The fire extinguisher should be accessible from the driver seat if you get an accident in your pants or are you gonna stop real quick cause you’re hood on fire if you don’t wanna have to get out of the car and run around and open the back hatch to get a fire, the gates, the whole purpose of having it
Believe it or not we have two. I did a video awhile back of having a quick release under the front seat. The one in the back is great for camp if we are cooking or a campfire starts going rogue
But real talk, one time I had a 12v socket that wasn't fused (rookie mistake a long time ago) that shorted out and I saw smoke going into the cabin while driving. I pulled over and opened the hood and there was a tiny fire. I used my jacket to put it out quickly and separated the wires because that was faster than grabbing the extinguisher which at the time was in the back. And I said never again. You could say, since then, I've been neurotic about having fire protection everywhere. I won't take the chance again
That's a great system! That fire extinguisher needs to be secured in the event of an unplanned "sudden deceleration" resulting in a "kinetic event" (a crash) or roll-over. Under those circumstances, that extinguisher becomes a lethal missile. Better yet, get the Element fire extinguishers. They are light and last a lot longer than the traditional extinguishers. You can keep them in door pockets so they're immediately accessible rather than having to go to the rear of the vehicle. Sometimes with fires, split seconds matter. Nice build!
@@BaptismOverland That's pretty funny considering how much you're putting into the build. The Element puts out 3X what a regular unit does. It'll put out the fire whereas yours only might... maybe. I would think that saving your rig is worth $75.
