(Sri Lanka's official name is The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka - this word socialist being there might make people think we are communist, but hey, democratic is in the name too. - what really matters is the actual political and social system... which is 100% Democratic.. we have a governement and a president elected by popular vote (more directly democratic than USA's indirect illectoral college vote) and all laws are passed by majority vote in a multi party (around 5 parties are more active) parliment.. Most of the countries you mentioned were not Communist, they were states of a Communist country.
