits perfectly with longer straps and I run two 3s hard case with longer straps too and it works perfectly fine now there all 5500 mah
But don't get me wrong if your running a single 4s battery it might not fit but I only buy 2,3,6s batteries
