Brandt R4 Power Unit Hi Rail Truck Pulls a Tie Dumping Train

- Recently stumbled upon this tie-dumping train in Mt. Pleasant on the Milwaukee Sub. This is a Brandt R4 Power Unit truck, which is a heavily-modified Freightliner Coronado truck. Also seen is the Brandt OTM Tracker, which is the crane on the gondolas.

Thank you! We actually randomly stumbled upon this. We were originally going to head to Kay Siding to see a southbound that I saw on ATCS, but saw this on our way.
They were installing the ties today.
Did they install the welded rail over there yet?
@@natestrains1166 Not sure. I didn't go up and over Highway 20 today to see. I would assume they did though. They only had it along the curve, so there wasn't a whole lot to do. It isn't a major replacement. They did the same thing up in Oostburg on the Shoreline Sub too. Only the curve got new rail.
Have you ever ben to the Amtrak station in sturdivant wisconsin at all. Or you dont go there anymore
I have some videos from the station. I haven't been there in a while, I used to go there more.

So does the pto kick the power to the rail axles on the truck or do all axles on the hi rail truck work to move the rail cars?
The 3 rear axles provide the power. The hi-rail wheels just keep the unit on the tracks. Thanks for watching and commenting!
