Northern Cockpit Country Local Forest Management Committee, CSO Coalition for Forests, Jamaica

The Northern Cockpit Country Local Forest Management Committee Benevolent Society's (NCCLFMC) mandate is to preserve and protect the natural resources of the Cockpit Country, which produces more than 40% of the water distributed across Western Jamaica. The organisation is entirely run by volunteers, with core activities including maintenance and re-planting of the forest reserves in the area, and sustainable income generation initiatives for community members including seedling distribution and bee farming. The NCCLFMC has joined the CSO Coalition for Forests to collaborate with allied CSOs to expand networks and resources to benefit the forest sector in Jamaica.
