- In this video we play nine sol a steam game that is very similar to hollow knight.
Nine sols is by red candle games and is a nice metroidvania game to hold you over for silksong
This is gameplay and funny moments of Nine Sols.
Not using Unbound Counter for this fight was interesting to watch lol

So regarding the story, yes. It was to embrace and accept that everything come and go. That it's a part of life. Yi and Eigong both can't accept that but more specifically, Eigong herself.
Why her? Two words, Tianhuo Virus.
Remember when I said that no one knew of its origins? Well, I don't know if you read the logs in her laboratory, but Tianhuo Virus is not natural and is manmade. It was made by Eigong herself, a failed experiment on her research for immortality. Yes, all of this happened, all of the suffering and clashing, was because of her. If it wasn't for her, Yi wouldn't have tried his best to save everyone on Penglai. The Eternal Cauldron project wouldn't have been launched and he would've stayed with Heng. Thus, "science bring more harm than good" that Lear was trying to convey.
Her research evolved when she found an immortal, Ji, and used his DNA to cure the virus but it made things worse. The virus began to mutate its host and the monsters you've fought that can only be killed with the improved talisman is the result. On her endeavor to cure it, she couldn't accept her continuous failure that she gone crazy and convinced herself that what was happening was a sign that she's going the right away. While it is technically correct that those that turn and mutate into these things are ageless, it comes with being absolutely braindead. You can't think nor capable of having any semblance of sentience. So her research already has a huge hole in it.
So Yi came along and disrupt her plans while also realizing that Heng was right. It'd actually one of the saddest story I've seen, the ending made me cry. But at least he's reunited with Heng in the Great Tao.

congrats!! what a journey its been you bossed this Eigong is so damn difficult but its by far the greatest fight in the game, the third phase is completely bonkers but its some of the most fun i have had ever in a boss fight, a little extra detail is that the name of the OST for Eigongs first and second theme is titled Eigongs theme but in the third its titled as Yi's theme. its so cool because in the third phase essentially it means you are now the boss.
edit: there was probably no need for me to write a essay last time. you speed-ran right to the end lol. ill probably delete that comment as it was a bit much

Congratulations on finishing this journey. Nine Sols seems like a very special game as far as Metroidvanias go. Or at least, like the narrative and emotional impact is very strong.
I've only played Cookie Cutter (and really enjoyed it-- very much looking forward to the big update in the works and where else the lead dev wants to take the story) and watched a bit of it online, before getting much more interested in the tale than I really expected I would be.
May you remember Nine Sols fondly and may it, amongst many other cool games become a lot more known. Such as my previously mentioned love Cookie Cutter, but also the likes of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Decline's Drops, Immortal: And the Death that Follows, My Familiar, Soulstice, Genokids and so many more.
And wish you fun and good luck on whatever game and experience you may undergo next.

Also another good game like this is ori.
ive played ori it’s so good, but yea hollow knight’s aesthetic hit different and mystery, but nine sols story is a tragic one that tugs on heart strings, 2 great games
