@@stefanelul2744 Well I remember when I first watched it in high school in 2006 so it seems to be more than 13 years ago. Everyone else was watching SpongeBob and One Piece. I was stuck watching Death Note, Yugioh, Beyblade. Before in Primary school I was watching Shaman King, DBZ and Pokemon 1st gen, they I had to record it on my VHS so I can rewatch it on the weekends.

Watch Death Parade, Light Yagami is in that show, Episode 11. He's technically still alive and it makes sense. As it's a place between hell and heaven, but can't leave like other humans who are judged because one who uses the Death Note cannot go either to hell or heaven. And in that show they refer to how there is an unusual amount of death's/murders. So those two worlds or animes possibly connect. It's the same studio too.

I love death note’s fandom so much. Some people believe Light should have won while others disagree but almost everyone gives a detailed explanation to why they think that. I just love the fact how most of the people in this fandom argue but not like kids(like some of the mha stans) It always impresses me and keeps death note and its fandom in one of my favourites. I love this anime and its fandom for being one of the most reasonable and intellectual anime fandoms. People won’t change their opinions but the reasons are still amazing. I wanna thank this wonderful fandom and anime. Hope nobody gets too much hate and death note is still as appreciated in the future as now.

That "No" is where Near lost me. Yes Light was an insane serial killer was accurate, but to say that he was just a crazy killer? Couldn't be farther from the truth. Light managed to defeat L, evade the authorities of the whole world multiple times on end, and was the head of a cult. Not only that, but when one considers the math (as presented by Film/Game Theory) he was statistically in the right, saving more people than he killed. And finally, consider that if Near had lost Light truly would've become God of the New World. In a sense, he already was a God, delivering justice and changing the world whilst staining his own hands with blood. But a God's only a God if he can keep his throne, and Light lost in the end.

Everything about this speech is perfect. Light knew that he was caught but the power of the death note got to him and even though he knows he is caught, his confidence got the best of him. In fact, this isn’t Light speaking, but Kira. The last snippet of Light Yagami we saw was him debating whether to spare his sister to protect the notebook from Mellow and the mafia. Everything from the music, to the laugh, to the pauses in breath is absolutely perfect. If you take a listen to Ryuk’s theme and Light/Kiras theme, you can really hear the similarities. The reason why lights/kiras theme is heavier is because he is everything Ryuk wanted to be. Ryuk could have never came up with half the things that Light did, and he knew this. The first instance we see is how Light killed the junkie on the bus with the torn piece of note, Ryuk says “that’s so smart.” Even though Light lost, Kira ultimately won. Kira became the god of the new world, and people started to worship Kira even after Lights death.

Let us not forget him manipulating his dad into shortening his life span to know Mellow's real name. Penber was not "evil". Millions of people follow kira because they are scared of him, some of then genuinely follow him but i am sure that the most of then are just scare of being kill by him because they think different than him. But those who follow L aren't following him for fear but for justice wrong or right they use their freedom against kira.

Trujillo's dictatorship just lasted 30 years, and no he didn't brutally murdered every single person the case mirabal was an example of what happen if you oppse to the regime, kira doesn't need to torture anybody because the fact that he can kill you by just knowing your name is scary enough and also don't you think that in 30 years people were comfortable with him and even worshipped him as the people did in the series , indeed trujillo did have a god complex during that time it was really normal to see him As an equal to God himself he even made some statue in his own honor; also does the means justified the end if ligth was in trujillo's position don't you think he would have done the same, kill everyone who is against you. I love light, and I definitely love Kira, but the more times I watch this the more I realize how horribly messed up light was and how much he ruined himself, how much the death note completely destroyed him and his morals, I’ve always loved Kira/light and disliked L, from the beginning to the end but Light was ruined by the death note and turned into Kira, lost all his real morals and any sense of real justice because of his role in “fixing” the world. A great person and an idea with good intentions were completely turned upside down. Which is exactly why I love light, and kira

Light’s true motive wasn’t to lower the crime rates and take out evil, that was a reason he was hiding behind. Truly, he just wanted to become god. He wanted to have power. He wanted to have control. Light would kill anyone who came in his way, including the people who were innocent (Naomi and Raye). He made a good impact on the world, but it didn’t last very long after his death. Criminals can come out of hiding, returning the world to what it once was before. Evil can never cease to exist, along with good. Light never accomplished anything he wanted, showing how little of an impact he actually had.

Light was a great character with motives you could get behind but I'm really glad he didn't win and he was finally stopped eventually
yeah. People say he's doing this for justice, but he was just boosting his ego and acknowledgment out of sheer boredom of the world he's living in like ryuk is. He's a total hypocrite and manipulator. If he was really doing this for his so called definition of justice and not just doing it for attention then he would've followed what he preached and made variety of ways to kill people he sees as guilty instead of just heart attacks...

Some of those innocent people were bound to be subjected to injustice anyway, murder, medical malpractice, false death sentences, etc. So are innocent lives that were taken by Kira any different than those who were taken by injustice? People aren't numbers, that much is true, but they still get killed in numbers (if that makes any sense).
Light definitely had a point, and while his means were definitely twisted, they got results.

well, we ended up postponing the due date until the week we come back from thanksgiving. she meant semester final. the laugh is fucking impossible to copy, but i have everything else memorized. its weird because i kinda hide to people that i am a total fucking weeb and watch anime so they are pretty in shock when she asked me to do the first 45 seconds of it. the line "is that really the right thing to do" took me so long to get perfect. but going great
